If you want to hear some of my original music you can go here. I need to get back to recording. I did this in my bedroom, all instrument and vocal i did myself in one or two takes. It's really just sketches of song. Todd

This wasn’t performed live. Freddie was too sick at the time. This is a great song.

Innuendo” is the opening track and lead single of Queen’s final album before Freddie’s death. The song, partially inspired by Led Zeppelin’s song Kashmir as well as Freddie’s illness, deals with mankind’s inability to live with each other and constant search for meaning.
The song began as a jam session in Switzerland amongst Brian May, Roger Taylor, and John Deacon in the spring of 1989.
As Brian stated in August of 1991 to Guitar World, "I think ‘Innuendo’ was one of those things which could either be big - or nothing. We had the same feelings about Bohemian Rhapsody. It’s a risk, because a lot of people say, ‘It’s too long, it’s too involved, and we don’t want to play it on the radio.’ I think that could be a problem in which case it will die. Or it could happen that people say, ‘This is interesting and new and different’, and we’ll take a chance."
"[The song] started off as most things do, with us just messing around and finding a groove that sounded nice. All of us worked on the arrangement. Freddie started off the theme of the words as he was singing along, then Roger worked on the rest of them. I worked on some of the arrangement, particularly the middle bit, then there was an extra part that Freddie did for the middle as well. It basically came together like a jigsaw puzzle."
"It’s got the bolero-type rhythm, a very strange track. That’s going to be the first single here. It’s a bit of a risk, but it’s different, and you either win it all or you lose it all. It had a nice sound and feel, and we stuck with that. The Spanish motif is suggested from the start: those little riffs at the beginning are sort of Bolero-esque. It seemed like the natural thing to explore those ideas on an acoustic guitar, and it just gradually evolved. Steve Howe (who played the Spanish guitar) helped out and did a fantastic job. We love all that stuff - it’s like a little fantasy land adventure"
" [Steve] just happened to be around in Switzerland, when we were working and he just dropped in. We were working on this little Spanish guitar piece in the middle. He’s very good at that sort of stuff, so instantly it seemed like a good idea to get him in to play all the stuff that I can’t play."

The great Steve Howe provided the classical flamenco guitar section with Brian playing and repeating the flamenco notes on his own guitar following Steve. One of the few times Queen had an outside musician play on a recorded song.

      you are wrong.
The song was finished when Brian asked Steve to add some spanish complex guitar licks over the flamenco guitar backing Brian already did

@@roverwaters3875 Nowhere did I mention when or how the tracks were laid down. I was strictly speaking of the order it was played on the song heard in the finished track heard in the video.

One of my favs!! Freddies voice 😮 wow. I love the fact that Queen music is so timeless, the lyrics could have been written yesterday. They were so ahead of their time ❤️

This song is a masterpiece and the video won top awards the year it was released. I really love this song and the instrumentation is fantastic. Steve Howe from the band Yes is playing guitar during the Spanish guitar part alongside Brian May.

It’s interesting to hear the evolution of their song writing.
Early on their songs were generally about the self. Later their songs explored the broader word around them.
And yes, this stuff has been going on forever.

Queen stopped performing live in 1986 so nothing from The Miracle or Innuendo were ever played live by the band with Freddie.
I had this album on constant repeat back in 1991. Probably watched the video a thousand times. A masterpiece.

I saw Queen without Freddie perform this at the. Freddie Mercury tribute concert and it was the best song I have ever heard live. Also on the bill was guns and roses and Metallica. This song blew them all away. Robert plant sang it badly but the music was legendary.

From a artistic viewpoint, this song could easy go in top 10 Queen songs, but there is a lot of good Queen songs, that got other elements, like you mention humour, or a better rock vibe, this one aint got, so well lets just say its hard to rank the Queen songs..lol

    So you were one of the notorious casualties of the 1982 Hot Space album debacle, as some queen fans would describe it;
Personally I've always liked Hot Space, and felt that The album has been unfairly maligned and scapegoated, perhaps even by some band members themselves

I think Innuendo is beyond you and you are not able to say anything specific... even though you are 59 years old, I think you are still not mature for this song.
