Been watching your videos to ensure my build that ended up with a 2 lb trigger is fully safe and has the most affirmative reset. Before I would have just swapped trigger pieces, but now I feel like I understand the nuances better of how the trigger angles and tension work together
Great advice, thanks Johnny. I've already adjusted my 4 lb connector laterally, per your instructions. Next time I have the pistol torn down, I'll stone that little ledge on the connector, to facilitate a smooth drop of the bar into reset. I always file down the sharp edge where the transfere bar slides over during reset- helps smooth out the pull & reset. Careful though only smooth out connector , don't take out alot of metal.

What kind of stones are those? Are they “polishing” stones or “sharpening” stones? I know you used them dry but if looking to get some of them would they be considered “wet/dry stones” “wetstones”? Are they like the same material but just long flat versions of the colored dremel stones?

Could you also do this to a connector to help with trigger reset issues (ie. the shelf in the slide is too thin and doesn’t allow the connector to be moved over enough for the trigger bar to reset)?

Definitely NEED a closeup view!! Need a better camera! Need to show two connectors side by side with before and after bevel mod close ups. Saying "I wish I can show you" doesn't help get the Idea across. Suggest to put a piece of drawer slide tape on the flat to protect the surface from nicking with the file. Its a slightly hard tape and the file will glide off vs dig into the tape.
If i create a slope how much is to much ? If it can be measured a 1/32 1/16 of a inch. A slope must be created then what would be ideal would be to round off the Conners of that slope. I guess as little as possible would ideal so its sitting at like 1deg in the housing...file at 1deg approx. Then round off those corners man that would be hard.
TakeDeadAim I have, finding quality stones is like hunting morel mushrooms. Especially actual quality tool and die makers stones. I have a couple of very fine pieces left over from trade school but have not been able to find anything of that quality except some ceramic stones from Midway. Thanks for your input.
TakeDeadAim Been there, both sites. 1200 is finest grit they have and it is in the larger size stone, looking for the finer grit in the small size stick as seen in this video. Leave a link to that, unless it is ceramic stone which I already have. The ceramics are small like the pinkish colored diamond stone in this vid and are great for the very last polishing pass, but seem to clog so much faster than the other small stones I have that I would like to get more of Thanks again for you concern.
Pretty sure I had you do a trigger job on one of my glocks maybe 5-7 years ago. Did you do some work in florida gun shows? If not you are the doppleganger of another glock guy lol. If so are you still in the area?
@@johnnyglocks Thanks, I installed a new connector and the striker won't drop. The trigger keeps moving back and forth but not dropping the striker. I had to take the back plate off to disassemble the gun. I think the connector is bent to far away. How to I bend it to get it closer, I push on it but it doesn't stay bent?
Excellent! Makes sense. Just like chamfering the leading edge on a 1911 sear. You don't need much, maybe 0.001" taken off that edge. Same thing with the Cruciform I would imagine. Thanks!
You definitely do not want to chamfer the cruciform, it is the sears and you want it to be razor-sharp and straight otherwise your Glock might go into full auto or discharge from even a slight bump.
I'm sorry Johnny, I didn't word the question properly. I was trying to ask what lateral angle is the connector supposed to be so the trigger bar doesn't jump the connector? In other words, how far does the connector need to be away from the housing. Once a connector is set and working, it could be removed, then it's angle measured from the base that is inserted into the housing to the connector's vertical section. Glock ought to have the measurement.

You show a better shot of it on an older video @ 8:47 czcams.com/video/APg96MiLeks/video.html Pull the connector out or in to where it's even with the trigger housing exactly where you're pointing to @ 8:57 I once had a factory set connector in a brand new 19 and the trigger felt like crap. So, I looked at the connector and couldn't believe they let this one get by. It was bent so bad that it was bow-shaped. I just flattened it out, then did the "1,2,3 boom" trick (reversing the connector so it hangs off the trigger housing, then giving it 3 good presses with my thumb,) you show in another video (can't find right now) and it was perfectly positioned, just in line where you show it in this video. The immediate result was the best stock Glock trigger I ever felt and about 1/2 lb lighter.
Great info as always... So I have a 3.0 ghost Angel and could never get it to work right ... Do u know anything about this ? It drops the striker on rest, and that's on the guns I can even get it to function... It has a soft pull like there is potential but something is just not right with these things ... should I give it up for the 3.3 or .....
Josh Zeek I’ve had 2 different Angels and tried in 5 different guns and it didn’t work! Did the same thing yours did, felt it would be unsafe always! I so wanted it to work, the first couple of dry fires felt smooth and light and then it started dropping on reset!
@@ronguay01 I talked to ghost and they said they was doing a redesign but haven't talked to them in a while, the did offer to replace it with a different one tho...
Ok I just called them again , they said they had two prototypes that they were doing the final testing on now so "it won't be long now " is what they said on the replacement
I have done everything that I could to get my P80 43 to work and nothing. When I said everything I literally mean everything and it will not fire at all. All parts are right on but it still will not act right. My P80 G26 was right on point but this P80 43 Was a waste of money and I will never build one of these again.
Does he really expect us to buy and use all these different grit rods? SERIOUSLY? I just knocked out the rough parts with a couple strokes with a fine flat file and used brown polishing compound on a fabric wheel to polish it up! This is just about as bad as the guy who said to use a milling machine to machine off the plastic tabs on a Polymer 80 when I just used a pair of wire cutters (AKA dikes) to take off most of it and finished up with a plain old box cutter!
