One thing I would really like changed is more distinctiveness to each valorplate. Right now it feels like they're all the same, and changing valorplates don't affect gameplay at all. The archon furies are literally identical and they just provide flat stat boosts. They could also use more work on explaining certain mechanics I think. Overall though I've had a blast today
Agreed Valor plates need more distinguished effects. Really loving late game Valor plate designs though
I am enjoying it a ton (just completed the first Dreamstone a few times for gear), but I agree. I feel like a lot of the "During Archon Fury" passives should just be baseline - maybe with smaller percentages. As it stands, the plate you choose really only matters if you find a good legendary and you want to build all your damage around it or something like that. Archon mode is also distinctly disappointing in the sense it doesn't really feel all that impactful for many of the plates, mainly the elemental/ailment based plates like Mesa, Phoenix, etc.
yeah right now its like: i check whats the highest dmg weapon i have, then i choose the plate with the same element. instead of chosing the plate first and trying to make a build around it.
Hey Arekkz do you plan to do a full review of the game? I'm seeing lots of inconsistent reviews, and I'd love to hear one from somebody I can trust on these kind of games (deep melee combat, build focused co-op game)
Just from face value, I'm not impressed. My biggest issue is that it looks very very linear.

@@simplebryll123 I'm not going by a review, I actually watched a streamer play about 2 hours of it, and just seemed like he was going in a straight line. That being said, I will agree that I am, as I said, making a face value observation.

I was in "please don't suck" mode for this game for months, even right up until yesterday when the first reviews started coming out. I decided to go with it and I like it a lot. My friend and I played nearly 8 hours yesterday and it's a blast.
My biggest complaint so far is that in multiplayer, it's sometimes hard to tell what's going on because there are just an insane amount of effects happening on screen at once. I think a game setting to disable other players' skill effects would be really useful. I'm also annoyed I can't get my PS4 controller to work even if I add the game to Steam.
I love the satisfaction of the combat. Enemies feel much better on hard difficulty. The trailers made them look pretty passive, but those must have been on easy. Enemies get right up in your face, you'll get attacked by sometimes 3-4-5 at once, not like a lot of games where only two enemies attack at the same time.
Also, turn off the "soft target locking" setting immediately. The game feels so much better without that sticky feeling to the camera.
Performance is also fantastically smooth. I'm getting really good frames on a 1070 with the default epic settings and turning off motion blur, lens flare, bloom, etc.
Hey,does updating to newest drivers fix the dx12 issue before launching the game ? ( 1080ti )
I thought my ps4 controller not working was weird, through epic at least ps4 controllers work for borderlands 3 and remnant.. So idk
Same, I read some negatives and positives, but it sounded a lot like what I like since I played quite a bit of Diablo 2, Warframe, Destiny 2 and such. So far enjoyed it a lot and I see myself putting a lot more time to get good gear for many Valorplates. It doesnt' seem like it should be full priced game though, but for something like 40 dollats it seems brilliant.
@@0Charb I'm not sure. I almost always just update to the newest drivers anytime a game comes out so it's worth a shot if nothing else is working.
@@seren7434 Never been able to get any games to work with PS4 controller through Epic except for adding them as a non-Steam game. The other option is always DS4Windows but I don't really like that because it conflicts with Steam controller configurations.

Sadly thats all its got going for honestly. The actual content of the game seems super shallow and even less than what anthem offers or what warframe offered when it first started
Question.
If you like a certain Valour plate at the 3rd level will it be possible to upgrade this to take you through the next levels or will you have to upgrade to another plate with certain skills to be strong enough for the next level.
And you'll need a nice gpu. I'm on a 1080 gtx and had to ratchet it down to med settings for 70 fps for some areas like the earth forest level. Game is super pretty and fun.
I really should have taken a look at the requirements for this game... I only have a GTX 1060 3GB, which hasn't been a problem for any other game than this... I can't even play on low settings.. the max frames I get are around 30 I think,and that's only in some very small areas of the map ...... Now I need to get a new card before I can play Godfall :((((

This seems like they looked at Warframe, liked what they saw, and then decided to pivot based on player base feedback and criticism of a "pay to win" structure. I appreciate what they went for here but there's just not enough to make me as hype as I wanted to be. I'll let it simmer a bit and give them a third chance to win me over, though. I liked Warframe, wanted to like (or even play) Anthem, and I'm willing to see what's under the helmet here.

Dont buy. Its ok.... but no matchmaking for a "coop based" game. So without having friends to play with your solo... and its boring as hell. Maps are made for 3 people
Amazing video and really liking the game so far. Question for you and the community. I am seeing these green glowing rocks when I use spirit vison but I have no idea how to get them. Can't seem to jump in this game and they are always in an impossible to reach place. I am sure I am missing something so if someone could please clue me in I would appreciate it. Are there anyother color options for your valorplate in game other than the preorder bonus? If so, how do I find them?

I've only played about 2 hours but, so far I'm really enjoying the game. It's beautiful, the combat is super fun. I haven't played near enough to get to the "grindy" parts but, I love grindy games so my opinion might be biased. I'm playing it on PC.
Dude I'm almost through the second realm and I'm having a blast. Combat feels so good when you wipe an encounter perfectly, the difficulty is in a good spot for me on hard, I'm so glad I got it.

I can't even afford PS5 much less the game but I'm still interested so I'm just going to watch these. The Valorplates are basically "Warframes" in a MH like settings where you're in a Hub and then venture outside for quests or objectives. Yep... I really wish I could play the game for myself.
How do I unlock the ability to use pole arms if for example I I could only equip swords?
I know it's not getting stellar reviews but damn if it doesn't look like a lot of fun to play with some really nice visuals.
When you are farming, how do you get back onto the monolith?

None of the weapons have enough combos to warrant such vids, the combos are the same across each weapon, just with different animations, lol.
what is the red display in the middle (min 4:30) at the bottom of the screen? I see it in almost every video but it does not appear during my playthrough and I fear that I am missing key mechanics. Is it due to the valor plate or the weapon I am using? Grateful for any help!
Sometimes I see green items on top of hills out of reach. I have tried throwing my shield but cant reach them. How do I get these items?
Hey Arekks or anyone that sees this comment... Would starting this game on the highest difficulty be a bad idea or is the game too easy on normal? Then again, idk how you choose difficulties, do you choose at the beginning of a mission or when you start a new game or what? I prefer games difficult over being too easy...
I was so hyped for this game and was so ready to play yesterday the minute I came home.... It runs terrible on my PC, and I can't even play it on very low graphics... I should have looked at the system requirements before I bought it, because I only have 3GB GPU, which has never been a problem, and I could play almost every game I played on at least high graphics, but this is way too demanding ..... I'm very sad now :( Now I can't play until I get a new graphicscard :(

Bought it on pc, having audio issues literally no sound coming out. Sooo frustrating
im trying to make a weakpoint build but i just cant hit weakpoints and i dont know how. even at the dummy in the testroom i cant. do they just appear randomly with a % chance or what? idk, this mechanic seems to be so bad.
4:40 changed my entire view of this games combat after seeing how fast the polearm and dual blades are.
From what I seen all the gameplay looked really slow. But I'm glad to see that's just the weapon types.
If i can have dual blades and polearm equipped at the same time that looks like fun.
Dont know why but I get god of war vibe from this game think it the HUD and the combat kinda look similar

I was thinking the same thing. I feel like people just gravitate to popular titles, but new IP's get rough treatment. This game to me, seems like it has exactly what a game of this genre should have. I'm really enjoying it so far tho!!
I mean .......the game is 70 dollars .....I think the customers are entitled to have some expectations when sinking that kind of money and as nice as this game looks ....it looks a bit .......empty won't lie ......was gonna pick it up cuz I like loot grinding but after seeing it more I'm probably gonna wait and see how it gets updated a few months from now
@@slaminjamin3549 yes but those prices arent set by the devs and if customers knew the actual amount of work it takes to create what they want we wouldn't have this problem. It's bad expectation management all around. I have been on the development scene for a while and that's the number 1 issue. The SDLC and process for some of these games arent realistic for the type of outcome customers want and them wanting to charge that much. And even good games that are cheap dont matter. Dont forget lawbreakers which was a good game that literally failed from marketing
@@slimzztv9963 I mean ......im not a developer ....im a customer .....I can appreciate what I can see ......im sure the anthem devs worked hard too ....im sure the people working on it wanted to succeed.....im sure that publisher pressure to stick to strict deadlines makes games rushed.....and I can see how people get mad when games actually get delayed for fixing ( like cyberpunk death threats fiasco ) .... ..but all that being said ......im still the average customer who can't realistically drop 60 or 70 on every game that looks mildly interesting.......godfall looks really beautiful.......but right now it just looks like prettier warframe with less customization options .......this a saturated release window with cyberpunk n outriders out next month and valhalla n watchdogs out a little while before........so as a customer I'd rather wait for the game to get the updates it needs and buy for a bit cheaper down the line and invest my money in something that looks more complete .......im not saying godfall is a bad game.......im just seeing a destiny 2 launch edition type of deal here ......the bones of a good game is here ....just needs more content and fleshing out
@@slaminjamin3549 I'm not telling you to buy it I'm saying as a developer that's the big issue in the gaming world. It literally looks like warframe with a great budget I'll check it out later but as a dev I just fell bad before I get angry because I have that unique insight and I wish there was a way to get that knowledge base across the board and it might fix future gaming. It's a mix of shitty standard business practices and poor quality set if expectations. Hopefully they figure it out soon.

As far as Valorplates go, Orin is the best in my opinion. You do so much damage with your abilities that having them charge faster is just a straight DPS boost. They really dropped the ball with giving them any sort of unique character. As far as upgrading weapons "allowing them to remain viable throughout the game"... not so much. You can drop a bunch of resources upgrading and enchanting a weapon and two or three levels later you find something better. One thing I liked about Destiny was that you could sacrifice a high level weapon to boost a lower level one. That really did make it so you could find a good weapon with the stats you like and really bring it into end game.
I know the comment is 2 years old but ORIN is the protagonist name , all valorplates have different names :D The valorplate with which you start the game is called Silvermane. There is no Valorplate called Orin. :)
Arekkz can you do a video on the Augments of the Valorplates? I haven't quite figured out how they work. Or if someone could comment here and explain that would be appreciated.

I’ve had many struggles on PC, as well as my friends, possibly isn’t quite optimized yet? Only time will tell.
You need to update to the godfall drivers that were released. Im running this game buttery smooth 70-90 fps 1440p on epic. No issues here.
@@87mjung yeah, drivers updated, running fantastic on medium settings thank you! but lighting seems to be extremely bright even after tuning it down including lens flare and bloom, any solution or is that common

For us starting now, how do i return to the Sanctuary when I start a mission.
Like lets say I finished the first mission where I killed the first mini boss in the earth area. I went back, and after few hours I went back in couse I wanted to complete a PYLON 3/3 bonus objective, I finish that, and I tried to find a way back to the Sanctuary but there is NONE, I then clicked ABBANDON MISSION (left top was written only EXPLORE THE REALM and nothing else.
I went back to check if the pylon was still completed and ofc it WASN'T so how should I do it?!
I keep getting lost and going around in circles looking for the third hidden object every time. I finally just give up because I just can't tell which direction to look. Is there some kind of clue I'm missing?

Several things so far that are quite a disappointment or lack serious polishment (playing on PC with a friend):
- no inter-attack parry or blocking of attacks possible, you must finish the attack animation before you can use your shield
- you cannot add a key combo attack unless you let go of LMB or RMB and start attacking again with the wanted key combo or else the attack will just continue without the key modfier. This is a huge bummer to any battle flow aswell as the shield block problem
- you cannot see your own buffs, nervs and/or mutlipliers which are applied in combat, weak points are nearly impossible to hit
- there is no ingame map, so for any bonus mission (search for this etc.) so will run circles more than finding what you are searching for, ghost vision is a neat future but it not a replacement for a map (like on earth realm "Find and destroy two additional beacons" - it was hell to find those two
- make a diffenrentiation between optional mission goals and mandatory ones, there is no way to distingiush those
- Got stuck to a chest twice and had to restart the whole mission
- no matchmaking, this will make the game dull quickly and will make it boring rather quick

Played about 15h atm, here is what i can add
Can't really see what ailment does and how to scale their damages
Multiplayer is a pain in the A, you can get desync and being unable to interact with anything giving you no choice but to restart
Sometimes the objective of a mission dont show anymore for some reason and since there is no map you have to run for 10 min in circle
After you complete a mission you unlock a node that you can replay, objective in thoose missions are crap, you have to run 1km to a point to kill 3 enemies, then 300m just for a checkpoint and going back where you come from
I really hope they'll update the game and don't let it in the current state cause i really feel like i wasted my money at the moment

One thing that should be added to the beginner's guide is: The end game is super buggy and most of the time if you die in the Tower in end game, all the enemies just sit there and quit moving. On top of this, the gear doesnt actually get better in the end game than in the other lvl 50 content, so its basically a waste of time since it takes longer to get good loot than just running through mission quickly.
I think I’ll give it a shot. I’ll be buying on Epic so it’s only $60 for PC players. Download it while I’m waiting for a PS5.

Is the game really that heavy for older machines? I was thinking to get the game, but my pc may struggle .
Yes, it's quite heavy. If you are not so picky, you can play it with a GTX 1050, I7-7700 and 16 GB of RAM at the lowest specs
@@JesusMendoza-qz3ql Im running on gtx 970, FX8350, 16gb ram. I will have to wait till i do my pc upgrade then. Just waiting for ryzen 5 5600x to be back in stock and upgrade around it.
Got it on pc, has great potential. It starts off stiff because you literally have no powers and weapons but then booom it starts getting rewarding. Play it!

For a game that says it supports Ultra Wide, it definitely doesn't support it properly. Hope they fix it so I can play it.
Its not as terrible as everyone says it is, but good melee games are hard to do. The looter slasher thing is awesome, we need more like it...just made by a studio that is good at melee. Like Team Ninja, From Software, or Sony Santa Monica

While I know that you have an international audience. Those of us in the U.K. can’t play it yet. Not for another week. Can we get hold of it? Yes. Amazon have it in stock but it’s kind of just a pretty disc with out the console to play it on.

My cpu struggles a bit to run this game 😄 it’s a bit annoying occasionally lagg and I gotta run everything on low I got an i5 with a 1660 graphic with low ram . 60hz monitor :(((( so my cpu uses up like 60-70% on all low graphics and no background applications idk what to do but I really wish I can run better looking game

Blows me away that it's a multi-player game with no matchmaking. I actually really wanted to play this, but none of my friends have a ps5 yet... No matchmaking just feels so counter intuitive when it's a launch game for a new console. Not everyone is gonna have the console, so people need some kind of matchmaking to get the most out of it in regards to multi-player.

It's like Warframe but better. You can't just pay money for the best frames. Don't get me wrong. Warframe is great but this seems "cleaner". I like the style of this a bit more too. Warframe is way more over the top. Great video though Arekkz. I really hope this game does well because it is from the same Dev as one of my favorite card games ever being Duelyst from Counterplay games. Also, Gearbox being part of it means the uniques and loot will be top-notch.
Ill just wait a year then get the game
