I'll be really bummed if that one goes.... nothing can quite beat that speed for the gas for a cross country machine. Seems like a pretty useful asset for Jimmy's World if it can be fitted with a variable pitch prop and IFR certified!

Noo! Not the Lancair! What a bleepin’ awesome airplane that is. Well anyway, I can’t wait to see what happens with the 310, and the MiG! Watching this channel continue to grow has been terrific, and very deserving 👍. Oh, one last thing: Jimmy, I know the office decoration was a recent addition, and I love it, but consider mounting some cheap used flatscreens behind the jet paneling windows. It would just be hilarious for future episodes to see the sky going by, flying in formation, etc., while you give us the rundown. 😁

Yes I'm in France and we don't have the same vision of light aircraft use, but for me the Aztec could be quickly in sky, and made fun fly for a long time during the ... Restoration is not enough, the rebuilt of 310

Dude the Aztec is your best bet. It is a truck in the aviation world. The 310 isn’t that great to be honest at hauling compared to the Aztec. I have flown them both for many hours. They call it an Aztruck for a reason. Expect about 155 knots and 11 gph per side. You will also need lots of time in training and proficiency for flying light twins. Just my 2 cents…from a guy with a bunch of time in general aviation and big jets. Lastly, a guy can’t be emotional when it comes to planes..that just gets you flying into a boxed canyon.

Ive been watching for a bit and honestly, I think you’ll regret selling the Aztec and that little one seater that the old guy built. Honestly Id keep those 2 and sell the 310. 🤷♂️ Its your planes and your show but selling everything you’ve got for 1 plane seems like a strange business decision.
You've made the right decision Jimmy. Hope the sales go well. When the hanger is cleared out there will be plenty of space for the 310 and the Mig. Here in New Zealand we have a thriving warbird restoration industry getting them airworthy again.

Thank you Mr. Jimmy for all the footage. You are brave. And I am thankful that you are safety conscience as well. Saving the 310 is fun to watch. All of the 310 issues were concerning to me regarding airworthiness. Achieving the pattern in the 310 would have been a great accomplishment. I’d hate for anything bad to happen.

Jimmy....I'm proud of the fact you took the plunge and decided to fulfill all of our dreams and wishes to save the 310!!! Wise wise wise choice, plus your wife will be thrilled lol. But in all honesty the 310 is indeed a well deserving candidate for a full restore back to flight. She will pay ya back in spades I'm sure!!
You will immediately regret selling that Lancair. That plane might be small and VFR right now... Making it a pain to fly cross country. BUT you will forever regret selling Cameron. Plus that fuel burn rate is out of this world. I would say keep him until you have something that makes you just as happy. BTW I look forward to every upload. You make me smile the whole video. I am really bummed now, the day the Aztec fired up I got all excited, and now you are getting rid of it, kinda makes me upset, it was the one i hoped would get fixed and put back together, so it can fly again. I just hope it does not get sold, it needs to fly again in Jimmy's hands, that would bring a smile to my face. If it does get sold, rest in peace Pablo you will always be remembered by the ones who loved you. But what comes must go, and i hope it stays the Aztec.
I find it funny, the Aztec video when he found it, was the first video of Jimmy's world I watched, and it put a smile on my face, I've wanted to stick with the Aztec ever since. I can't pick a favoiurite video on Hank's channel, he's done so many good video's. I've only been a subscriber to your channel for a few months or, I forget how I came across it, I do remember it was a "will it start" video....Possibly the one's where you bought the three planes together. I love to see pretty much any old, neglected, forgotten vehicle brought back to life. I am glad I found your channel Jimmy. I find it very entertaining and aviation is a whole new ball park for me and thus very interesting. That and I like to learn new things. Keep up the great work and lets save the 310!
Dunno if this is going to reach you or not but just some brainstorming advice here. It really seems like you want to keep 3 of the planes that you’re talking about selling. So… (bear with me here)… Cameron is just a personal use airplane so keep? Sell? It’s up to you.
If you have all the parts for Pablo to go back together in working condition. And just upgrade as needed when the funds are available. I would advise give it a good wash inside and out and use the Aztec for transporting veterans since it’s basically the station wagon of the skies it would make more sense to use that for transport. Save the 310 and use it for a trainer and, assuming you sell Cameron, a personal use plane. So essentially the 310 will be used for dual purpose while making you a little money in the process. Definitely sell the H1 and the best place to sell would be on the Overland market. Those are some of the most sought after vehicles for overland enthusiasts. People are paying high dollar for 4x4’s they can turn into camping rigs. The best way to make money off the bikes would be at auction. If they’re in perfect working order you’ll get more because the fuel prices are driving up motorcycle sales right now.
On a side note. Do you have any idea how amazing Pablo would look painted in a veterans mural.
Come on now, DO NOT absolutely DO NOT sell the Lancair. Just leave it be and just that one for your “back and forth” plane. That’s honestly an aircraft that I believe you’d even regret letting it go.

Ditch the Mig your going to have to purge the nitrogen out of the brakes and canopy every time you use it and crazy expensive to fly.

It makes me so sad please don’t get rid of lancair!!!! Put the 310 outside on the back burner if you “have” to save it and slowly fix it while you finish your commercial. Put the Aztec together so that you can get more money out of it sell it and use the money from it towards the 310. Finish 310 sell it use that money towards mig and getting your turbine rating.

Jimmy, I’m happy to hear your still going forward with saving the 310 as you guys have put a lot of work into it all ready, but you can’t get rid of the Lancair as you will definitely regret it once it’s gone.
Hey Jimmy love the videos when you come out to Cailf . I live about 5 minutes from where your going. I sold my airplane and cleaned out my hanger . But if you need tools , aircraft jacks or a power tow let me know . It’s all available if need be . Keep up the good work.
My recommendation is to sell the current 310 for parts. Then buy a good used 310 that is airworthy for about half the cost of what you are planning to put into the rebuild of the current 310. This allows you to still keep your vision of what a 310 can be used for as well as keeping the Lancair and maybe more of the other airplanes. This is a win - win situation where everyone is happy.
Glad you have decided to save the 310 after all the work you lot have done so far.

The most exciting thing for me is the MiG 15 😍 this is so freaking cool, the T6 is also a beautiful warplane ... these two are what im looking forward to see on the channel. The 310 is what have made this channel famous, he deserve it! Clear Prop!
Love for you to know them all. One thing for sure. Any military aircraft is a high maintenance and expensive to fly. I know I had a T6/Harvard.

Always keep the prop vertical during parking ro avoid water to either stay in the cone or around the blade base 😉
Learned that many years ago when I was flying in the pouring rain state beside the sunshine 😉 33 years 40 years later beside flying a GLEX I still apply that rule on any prop airplane I fly it might save money too and in winter it could freeze too if you don’t 😉😂

Jimmy save the Lancair sell the Machine Gun too. You need the Lancair to get away from the 310 build. It will be a Nightmare some of the Time or sell the 310 to the Man in California and you just help and pass out stickers.
I'm going to miss the lancair too. That's such an amazing airplane. If I were you I'd sell the 310 for parts and go forward to getting a jet one day.
I priced the lancair accordingly ;) $250,000. I don't know anyone crazy enough to pay that much for it... lol

Flight training can be hard on any airplane, particularly an old 310. Be picky about who besides yourself trains in it.

Aztec is a nice flying plane and will haul all that you can stuff in it.... Good luck on selling that Honda shadow for 20K, it's worth about 5-7K

I really enjoy your channel. Though I am not an aviator. I'm more in to cars and trucks(love the hummer). So with my ignorance on the subject in mind. What is special about the 310 that makes it worth all this time, money, and sacrificing of other vehicles? It must be really special.

Conversely, " Save the pilot", comes to mind.
Jimmy the 310 is a lot of work. One the gear rigging will take you all day, get the original 310 gear rigging manual it is separate from the service manual. Follow the rigging manual to a T if you don’t want that gear to fold up on a moving turn under load. Two there is an old service bulletin and mod kit for a rib that cracks in the gear well. It is 50/50 that your gear well ribs have a crack in the rib that has a cut out in it. It takes like 40 to 70 hours a side to replace and mod the cracked gear well rib. Good luck on it the Continentals are half as reliable as the Lycoming in my book. I worked on them for over 40 years. I would sell the 310 and keep the Aztec. The 310 in turbulence is always dropping a wing up or down. Not a good cross country machine unless you have a super autopilot for the turbulence. The Aztec is slower but it will not let you down with excellent Lycomings on the wing. Both planes heaters will drive you nuts with the heater core cracks and constant maintenance for them, and the AD inspections over snd over. You must have electronic CO2 detector on both these planes in my opinion if you don’t want to go to sleep permanently. Just saying. Well good luck on your 310.

Just my pointless $0.02. Right now I’d take complete stock as to what you have and needs to be done with the 310 and Aztec. I’d then go forward with which ever project is the most cost effective and best bang for the buck. Also which aircraft overall is the better aircraft. You e said a few times you never meant for the 310 to be put back together but always meant for the Aztec to be reassembled. Seems to me of it all adds up Aztec it may be the right direction to go in and maybe sell the 310 as a project for the next person.

Money and ROI matter sometimes but not all the time. Seeing a project through and having the satisfaction of completion will have a lot of value for you but not necessarily someone else. I'm guessing the 310 project helped build the channel so there is some obligation too. Good luck James!

I bought my Sierra with 20 hrs into my private pilot trining. The salesman went nuts when he found out that I only had 20 hrs....until he talked to my instructor and he told the salesman to relax and I would have zero issues. Went to my private checkride with 48 hrs because I had to do the extra hrs for complex airplane sign off...but I did my private, instrument, and commercial training in that great plane in 13 months (yes....all three in 13 months) and went ot my commercial checkride with 252 hrs....LOL....absolutely take you commercial checkride in that Sierra....it's an awesome plane for doing the commercial

I hope you got something special coming I get allot of people want to c that 310 back in the air but at this point just claim the hard drive got corrupted on your computer and buy a different one it's probably going to cost 2-3x what getting one good to go will cost
