This was for the promotion X-Brand Wrestling. The show is up on IWTV. The wrestler is a friend of mine, North Korean Assassin, who trained at the AWA school way back when. The wrestler who blew the fire was Shadow WX, who is a legend in Japan and has done this spot a million times. Unfortunately, the weather was crazy hot that day, all the water on his shirt evaporated, and no one expected it to go that way. Terrible accident. He's been in the hospital getting surgeries, etc. Basically he just trusted Shadow WX because dude has been doing this spot for years. I don't think he'll ever be doing that again, or trusting that someone knows what they're doing.

The guy blowing the fire is Shadow WX who is a bit of a legend and it's depressing to see him in this.
Anyhoo, they are trying to reenact a spot from a Big Japan match between WX and Dutch's pal Mike Samples.
WX set his shirt on fire and went for a splash but the same thing happened as what happened in this clip. Burnt him to a crisp and he was taken out of the building immediately.
Some real Darwin Award stuff.
Edit: I'd also like to hear any Mike Samples stories Dutch has. Despite being largely unknown he had a pretty crazy career behind the scenes.
