    That painter might actually be Hans Liska
    en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hans_Liska
    I remember seeing some of his drawings/paintings from the Greek campaign.

      Doesn't look old enough. Liska was in his 30s in 1941.
      Germany employed a lot of artists to document the war along with photographers are part of their propaganda ministry. They probably travelled around together.

    What most people dont know is that delay to go to Greece Cost Germany Dear. It put back the invasion of Russia and they would have been in Moscow before the bad winter weather hit them in December 41 and perhaps won them the Eastern war!

      Es sind mehrere Punkte dafür verantwortlich nicht nur die Sache mit Griechenland
      Der Afrikafeldzug war so nie geplant aber die Italiener haben es vermasselt und die Deutschen mussten aus helfen
      Punkt 2
      Der Nichtangriffpakt zwischen Japan und den Russen vom Oktober 1941
      Der machte eine Menge Russische Soldaten mobil fast 1.5 Million die dann vor Moskau zum Einsatz kamen natürlich mit winterausrüstung

      Because at that time not all cameras had mics i guess

      @@agr2190 That is correct. At the time no handheld film camera had sound, it required a separate reel to reel tape recorder.
