After looking up the Natchez Trace, I realize I caught it heading south out of Nashville one morning by accident a few years ago. I recall a beautiful June morning, a little microdose and a puff on a Doobie, full cup of coffee, headed south. That is a beautiful drive. I had no idea it went through most of Mississippi though! Cool.

Gosh I miss you. After we parted in College Station I went to Natchez Mississippi museum and rode the full length of the Natchez Trace. I stopped at every information pullout and walked back on some of the trails. One of my favorites was Rocky Springs where over 2,000 people used to live and now all you can see are two safes and two water wells. I also went down where the family was enjoying the waterfalls. It was all magic. It took over a week including falling in love with a barmaid at the Sunset Grill across from the Goshen Springs campground. I have 4 videos on my Trace ride. The Squirrel Gets It video was on the trace and started out being a short silly video but ended up making another biker friend and found his lost cell phone so that video morphed into something it wasn't supposed to be. Toward the north end there was a place where you can ride on a section of the actual Old Natchez Trace, that was magical for me and did a video on that too. I loved riding the Natchez Trace so much that I want to ride it again from the other direction.
Hoping to head for warmer southern Texas by weeks end. Keep up the good work buddy! Maybe we can ride together again someday?
Southern Texas gets really cold, lots of heavy wind, and a lot of rain. Southern Florida is the only place in the US that stays warm all winter - nights included 🙂
@@scootertrampscotty Thanks for that. I like learning from other people's experiences instead of my own experiences/mistakes. Victorville CA at my brothers right now. A friend just contacted me about Imperial Dam LTVA north of Yuma. I've never done LTVA land so my go break bread with him and check it out for a little while.

I enjoyed it as is … it’s real… I’m from Canada and I’ve parked my bike already and I’m starting to miss the freedom… seeing your camp spots and old buildings is great… it looks like the engine you put in is running strong and smooth for you…. I enjoy seeing the people who have kind hearts and big souls that makes life as a gypsy on an Ironhorse (as I call it) more enjoyable. 🤙🤙

Cool watching a video about the Natchez Trace. 1st one. When you showed all those trees on the ground it looked like maybe a tornado ripped through the area, As far as music. It's like an elevator, the music keeps one's mind occupied or it can set a mood or tone. dunt dunt dunt DA!

It was a good Scenic run not a lot of curvier up and down but nice scenery. Nothing against other people's music but if I want to listen to music while you're cruising I'll just play a little in the background that is if you don't mind my interest in music changes kind of like the scenery around me I like to change it up. Been getting itchy feet here lately I got a son in Florida I think I'll go visit over Christmas then maybe cut over to Texas for a little while cross your fingers for good weather safe travels
Southern Florida's the only place in the US I've stayed that's warm all winter. Southern Texas gets cold, mostly constant winds, and plenty of rain.
Dont mind it but noticed i seen a lot of these videos and have not had a phone for a year. We will meet up. I work summers in northern az at 9000 feet. Heat dont kill me that high. I dont envy many people but you i am proud to admit i do you. I been homeless and a biker but never them together. Ppl dont understand money is nothing. I been rich i use to take it as a challenge to spend my money before i got paid. Im 40 something and worked more hours than most normal ppl that are retired. I died at 32 like i predicted by my dreams but woke up wasnt expecting that. The beat yeara of my life so far was being homeless traveling the country helping the ones that needed it. Your lifestyle is my dreams.

I rode that about 5years ago mid summer its a nice ride we rode it south from Nashville to jackson miss we camped one night then got caught up in a huge thunderstorm and had to stay in a motel in jackson

I am always amazed by your ability to connect with strangers. Hells Bells I have difficulty connecting with friends some times. Thanks for taking me along. I'm in the no music camp.
Loneliness can be a real problem out here. My social skills where not good before. But long ago the pain or real loneliness forced me to learn how to meet folks quickly and easily. I remember thinking how fortunate I was to have to be learning such things. One of the things I tried, and still practice to this day for its great results, is that when I meet someone i begin talking to them just as though we'd already been friends for years. I once read that everyone is afraid of everyone else and people are so busy feeling their own fear they don't realize the other persons. But most everybody needs to have friends and when they see I can be one they're most often very receptive.

2nd time watching this video because I really dig the riding parts. Nothing wrong with the other parts but I do prefer to see the cool areas that you go through. It's inspiring for sure and I'm heading out right now for a couple hundred miles because of it.
I live by the Ross Barnett Reservoir area of the Natchez Trace and ride it every chance I get. There’s a nice nature trail that wraps around a swamp with old trees and also a biker bar at Ratliff Ferry that serves great food. Yes that was a tornado that ripped through a few years back

WATCH OUT FOR " WIDOW MAKERS " WHEN IN THE WOODS. You may already know this, but they are overhead branches that can break and fall onto your tent or camp possibly causing serious damage or even death. Long time hiker and outdoorsman " not so much now " but have had a couple close calls over the years from falling branches. Just a heads up my friend.....be safe.

That was a great rally. Last I was there it had kinda outgrown the town though. Aint been there for quite a while. Maybe its calmed down some.
Don't change a thing with ur videos. No music while riding, it fits some but wouldn't fit yours IMO! I know these are older videos, I've seen them all! That guy who wanted you to hang out you met at Mcdonalds stayed in a camper in a field. I remember watching that video.

You don’t need music Scotty. What you do need is a really good microphone so that we don’t have to hear the wind, but we could hear the sound of that Harley doing its thang. “The sound of freedom”
I doubt they make such a thing. Wind noise is mostly a problem at higher speeds.
Scott I have a go pro mount off of my sissy bar and one on my corvette.. what you need is called the "go pro media mod" it is a case that also has a front and rear microphone and a wind cancelation foam on it. It works great it's a boutique 130 at best buy
Definitely play some beautiful soothing music as you travel down the byways. On your rice burner, pink poodle aboard, and keeping it 5 mph below the posted limits. Staying at all the designated camp, and rest stops along your way. Better yet, find me the best motels that include rocking chairs. Let us pledge never..never pee outside of a designated facility again!

No music. I hate the dj youtubers. Have you ever riden the blue ridge parkway around or through the Roanoke Virginia area? I used to love riding that on my motorcycle or my bicycle. Of course at the time my bicycle and motorcycle both cost me about the same $8,500.00 I was pretty serious into competitive tour de France style cycling. I used to climb the peaks mountain road, and the climb to mill mountain along the parkway 2 or 3 times a week. It's pretty amazing on a motorcycle too tho. Much easier.
I got to ride one of those bicycles once. Way different from any others!

Your stealth camping skills are top notch! Do you ever have a desire for a lighter, more maneuverable bike? I ask because i went from a HD dresser to a BMW airhead in the 1980s for greater ease getting back into the trees.😂
No. Im in this for the relaxed enjoyment of the ride and nothing compares to a bagger for that. Also, these older Electra Glides are the lightest baggers out there. 100 lbs lighter than the new ones with the fat back tire. If you've ever seen one without the fairing, gas tank, seat, etc then you know that the bike itself is really small. But hell, they're all top heavy once you pack a ton of gear on em. I also ride well and manage to stuff this thing into places it was never meant to go.
