      My sister was visiting her in-laws in Houston last hurricane. They had to evacuate walking through foot-deep water.
      It boggles the mind as why they never learned the lessons from that storm.
      Who the hell drives outside during a storm? Why didn’t people prepare/stock up for the storm? Why didn’t people trim their trees? Sheesh.
      I live in a place that’s under constant threat of typhoons…most problems can be prevented with forethought, planning, and preparation.

      @@EpsteinIslandmember I highly doubt that TX tax dollars go overseas - that would be the federal government sending dollars overseas. Your state and local governments are responsible for your state and local infrastructure.

      1 the forecast said by the time it comes to Houston it should wind down to a tropical storm so being hit with a category 1 hurricane was a little uncalled for
      Number 2 We are prepared it’s just the power company is not

    Dont stay at home during a hurricane go out and flood your car like an idiot. That way the news stations will have something to film. I lived in the Houston area and it floods every time it rains. One of the reasons i left houston

      I'm glad you're not in charge! No one would be able to get gas for their generators when they run out. It may take several days before waters recede from the flooded streets. Most people don't drive into flooded streets, so why punish them because of just a few idiots who think they're better than everyone else?

    If people continue to be on the roads, they should be fined and to the degree it would be VERY costly for anyone to out and about this is just plain stupid that rescue, Le, medical personal and other authorized personal EVEN have to deal with this....
