Hello. Greetings from Cyprus. I see that you have a nice selection of pre-Republic stamps from the years in which Cyprus was still a colony of the crown. Allow me to share some information about my island related to some points that you mention in your video. Cyprus never has been part of the so called Greek Republic even if the biggest part of the population call himself Greek and expressed the wish to be part of Greece (unification fights). We share history, language, national hymn and a lot of aspects of our culture and everyday life but Cyprus since 1960 is an Independent Republic. Three years later, in 1963 first political conflicts began between Greek Cypriots and Turkish Cypriots, conflicts that end with the Turkish invasion of 1974, an invasion that for the Turkish site was a result of instability in the island. Since 1974 the island is divided in two parts. There are also some extra zones mainly controlled by United Nations and United Kingdom. Yes Cyprus has two areas that are named British Territories. Since early 80 s' the so called Turkish Republic of North Cyprus, a Republic that any other country except Turkey recognizes started its own postal services and print every year its own stamps with similar themes to ours (mean Republic of Cyprus). Cyprus postal services issue every year a number of 15-25 stamps with main themes Nature, History, Famous Persons etc. The main themes that are issued every year are Europa Stamps (early in May usually two stamps), Euromed (early in July, one stamp) and Christmas Stamps (mid November two-three stamps). The so called refugee stamp (0,02 euros price since 2008) is issued every year since late 70s' as a respect for people that died during Turkish invasion (every year the stamp has a different color). In all the packages, envelopes or other postal items that are sent from Cyprus the refugee stamp has to be used obligatory at least once. Sorry for my long text. Again thank you for showing some stamps from my island, Cyprus.

Carob can be bought as a powder and it is like a cocoa. I have not had in a long time. I will have to check my grocery or health food store. And you have half of my favorite omnibus set The Silver Wedding. Cyprus is currently divided in half. The northern portion is Turkish and the southern portion is Greek. Only the southern portion is internationally recognized. Zeno was a philosopher.

I am watching again the video. Allow me to mention few extra things
on 3:03 I see a nice cancellation from Vatili village situated in Famagusta District (Gazimagusa in turkish - North part of the island)
on 3:40 you show two stamps that look the same. The second without the monarch was issued in 1934, the other one with the monarch in 1938
on 6:10 you show an overprint issued in 1960, year that Cyprus become an independent country
on 7:30 Zenon of Kition (Larnaca), a famous philosopher. This year (2021) issued a stamp for fifty years of diplomatic relations with China. One of the figures shown on the stamp is Zenon.

Yes, sorry for being unresponsive, I did receive it over a week ago now but haven't had time to do much with stamps for a few weeks, real life is getting in the way. I haven even peaked in it yet but hope to find some time this weekend but it's probably 50/50.

Cyprus is an independent country but half of it is occupied by Turkey which invaded in 1974.
