  • Captured here is the Greater Stockholm Fire Brigade (Storstockholms Brandförsvar) responding out of Kungsholmen Fire Station in the center of the Swedish capital city. This fire station is unique, as it houses one of the only rescue dive teams in the whole region around the city. The firefighters here were exceptionally friendly and welcoming, they even brought me and my friend ‪@Firescue112‬ coffee and cake after seeing us waiting outside for a response! On top of that, we got a great tour of the station and made friends with one of the firefighters, who later gave me a short 'ride along' clip for my channel, which you can see in this video. All in all, Stockholm was a blast!
    Let me know what you think of the Swedish fire trucks in the comments!

    I kid, great catches😜
    I've always loved the lighting on the Scandinavian countries truck's- sleek or low profile, but bright. Bonus it's almost always Scania. You can also definitely hear them coming too.

      Haha thank you! Nope, this fire station in particular was super frustrating for me and my friend Firescue112. We stayed close to this station, so we always stopped by there for a few hours every day, and were NEVER successful until the very last day of the trip lol 😆
      Oh yes, Scandinavia knows how to deck out its trucks! I wish HK would take it as an example in terms of lighting and siren volume haha

      Yes, generally speaking European trucks are more compact and smaller in size. They have to be smaller for the narrower roads in European cities.

    I would be shocked if they were busy. Safety & prevention legislation as well cultural norms related to responsible behavior would not lead to many incidents. Stockholm Fire Brigade is relatively small for a major city but the investment in keeping them bored is significant. Examples: When visiting northern EU states, I found all electrical plugs & sockets are 3-prong, no extension cords, buildings are sturdy & fire resistant, etc, etc. The legal limit for blood alcohol while driving in Sweden is 0.02% unlike the USA where 0.08% is common.

      How is that possible?! Did you never go there for filming? I have to say Stockholm was the easiest city for filming in Scandinavia that I visited.

    • @EnjoyFirefighting
      @EnjoyFirefighting Před 2 lety +3

      @@TGGGlobalEmergencyResponses I did ... the one and only emergency vehicles I saw with lights and sirens was at a time before I started filming; I shot some pictures with my first digital camera back then, but that's quite some time ago.
      I still remember that I stayed at a campsite outside Stockholm. The local station went there for an outdoor gym session in the early morning hours; as they returned to the truck they wanted to unlock it but the car alarm went off - which in case of the fire truck was its siren, blaring across the entire campsite :D
      Back then some stations still had the US pickup based apparatus
      All the times I went there later on I was waiting at various stations but never saw any sort of apparatus movement, not even apparatus returning from a previous call.
      From my personal experience filming in the Norwegian cities of Trondheim and Oslo was far easier. On my very first visit in Trondheim I was able to record a heavy rescue truck, water rescue van, engine, ambulance, battalion chief and aerial responding to 5 different calls within a few hours;
      In Oslo, with them running the country's busiest fire truck, it didn't take long until that specific truck was dispatched to a call. Was also able to film a double heavy rescue response on the very same day
      I honestly haven't the slightest clue why I never was able to film any sort of emergency vehicle in Stockholm so far.
      However it's indeed sth I experienced in another Swedish city as well: Gothenburg, they have a large scale fire station covering the downtown area and some of the busiest highway sections. I went there year after year after year without seeing any emergency response, but only a few years ago I was finally able to record 2 turnouts

    • @EnjoyFirefighting
      @EnjoyFirefighting Před 2 lety +3

      @@TGGGlobalEmergencyResponses since I always have my dashcam on I have to correct my previous statement: last summer I was able to record an ambulance in Stockholm ... a "breathtaking" video of a few seconds as the ambulance goes southbound on the highway as I went northbound. Not really worth mentioning, but yeah that's all I ever recorded in Stockholm

  • @emergencyvideosstockholm8315

    Awesome! video! I do yet have to visit this station though.. I've waited at Östermalm a few times but no calls :( I've also waited at Haninge Fire Station but still no calls. And also Tyresö for a short time but still no calls. Guess just some bad luck.

      @TGGGlobalEmergencyResponses  Před 2 lety

      Thank you! I would say don’t give up, it can take a few hours sometimes, but you will get them. There will be times when you show up and they get a call almost immediately 😄
