- The Tundra has gone through some big upgrades from Toyota for 2022. The 1794 Edition brings western luxury to battle the Ford F-150 King Ranch, Chevrolet Silverado High Country and Ram Laramie. On the outside you will notice new styling, Mesquite paint, 20in wheels, and stationary running boards. On the inside you will be welcomed by a new 14in infotainment screen, 12in digital, and tons of amenities. Under the hood is a 3.5L twin-turbo V6 Hybrid mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission. Is the 2022 Toyota Tundra 1794 Edition a BETTER truck than a Ram Laramie?

Ram Longhorn is their western themed rig. The Ram Big Horn would compete against the SR5.
I like the grille (shocker) and that color is gorgeous! It'd be nice to see brown make a comeback with exterior car/truck colors.

Man, this hits almost all the marks to me. Iâve always liked the style of the 1794 but I think this one has brought it to another level. Really nice interior with a lot of smart choices for the customer. If it was my money it would be a tough decision between this and a King Ranch. Now if I could only come up with $68k! Lol đ
I work at ford and trust me you would be better off with this 1794 for sure itâs a lot more luxurious WAY more affordable and most importantly more reliable đđđŻ

The electric running boards are optional on 1794 and standard on Capstone. Aside from the wastegate issues (which will most likely be addressed with a recall soon) this is a huge upgrade and if I am going to buy a Hybrid truck, itâll be from Toyota who knows a thing or two about reliable hybrids.

I don't like trucks but seen this truck makes me realize is not that i don't like trucks is that the right truck just came along.

Tundra failed to address tow hocks, some issues with the newly designed twin turbo and some body cosmetic quality control minor stuff. If Toyota addresses these points it will dominate itâs class.
One more thing. The new 2022 GMC Denali ultimate is amazingly done

That white interior is the perfect choice for out on the ranch! Interior color will quickly be custom matched to whatever dirt color you have at your ranch! That's a touch you just don't see with any other manufacturer.
Absolutely love the hybrid 1794 then reality kicked me right in the face so I bought the 2023 hybrid Limited Tundra in Mesquite brown great review with a great sense of humor as always

I would choose this over the Capstone trim although I think the Ram 1500 Longhorn Limited is their urban cowboy trim, not the Bighorn.

I was about to add this comment, Longhorn is definitely the ranch edition from Ram, the Bighorn is a lower trim with no ranch theme! I would personally go with the Longhorn as itâs my favorite truck though this Tundra is very nice and competitive!

Toyota in general is known for QUALITY and DEPENDABILITY compared to RAM. Just my 2 cent opinion. So I would prefer to buy the Toyota Tundra compared to RAM. This interior is stunning. I'd never get a luxury trim level truck for any kind of work. I'd be too worried I'd ruin the beautiful leather, especially the white leather seats đđ€Ł

I keep finding 2022 1794's but can't find a dealer anywhere that has a used one with the TRD package on it like this truck. I want one with the 20" wheels but do not seem to see one anywhere. Thanks for the great review though!

Ordered mine with the chrome inserts on the tailgate. Opted to not get the TRD package on the 1794 because you canât package it with the automatic side steps :(

You keep saying big horn from Ram, Ram's cowboy truck that is fully cowboy'd out is the longhorn. The big horn is a lower end version truck, From the lineup.
You need to get an auction men cos you going make them sales go well. Good jobđ€đŸ
You can get the electric running boards as an option but you have to give up the TRD Package. You can however, get them as standard with the Advanced package which gives you the air suspension, the electric step on the back and heads up display too.
You can also have the Tundra logo on the tailgate in chrome or black as an option.
My 1794 should be ready in April, went for Army green, Advanced package and TRD skidplate amongst other options.

Things may have changed. I did get the go rhino electric running boards as an option for my â23 1794.

Great video. Can you do a demo of the hybrid and how it's used? Specifically, I've heard it can run electric on low speeds and gas engine kicks in at higher speeds? True??
All Toyota hybrids work that way. You can drive âslowlyâ in EV mode up until 24mph then gas kicks in automatically

I can appreciate the enthusiasm, but you could at least get the name right for the Ram trimâŠItâs the Laramie Longhorn, not the bighorn. The bighorn is a lower level trim than the Laramie and 2 levels lower than the Laramie LonghornâŠđ€ŠđŒââïž

@@vinilv1 I may have missed it but what are the low quality materials in the Tundra? The genuine wood, or genuine leather, the stitching maybe? I donât know. I own an F-150. I have hollow sounding scratchy black plastic that flexes when you put pressure on it.
@@2004cyrus they probably give you leather as an option in their highest trim in the Tundra. Toyotas have fake leather on most of their vehicles and their trims.

Of coarse itâs better the the Ram. It doesnât matter what amount of gizmos are packed into a Ram, they will inevitably fail as soon ( or sooner ) that the warranty expires.
Front end is hideous!!!....they should keep the v8 like ford...push the v6 but if a guy wants a v8 he should be able to get it
