I got a fixed back bucket seat for my rig from BB classics. Iv had it for 6 months now. It’s spot on. Look sweet it’s comfortable. Very good price couldn’t recommend their seats enough. 👍🏻
I first got the NLR wheelstand DD and wanted to upgrade but the recliner seat was a dealbreaker for me. I also ordered a bucket seat online and just built the frame out of wood and bolted it to the wheelstand. I think bucket seats are a lot better than reclinables. obviously not as comfy but a lot better performance and consistancy.
Very tempted to pick one of these up for my rig. Would you mind letting me know your thoughts 6 months on? Has comfort been much of an issue? Some people seem to love it and others complain about back pain. Also how is the wear and tear holding up? Thanks for the content!
Im looking at this seat myself and the BB5 Wide is the one for a 36inch waist though im not shure about that seat cushion, looks very thin to me ! bloody headache trying to decide which seat to get lol
I recently bought a 8040 rig and currently trying to find a bucket seat that I can sit in for long periods and take my slightly chubby waist 37 inch.As most XL seats are for max 36 inch , also, could this be bolted straight to aluminium profile ? Or need side mounting brackets ?
@RDSimRacing thanks for that. I actually ended up buying a Sparco Sprint L and should arrive tomorrow. Has everything I'm looking for, fair price, comfort seems to be there and base and side mount. I'll update after I've sat in it.
@@RDSimRacing It arrived today, not fit to the rig yet as waiting on some bolts , but tried it out on the rug and was actually very impressed. It is really comfortable. I am looking forward to getting it all set up over the weekend and trying it out for longer. But i have no regrets for my choice. Alsao nice it can be base and side mounted.
After plenty of hours and laps it is definitely not as comfortable as the standard reclining seat however I wouldn’t go back. The added rigidity gives me so much more control of my brakes and I’ve noticed a significant improvement in my driving since!

I’m feeling the exact same way glad you’re enjoying it!

I am also of the chunky variety. How is the comfort for you, after all these months?
@RDSimRacing does the sit flex on hard brakes? I am looking for a sturdy firm seat for my simulator with brake load cell up to 90kg
Thank you for this review
Which size is your seat?
Is it L or XL? I read on BB website that L is up to 34" waist and XL is up to 36" waist

Well I am 36 inch waist and I have plenty of space in this seat and you would need side mount brackets to mount it

Would you recommend the NLR rig still?
Personally I’m thinking about upgrading to a profile rig but this has served me well over the last 3 years and I have no complaints so yes
Do you have a link for this or the brand name
The brand name is BBSeats or bad boy seats
I dont understand. Are bucket seats universally better for sim racing? Why?
What are your thoughts now after use?

@@RDSimRacing I’m currently choosing my first seat, would you recommend a reclining seat or fixed back?
If you’re not worried about comfort fixed back!
