Training Day will always be my favorite Denzel performance, but American Gangster, Crimson Tide & Flight are all VERY underrated. Dude never gives a bad performance!
Exactly Nick ! If these little 13 yr old ass-hats realized that the director of Training day( Antoine Fuqua) also directed Eq 1&2 , they might think twice to prejudge and go with the " it sucks" reflexive response. Denzel ( I love to Box) Washington will not knowingly do a poor movie ever. He's very selective about his roles and obviously believes in quality over quantity. Soo the movie diverges along different sub-roles and antagonists?! Big deal. The first one was the same. He helped the people/family at the Home mart and had to save the Russian girl who was being used and abused by Russian Mob, then Teddy and Robert play some cat and mouse which ties in all the other arcs. If they realized that the movie is lightly based upon the 80's Television series, thats what his character is about; he helps and saves anyone who is being exploited by wrong doing. Uhh you know, kind of like the story line of every comic book movie lol. I read a few reviews where undoubtedly, Denzel is good as always but never even comes close to being challenged or equally wounded in his confrontations. The first one was similar with the exception of the Home mart - glass shard scene. I'll watch for the wit, the professional delivery and the calm voice that clearly defines your fate, as you realize you grossly underestimated this " old average built fart"
So many great moments... Secret Door scene, Credit Card scene, Car Fight, Final Battle, and just Denzel being a badass... but that’s all they were... moments
Been awhile since a good hard R action revenge flick has come out. (Sicario 2 doesn't count, though it was good). I have to wash the bland soulless taste of Skyscraper out of my mouth.
Yeah I didn't like Disney for canceling Clone Wars (and pushing Rebels) but they were ok with me because of the movies. But reviving the Clone Wars really improves the state of Star Wars
John Wick after his dog dies vs Denzel after his friends have been attacked vs Liam Nesson after his daughter’s been kidnapped vs Jon Bernthal Punisher......how many dead bad guys by the end
Have to disagree with Jeremy on this one. The side plots do all connect, and help this movie be a deeper, more personal story but without sacrificing the amazing hard R action that we loved from the first one. Saying how they connect would be a spoiler, but they do. I absolutely loved this movie though. Saw a preview screening last night. It was intense, raw, awesome action and suspense. And helps you get to know Denzel's character and history more.
WrecklessEating definitely was forgettable but I'm sure it was better than this one like he said and I haven't even seen it yet. In the previews the scenes look like it was a lot going on.
I'm telling you man. You have to go into directing and/or producing. You have a great view on cinema. I love watching your reviews and I'd definitely love to see anything you would see fit to make. Great job Jeremy.
Just watched it. Your comment about side quests was spot on. I had that exact thought in my head as he was dealing with the side plots. Other than that it was pretty entertaining and Denzel once again put on an acting clinic.
I like the fact that it fits in side plots, cause that’s what I loved about the first one. It reminds me about the show it’s originally based off of, denzels character works on more than one problem at a time.
My favorite part of this movie was basically after Denzel “rescues” the painter and he tells him he does not know what life is, that he has not faced death what so ever. That part got to me, just amazing acting!
Denzel in man on Fire was he best action role I’ve seen him in. That should have won an Oscar. He was clever as well as tough but developed a soft spot for a little girl with a witty personality that got kidnapped. Towards the end we find out the cause of all the grief was the little girls father trying to collect some insurance and the culprits flipped the con. This movie was the best.
Yo Jeremy, you should answer the question you pose after each Video. You did it with your The Dark Knight Rises review; I wish you did it every time :)
So I put the audio speed on 1.25 for the last video I watched & forgot to change it back but now it just sounds like he's having a lot of fun rapidly explaining himself about the movie.
Although it's a slightly different movie than the first (this is the Equalizer being the Equalizer rather than how the Equalizer came to be the Equalizer), it's not nearly as bad as many reviews would indicate. It has both better acting moments and better acting, and the action is still top notch. With sequels, many people really don't really know what they want; they want it the same as the first, "but different", and I think a lot of people want to retroactively turn this franchise into John Wick, which it never was to begin with.
Jeremy. Do a Top 5 video of your favorite Denzel movies, please. Maybe it could become a things like Tales from the comment section which I miss. Mine are: Training Day, Man on Fire, Fallen, Crimson Tide, and Philadelphia. Honorable mention for John Q and Deja Vu.
Thank you. I sorta liked the first movie but it fought the sleep test and BARELY passed. I think I was sober enough to not fall asleep during it but if this one is not as good as the first. Thanks.
John Wick vs the Equalizer Right before McCall slams his fist into John's skull, John yells out: "Martha! He's trying to kill Martha!" McCall: "How do you know that name?!"
Agreed, keeping Miles out of the gang was enthralling. I felt like that was Denzel's personal moment to speak directly to all inner-city young men (not spelled g-u-n) and inspire them to better things than the dead-end gang-banger lifestyle. But the ending of the holocaust survivor's story arc really tore at the heart strings!!!
Can someone please explain the motivation of the antagonists within this movie? I walked out of the theater and was like uhhh did they ever explain why those guys were bad or were they just 'bad guys" for Denzel to beat up? Honestly they could've just given them a cliche motivation and they still would've had a better motivation than whatever they didnt have.
I take it you never saw the original Equalizer TV show from the 80's? This movie was just like the TV show. Mr. McCall would respond to some stranger's cry for help, render some vigilante justice, do some other good, and at the end of the show you would see the results of his doo good'ing and the lives of those people he helped be significantly improved by his good deeds.
Sick movie. Very wholesome and balanced. It was all the perspective of robert mccall. Like we see things the way hes seeing it in real time. I like that its more real. Usually movies just focus on the main plot but this one was like a journey. We see things unfold from his perspectivel
Favorite Denzel role? Well, it's a tie for me. Malcom X, and Coach Herman, in Remember the Titans. I couldn't choose between the two. He was so damn great in those movies!
Denzel is really good at playing Denzel.
The Equalizer: The Sequalizer
I didn't see the comments.
Radiator Mike oh.
Lol
I chuckled
Giggle
Denzel is a badass
Edward Sanchez Productions
It sucked
Edward Sanchez Productions Samuel L. Jackson is badass. Denzel is not.
His first sequel
XIIIMugenSoulXIII 2 haa haa can't they both be? This is Denzel's 1st sequel....We like him😂😂
M Mmc Cause equalizer was a bad ripoff of taxi driver with the plot of wanting to save the young prostitute.
They need to make a equalizer and John wick crossover asap!!!
bruhman92 I swear I thought I was the only one who thought of that
Comment of the day
bruhman92 and jon bernthal punisher
..and taken.. liam with denzel
Yasss, exactly what i was thinking when saw both movies
Training Day will always be my favorite Denzel performance, but American Gangster, Crimson Tide & Flight are all VERY underrated. Dude never gives a bad performance!

BATJAX Ill take that over Skyscraper
That scene where he gets the kid out the hood was pretty damn good too, mainly because of how captivating and intense Denzel was during that lecture.
+D. Foxx
"YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT DEATH IS!"
-Denzel Washington 2018.
P.S. I agree, I loved that whole segment the most.
Perfectly balanced. As all things should be.
Justin Y. Do u just buy likes now?
Why are you everywhere reeeee
Wow, another factory-level comment that isn't relevant to the video, and isn't funny at all. Now watch as it gets upwards of a hundred likes.
agreed
Justin Y. Why are you everywhere?
The Clone Wars is coming back everybody!!!
What ? For real ?
Ahmet Kurum yeah man. Comic con announcement
Ahmet Kurum Yeah for real. There is a teaser trailer too
YO THIS IS WHY JEREMYS FANS ARE THE BEST ILY BRO
You just made my day !!
I liked Denzel in training day
"A DUI, let me load up ma guns"
Alonzo Harris and Oberyn Martell.
Training day was so boring.
Yeah you can't have guns in your video according to youtube. But there are ads for concealed gun holsters before the video. It makes no sense.
Been awhile since a good hard R action revenge flick has come out. (Sicario 2 doesn't count, though it was good). I have to wash the bland soulless taste of Skyscraper out of my mouth.
SHAY RUTHERFORD Sorry dude. Already did, and it was awesome. I need something else now.
DORMAmmu I've come to bargain with you for your popcorn
Deadpool 1?
Dormammu that was f*ckn hilarious!! Lol 😂😂
John Wick duh
Best Denzel role has got to be Alonzo Harris in Training Day
bean affleck King Kong ain’t got s*** on me.
Great role but for me its Malcolm X
I really like that movie that he is a drug addicted pilot.
the movie was called flight and he was an alcoholic
Rafael Alódio That was Flight. Really good. Courage under Fire was great too.
Please talk about the Clone Wars is Saved, Jeremy!!
Chayatorn Akathapon yes please can Jeremy make a video that doesn't shit on Disney Starwars?
Rishabh Raj I started to dislike Disney since they pushed the cancelled button on The Clone Wars until now.
Yeah it’s especially relevant because of his recent video on the state of Star Wars
Yeah I didn't like Disney for canceling Clone Wars (and pushing Rebels) but they were ok with me because of the movies. But reviving the Clone Wars really improves the state of Star Wars
As long as it's not Genndy Tartikovsky's version. In which case, not interested. I still have a vendetta against that man!
John Wick after his dog dies vs Denzel after his friends have been attacked vs Liam Nesson after his daughter’s been kidnapped vs Jon Bernthal Punisher......how many dead bad guys by the end
Tadicuslegion78
None.
Let’s add Charles Bronson after his family was raped and murdered.
So that wasn't a riddle?
The scene in the trap house between him and miles, to me, was really freaking powerful. I love this movie. So much better than the first one
Favorite Denzel Role. Man of Fire.
Best Denzel role is still Alonzo from Training Day
Gang Squad haven't seen it unfortunately
Your profile pic is Now now'd 😊
American Gangster was my fav
Man on fire in my opinion is the best Denzel movie.
That was an amazing performance! The nuances of his character were some of the best done on screen.
Internet’s been going crazy since it’s comic con!!
“Airsoft pistols are so bad”
Jeremy jahns
Aaron North and Malcolm X and hurricane
You have to make a review on the Clone Wars!
WHOA! LMFAOOO Jeremy did his review with such passion and energy that the rating caught me off guard.
That camera shot of the 360 turn in the car was incredible 🤩
Hey Jeremy did you see the dark knight again for it’s tenth anniversary
Have to disagree with Jeremy on this one. The side plots do all connect, and help this movie be a deeper, more personal story but without sacrificing the amazing hard R action that we loved from the first one. The first was so forgettable to me. But I don't remember hating it either. Will give this one a shot.
WrecklessEating loved the 1st xd its like a little more casual john wick
WrecklessEating I’ve seen the first one a lot
Exactly I remember seeing it and forgetting it by the next day .
WrecklessEating I can say the same about your channel. Totally forgot I was subscribed to you.
WrecklessEating definitely was forgettable but I'm sure it was better than this one like he said and I haven't even seen it yet. In the previews the scenes look like it was a lot going on.
Denzel, another settlement needs your help.
I got word from a settlement!
At least it's not raining.
Who do you think you are telling people to help out local settlements? That is MY job to annoy the General.
Fallout humor haha
Where did you get the prop gun, been looking for some for my short films...
Great review again! Can’t wait to watch and review this myself!
I like the fact that it fits in side plots, cause that’s what I loved about the first one. It reminds me about the show it’s originally based off of, denzels character works on more than one problem at a time.
Before: "Please be good..."
After: *"FUUUUUU-"*
I saw a preview screening yesterday and thought it was fantastic. Reviews and opinions are subjective, you may still enjoy it.
I loved Denzel in Remember the Titans and also a pretty underrated movie, The Magnificent Seven.
My favorite part of this movie was basically after Denzel “rescues” the painter and he tells him he does not know what life is, that he has not faced death what so ever. That part got to me, just amazing acting!
Jeremy plz do a review on the Titans trailer and the all demanded return of THE CLONE WARS!
Sharil Shahed that Titans trailer looked like a cheap web series.
Please do a review of the Titans trailer.I very much wanna know your opinion on the direction they're taking.
I would be interested in hearing your thoughts on Super Troopers 2.
Been waiting for this vid. Thanks Jeremy!!
Give us your thoughts on Clone Wars coming back or a Clone Wars Series Review!
Great review. Thank you Jeremy
Denzel in man on Fire was he best action role I’ve seen him in. That should have won an Oscar. He was clever as well as tough but developed a soft spot for a little girl with a witty personality that got kidnapped. Yo Jeremy, you should answer the question you pose after each Video. You did it with your The Dark Knight Rises review; I wish you did it every time :)
Favorite role was from the movie unstoppable. Safe house was pretty good to.
STAR WARS THE CLONE WARS OMGG
WE’RE GONNA GET ASHOKA VS MAUL! Can’t wait :D
Oh,. so it's NOT the Tartikovsky version? GOOD!!!!!!
So I put the audio speed on 1.25 for the last video I watched & forgot to change it back but now it just sounds like he's having a lot of fun rapidly explaining himself about the movie.

The Equalizer II was AWESOME, the action sequences were STUNNING, and I CAN’T WAIT to get it on DVD!!!
"Sorry to Bother You" was excellent. I'd love to see you review it.
What type of airsoft pistol is that? Think you could send me an Amazon link?
Jeremy what are your thoughts on the Teen Titan Trailer?
I actually lived the formation of the scenes and the little tasks he was doing..
Found it pretty predictable but was still a good watch, if you like the first movie you're sure to like this one..
Craig James Review il check it out thanks
Dude! The ild guy & his painting. I loved it
Did he get the guys painting back I did not see that would of been cool
Thanks man. Now I’ll just wait for Netflix. Your reviews save me money
Thank you. I sorta liked the first movie but it fought the sleep test and BARELY passed. I think I was sober enough to not fall asleep during it but if this one is not as good as the first. Thanks.
American Gangster is one of my all time favourite movies. Also happens to star Denzel Bossington
Jeremy, please give us your review of the new Star Wars the Clone Wars trailer
Hope you do a review of Eighth Grade, Jeremy!
Should've been called Sequeliser
Favorite Denzel role is definitely Coach Boone. Love that movie. Love his character in it.
Review sums up exactly how I felt, love the video game analogy!!
Just watched it. Thumbs up! Favorite Denzel movie? Man on fire.
Favorite Denzel role? Gotta be George Segal's son in Carbon Copy or as that dead detective in Heart Condition.
The way you set this up in the opening strongly suggested that this was a good time if you were drunk.
I missed seeing Antman and the Wasp in IMAX because this movie was playing, instead. Thanks for ripping this movie apart, Jeremy. :)
Still waiting for your bioshock infinite spoiler review
My favorite Denzel movie is Training Day.
Can you make a video on sequels that are as good or better than the first?
Cool review Jeremy.
I love Denzel in American gangster... that piano scene tho, the very esence of Denzel's acting. Oh and I love Deja vu too
Jeremy video on the clone wars coming back please???
I miss seeing you wear the suit man! Loved the video nonetheless!
Denzel in Mo Better Blues was perfect for me 👌🏼🎷
John Wick vs the Equalizer
Right before McCall slams his fist into John's skull, John yells out:
"Martha! He's trying to kill Martha!"
McCall: "How do you know that name?!"

Denzel could get nominated for an oscar in every movie he does . The man is a straight badass
Denzel in "Glory" breaks my heart every time.
Sick movie. Very wholesome and balanced. It was all the perspective of robert mccall. Like we see things the way hes seeing it in real time. I like that its more real. Usually movies just focus on the main plot but this one was like a journey. We see things unfold from his perspectivel
Training day, is my favorite Denzel role. Prob not his best but my fav.
I have 3 fav Denzel roles.
1) Fences (hands down his best)
2) Man on Fire
3) Flight
2 & 3 are tied.
First like first comment...... Love your content mate :)
Jeremy talk about clone wars coming back
Favorite Denzel role? Well, it's a tie for me. Malcom X, and Coach Herman, in Remember the Titans. I couldn't choose between the two. He was so damn great in those movies!
I wonder if Alonzo from Training Day can beat Robert from The Equalizer?
Such a great movie!! Love the first also
Glory and Fences.. those were my favorite
serafin haro Glory.....yes.....that whipping scene was just........powerful......he played the hell outta that
I love your positive energy
Great review!!
Can you review Eighth Grade?
Most people will say Training Day, but his performance as Reuben 'Hurricane' Carter is outstanding and is my personal favourite.
Loved Denzel in crimson tide and courage under fire... but training day takes the cake
I like your view on video games, Jeremy.
I love Denzel. Training Day is my favorite role he has ever played.
Anyone noticed the one guy he picks up to drive around was detective fusco from person of interest
Craig James Review ya I forgot his name but I know he doesn't act that much
Well, I mean, The Equalizer WAS a TV show, and I'd be up for bringing it back.
