I already played the game and it definitely feels like God of war. Don't get me wrong there's no comparison but it has a GOW vibe.
@@Easy420skate umm, no, have you played god of war? its basically copied homework, but the kid changed it a little. The fighting is the exact same and it seems in a way the crafting, armor, and looting and upgrading weapons is basically the same, idk much about the story but it looks like it is based of worlds/realms like god of war, but i may be wrong. Overall I think it is quite a generic off brand of the older series.
This gives me big Anthem vibes. Not putting myself through that again.

The hud and menus, the bar under the health of enemies that fills up when you hit them, the way the characters move reminds me so much of God of War that it feels like a knock off.

I was interested in Godfall but some friends of mine shared their experience, and unfortunately, during a time like this where there are so many better games currently available.. it just has to have a lot more depth for me to invest time into it.
@@brownsuede4413 looks like a game that will get support though. Reminds me of Warframe which was free to play with additional paid content that fleshed out the game mechanics, and lore. Maybe still worth the pick up for some people, plus down the line it could grow into a much better experience. Just needs more depth!

This is why I trust gameranx for review, sure Jake sounded like he didn't like the game but he still makes his review subjective and not overly bash the game for what it is. When some patches comes Im actually interested in buying it (albeit on sale if there's any) I honestly think this is a game for people who wants action stuff and don't want to think overly about the mechanics and strategies too much, you just go in bash things and get out very simple stuff. It feels like a game I would play after work where Im drained and just want to let off some steam.

Combat looks heavily inspired from the newest God of War which I love, art style looks incredible, this game could've honestly been great if story was good, and they treated loot better

This game is one hell of a pallet cleanser, it’s a game that lets you sink some time and fun into. The bosses and missions on hard mode give this game some chesthair and really put the tension on.

i dont know man im playing Warframe for over 7 years and this has nothing to do with it, warframe is nowhere near as random as Godfall
Atleast godfalls combat looks more polished than warframes so godfall outshines in atleast one category
The design of the armor/characters look absolutely amazing. I wonder if more content will be released for this game. If Gearbox wants this to succeed they need to give this game a soul.
First expansion came out 2 weeks ago which also added matchmaking but you have to be level 50 first, if they can keep it updated and fresh the community can grow.
And guess what, weres the soul? Oh yeah the game was dead on arrival on the player base department not to mention that it was a commercial FLOP based on the bad first impressions it gave when it came out. Sorry not sorry, heavily disagree with you

A lot of people hating on loot games... I've been playing them for a long time and, for a long time Diablo clones where the only real loot game types around but in the past 10 years now we have all different kinds of genre added to the loot type game, I think godfall looks good. Will definitely be playing it when ever I can manage to get a ps5.
I would wait on a sale I know I am being a pest but the game at least with diablo you got an interesting story out of it here you get a handful of npcs to talk to and optional lore notes you have to go out of your way to find

So as a farmer of all things legendary I am happy to say it scratches that itch very well. I ve gotten to the mid 30s in level and the different build combinations get better and better the more you level. Given the limited content in it now if done right this game has serious potential.

I feel with the price hike there will be many more games that "aren't quite" worth the price.
Quality of games has been declining in general meanwhile prices have gone up.
Graphics are consistently getting better but that's not a game.
Meanwhile there are indie games that cost criminally low for how good they are... Companies should keep in mind that graphics are *always* secondary to gameplay. The restrictions indie games have lead to innovation and polish that most AAA games really lack these days.

Or you could buy whatever side-stuff most indie games are selling (like the soundtrack in some instances). There's nothing stopping you from buying more except that you'll not get more out of it.

I got Godfall free in "AMD raise the game" offer. I was just about to put that 60 gb game to download, but IGN review dropped and I put that on hold. Got it for free from AMD too. I played the game for 17hrs(half with my friend and half solo) and I think it is worth a try. Godfall is definitely not everyone taste but I do find it's action gameplay is quite interesting once you completely understand how everything works.

Im playing on PS5 and love the combos, the bosses, weapons and style. Looks amazing too. Some of the critiques on loot depth are for those expecting a huge game. There are expansions planned don't forget.

@Adon Smith Not really man. They are always so "soft" when they are reviwing review copys. They try to make all the bad qualities of the games seems way smaller (when they even bring up). Its just different
@@muhammadsaifullah8232 AC games arent bad, they are good RPG's and always give you some story on the assassins (origins with the origins of the assassins, odyssey with the origin of the templars) the problem are the RPG mechanics but if you play the game for the story and wait a few weeks till they patch the bugs and play the game in a relaxed way they are pretty fun. That being said Valhalla has a really big problem in balancing you character with the enemy, you are a god in that game even if you dont try ^^
@@sasukedfg I think the problem with AC games and why I personally won't touch them anymore is the amount bloat they have. There is so much stuff everywhere that it just all feels mundane and unenjoyable. They could save it by having excellent side quests but they don't even try with most of the side quests.
For example you have The Witcher 3, I don't love the question mark littered map in that game but I totally forget about how much I dislike it the moment I find a side quest, because they break up the mundane question mark hunting and are actually really well done and interesting to playthrough. AC just does not have anything like that.

I'll never get tired of grinding colored loot
I remember when I first saw Godfall I was really hype for it. Then after the "conference" ended I started thinking about it more. A hack and slash game, with RPG elements, a loot system, but only like 5 or 6 weapon types. In other words there are 5 or 6 weapons with some having bigger numbers than the others. Yes they said there are legendaries with unique effects, but they will still fall under one of the weapon categories and probably won't change up how you play all that much. It's a bunch of stuff that sounds cool and looks flashy but is ultimately really shallow and unfulfilling.
If you say it like this...The Witcher 3 only had 1 weapon class ;)
I see so many bashing the art and its loot style the art fits what it was trying to do with its theme and loot games cater to people who dont mind grinding and exploring but wtf do i know? I only play all different types of games and always willing to try something new. Is the game good? No, is it because of the loot and art? Hell no. Its because the devs fell short on making it more engaging.

Dude you know what ive realised, whenever i watch a review on a game it always puts me off. I played the game without looking or watching what reviews it got and I actually enjoyed it. Then when i watch the reviews i then realise that the game really did have some faults

I believe the $10 bump is for "live service" the game is supposed to have. Like a dlc or big update. That's what I assume not fact, and not really defending just speculation

Well. This is a very accurate review of the game. I got this game on preorder, and I’ve enjoyed it a lot! It does many things right! First Of al it’s a lot of fun! Combat is freaking awsome and flashy. Enemies feel different from each other, and punishing if you don’t know how to counter them.Your build does matter, unlike other games in the genre. It definitely has a lot of potencial, cause the core combat is great, and they can take the game in a good direction when more content comes out. I would recommend to get it at a discounted price, cause it’s a lot of fun.

I dunno why everyone's ahitting on this game, the arts beautiful, the combats engaging and the skill tree and armour is awesome. Sure it's been done before, but I think it'd keep me entertained for a bit.

I bought it and enjoy it. It’s not the best game, but it’s fun if you like hack and slash games. Although it’s not worth 70 dollars. Maybe like 40? I would recommend if it wasn’t so pricey.

I actually really like this game I've played seven hours since I got it Monday and it's just a lot of fun to like play kind of like Diablo but in 3D
UPDATE: I ended up returning it to Amazon. It's a lot of fun just not as a solely single player game and PS5 has no matchmaking at this time

Its a pretty fun with some good presentation. Combat feels zippy and satisfying and I really love the sound design. My biggest gripe is the weird UI scaling on the menu.

Got it for 50% off yesterday, the *ultimate* edition whatever, seems like a good cool off game, reminds me of Warframe and Darksiders a bit, mixed with god of war, but I can't stress enough how *light and breezy* it feels. Worth the 60ish bucks imo (the goodies and expansion included)

The combat reminds me of Kingdoms of Amalur.
Played both. Godfall this week and kingdoms like a month ago. they are different genres with their combat approach well and gameplay feels different. But they have something in common. They are mediocre.
This clearly will appeal to people who like mmo's pve. Like me. It looks like a beautiful bless unleashed. Potentially that market is bigger than you might think. I personally can't wait to play this!!
