  • Today we're talking all things weight, health, and weight loss! There are a lot of people out there who swear by weight loss claiming that it is one of the best things that you can do for yourself. But after spending years of pursuing that goal weight in order to be "healthy", I've realized that maybe losing weight is simply not in the cards for some of us... and that's totally okay.

I'm sorry that you had to go through that. That's exactly how I felt too: fed up! I believe that there are better ways to do life than to feel bad about our weight. I'm glad that what I said brought some comfort and thank you ❤️

OooOOooOoooooO.... this topic. Ive been dieting since i was 5. Developed a thyroid things as an adult and dropped a crazy amount of weight super quick. Got crazy compliments. For like... almost dying. Felt weird. Realized being "thin" was kind of hollow.....

Good points. This is your experience. Do what works for you. I see this working, yes, but I also see this as risky for some people, because if you're a person that has no self-control, then this could be a problem. Like winging it, going by intuition, emotional eating, etc. I guess we would have to learn to recognize these behaviors and catch ourselves if we're overdoing it and stop it. So it depends on the person. I do think that being healthy is far more important than losing weight, and that weight is a reflection of your lifestyle and your behaviors.
    You look good btw.

Thank you for acknowledging that this works for a selected group of people. The video is intended for THAT group of people. People who have lived experience with disordered eating as a result of directly pursuing weight loss.
I do agree with you that health is more important than weight. Weight goals tend to obstruct health goals most of the time, that was the reason why I made this video.
I don't agree with you that weight is a reflection of lifestyle, to say that is exaggerating the role of lifestyle and making people feel guilty for something that they will potentially never be able to change. I would also say that we are not born with an instinct to "overdo it" - that is something that diet culture so kindly gifted us. We are born, however, with an ingrained instinct to eat and with an intuitive way of doing so. So I like to go back to that and remind people of that. The only way to do that though is to put weight aside for a while, until that intuitive instinct kicks in again.
I agree that being mindful of our own behaviors and noticing patterns is extremely important in any and all areas of life where we seek improvements.
As for the last sentence.. I'd like to believe that your intention was pure but it kinda tells me that you may have missed the point of the video my friend. Have a lovely rest of your day!
