Hi friends. Living in germany just a few km away from the Miele factory i recently discovered your channel. Nice work! My family owns an old s638 medicair vacuum from 1998 or so. I was inspired to deepclean and basicaly restore it back to almost like new condition. Its white, not painted but solid white plastic. So i polished it, took it apart and cleaned everything, also got a seb236 and modded the unit so i can use an electric hose and tube with it. The mrg 44 motor got new bearings and brushes too. These units are build to last a long time. Im 41 and it will outlive me and ill give it to my niece when i die :)
Thanks for sharing!
Just got a riccar 1800 and you guessed it, the board is toast. Ordering one next week. This is so helpful thank you for posting this. I will let you know how it went. I will also be replacing the board in the hose handle.
I have an S24 that I have had for many years. The motor in the power head did fail after it was used by some brilliant person to vacuum a damp rug. Easily sourced a replacement on eBay. Other than that, it has been a real workhorse. I love that the hose rotates on both ends. I wish my Sebo E3 did that.
Just purchased a vacuum shops inventory, got three new hoses for these machines. Also just purchased a used 1800 canister motor unit. Hopefully I dont have to replace the board.
I guess the customer must have a real attachment(pun intended) to this vacuum. I’m sure the repair cost will not be too cheap.
Yes, follow the instructions. Don’t adopt my dear old Dad’s mantra…."stuff the bloody instructions.”😝
I asked a question a few weeks ago. Are the Domel motors in Sebo canister vacuums dual stage like the motor in the Windsor upright that you repaired a few weeks ago?
Their canister motors at least are single stage.
So this machine will turn on without the hose connected for testing? Good to know.
You mentioned if. You get a new hose for this model you Have to replace the board is this true if the vacuum itself runs. Are the new hoses incompatible with the original boards.
Any chance you could do a review of the Lindhaus F5? I've been looking for a corded stick vacuum and this one has peaked my interest.
I sell them at my store. It's a great little machine I would recommend!
Have you tried out the new R25 Delux Uprights yet?
Yes typical China junk from Tacony
is this machine still being made or has it been discontinued?
Maybe still this week but wait until next.
Discontinued
Long ago discontinued. I am amazed he could still get parts for it.
Seems like all these machines with controls on the hose have problems.
Riccar/Simplicity= Problems.
@PerformanceReviews I think there uprights hold up better especially the 7000 8000's.
They stopped making those 15-20 years ago.
I thought Samsung made these? The body, cord reel and the motor housing are very reminiscent of a Samsung Quiet Jet / Quiet Storm.
They were made by Daewoo
You keep mentioning Bissell screws. I like to joke, if you're taking a screwdriver to a bissell, you're doing something wrong
