Hey man, just wanted to say I found you through your 2012 season video, and I must say, your speech patterns and sentence structure have improved dramatically. You sound a lot clearer and you deliver information more concisely than you did just a few months ago. Your improvements have been huge, and your videos are much better as a result.
I try to listen and take nothing serious. It comes down off cuff talking vs scripting. I couldn’t not work for 100 hours and make 4-6 videos a month . But now I can! Come season time, you all will be blown away. Thanks for the criticism as well as the encouragement. Means a lot

Can I just say that I absolutely love this channel? You're always quick to react to important information but never in a superficial or surface-level way, you always go beyond what other youtuber channels and even a lot of Automotive media typically do. You cut all the fluff and give us solid content all the way through, but it never feels rushed - you hit every relevant point but don't beat around the bush. The content is always really engaging and I frequently find myself re-watching videos because of how information dense and enjoyable they are.
I'm a very new fan of formula 1, I only started watching in 2017 and it was through youtube rather than other media that I actually first gained an interest. I have been so grateful to your F1 wars series filling me in on so much history and legacy that I missed before coming to the sport, and I am consistently impressed by the professionalism, level of detail and storytelling in your catalogue of videos. I think a lot of people will immensely enjoy something without necessarily writing about it, so I'm sure there are plenty more people in the same boat as me when it comes to loving your content, but I really wanted to take a moment to thank you for the content you produce, and to say how excited I am to see what's more to come! This is gonna make a very interesting championship with all the European races in the summer, Mercedes tend to not do as well in very hot conditions and Silverstone and Catalunya are gonna be very hot in August so we could have a very close championship with Mercedes, Ferrari, and Red Bull all having a good shot the first 8 races

The good news is that in the UK we will get more Free to Air live footage of F1.
they just answered that on their new Q&A - no additional free live to air. which is absurd to me. it's a business I get it but this feels obscene though I do understand where they are coming from. They need to increase coverage or reporting then like other sports. I don't get their strategy team or why they have their head up their own assess all the time. just give mark hughes his own prime spot - call up Crofty to do "Crofty's Corner" for free post race analysis on the channel. Give Karun his own show. Hell, I'll take a show haha
@@CYMotorsport I wonder how this will play out. UK law protects certain British traditional sporting events from being shown behind a ppv or subscription and have to be available on free to air channels.
The Grand National, F.A. Cup final, The Open Golf, Wimbledon and the British F1 GP are a few sporing events which are protected. With there being two British F1 GP, I wonder if both will be shown on free to air.

It’s just ironic the amount of team bosses on record last season hating the triple header. Now we do it TWICE in 8 weeks. I’m legit concerned about pit stops and general safety. They barely sleep on GP weekend. I know a couple travel out crew and it’s gnarly how intense they are.
In the triple headers 2 of the 3 races take place at the same track, so it is not as stressful on the teams
It’s about the stress of always on. Not the travel IMO. I work 16-20 hours a day on editing sprints for these. Just bc I don’t leave doesn’t mean it’s not stressful haha but I hear ya
The exhaustion from the previous triple header came mostly from the travel they had to do. Now they'll be a the same track for 2 weeks and then they'll move to just one other race. So I don't think it'll be too hard on the crew.
I disagree. The talk was about how GP weekend you are always on. Travel isn’t hard for the teams. They are away from family, that was the rhetoric atleast I saw quoted. My talking to people on there crews that travel is being away from home is brutal but it’s how alert you must be Thursday night - Sunday.

triple headers ok because 2 of the 3 are at the same circuit... there is no transportation, they could even go back home for a few days if they want to
it's less about travel and more about the "go go go " mentality for that many weeks straight. atleast IMO
I'd be surprised if they don't do a race at Melbourne given how well Australia is handling Corona in general.

Yeah he's going to hit it likely. that's a super interesting topic though I've tried to explore and can't crack. I guess it makes sense when I think about like another sport I support. You're healthy about it rooting for other drivers as opposed to some people actively rooting he fails. I like your take to root other drivers perform better.

I’m not confident we’re getting a Brazilian Grand Prix 😭 The daily cases are getting just as bad as in the U.S., which I’m not confident will be in this year’s calendar either
US i'm pretty sure we're good to go. politics is now trumping (no pun) health in many ways and money talks here, for better or for worse. Brazil I think is a go only bc the state has positioned liability on F1 if they cancel. That's a HUGE line item they now need to pay if they don't send the grid there. I personally thought they should cancel the entire season but it's obvious malone wasn't going to float them THAT much

In this short season it might go either way! I am hoping for crazy season with last race championship decider instead of Mercedes winning first 4-5 races and clinching the titles
Merc always pace themselves in development. I’m eager to see what they do when they can be the well oiled machine they are. Part of me (most of me) thinks they are weaker on these circuits but part of me recognizes they purposefully withhold key updates. They might be stronger than ever by silverstone. So many wild cards, that’s what I love!
Supercross does 17 rounds in 18 weeks and then they do 12 Nationals over 15 weeks that's 19 races in 23 weeks all over America every year moving all their equipment back and forth. Their bases are in SoCal. I don't want to hear Horner whining about 3 races back to back to back.

@@CYMotorsport I realize that there is a ton more equipment to move. Maybe MotoGP is a better example. They do 3 races in 3 weeks and have a ton of equipment too. I'm still hot at the way Horner and RB have treated JEV, Sainz, and Gasley. But especially Renault. Renault took them to 4 straight double title and they were behind Mercedes and Ferrari at the start of the hybrid era. They still deserved better and weren't the sole reason Red Bull weren't winning.

Nobody ever talks about Bottas. Its about HAM, VES & LEC. But bottas is 2ns a lot. but totally forgotten.
From what ive heard being talked about in the paddock, i dont think merc is very happy with this season and how liberty are trying to run it. They seriously feel their title run is under threat.
I will be shocked if Merc wins. I already had Ferrari winning and I’m rarely considered a Ferrari fan boy haha. But this start is TOUGH for them. Arguably Baku and Bahrain 2019 was all Ferrari anyway but I’d watch out for max. Conservatively they should get 16 in but these 8, IF Lewis pulls out ahead it’s can’t get by much
If ferrari had sainz this season i would put my money on them all day, but with how vettel has performed in the hybrid era i feel like they have an equal shot as redbull do. Once this season gets under way i really do think its gonna be a banger and seriously unpredictable.

two different precedents haha I'm with you though. Frankly, I kinda disagree with the notion that it's "too hard" on personnel. I list it as a risk bc I know people do like holiday. Not a perfect comparison, but it would be like me saying I can't handle making the content 8 weeks in a row and some of the other F1 Wars stuff. Well I certainly wouldn’t put that in writing considering it would be considered libel. They held criminal court proceedings for years only to be deemed not guilty. No team would kill a driver on purpose bc they don’t like them. They’d simply drop their contract. They let the world champion go to bring on Ayrton. Theyll hit their 15, because they need the money, even at the risk of burn out.
They might do Southern Hemisphere, but tbh, I doubt it.
Logistically? Makes little sense to go to Brazil.
Better to do their European leg, the middle East, and Asia, then do Mexico, US and Canada.
They might do Brazil as the last race, just ducking down from Mexico, but I think they want streamlined travel, even geographically, just do races close together in a quick circle of northern hemisphere races, then a break for 2021.
They might have done a Brazil if they weren't on the clock so to speak, but they've gotta get 15 races in 5 months.
And with F3 and F2 on part of the calendar too, so will need to be conducive to them too.
I see Europe, to Asia, to North America and over, being the most efficient way, especially if they jump China.
I am PUMPED to see some racing again! And this insane year might be just what it takes to knock Hamilton off the top spot, who knows?

good point. VERY conservative if it didn't, but yes they'd be a genuine championship. You could say 1982 had weird circumstances too and people still don't fully respect Keke's title. This is significantly more dicey. It depends on who wins, I'd wager. If Leclerc wins, people will count it. Hamilton, probably not.

technically speaking, we don't know the ACTUAL number. I have seen the leaked agreements famous from racefax.com on the 1997 concorde's. so I know for sure the precedent was set it switched from about 75% total revenue shared dropping dramatically to 23% thanks to Bernie. Today, we know roughly the column payments there's plenty out there on that.
Racing in Brazil this year would just be suicidal for the image of f1, since Bolsonaro does close to nothing in regards to the pandemia in the country. Number of infected and number of casualties rises every day and it won't stop rising in Brazil.
I agree it is political. and likely detrimental. but F1 is now on the hook. I'm a cynic. I think they'll cave and race rather than pay out the state to breach contract
@@CYMotorsport I, personally, think that racing in current-state Brazil would cause much more financial damage than breaching the contract. Interlagos can host about 60000 guests + team staff and drivers, and exposing THAT much people to a deadly infection and, most probably, actually causing thousands of people to get ill will generate a lot of controversy and talking, which certainly will negatively affect the stock prices of F1.
I think Canada was cancelled and we won't see it this year.
You can still inquire about tickets and it’s “TBD” on the experiences page. It’s the weaker of the Americas round but still possible. If the us races I’m sure Canada will too

the first 2 races are not Mercedes's strongest I think Ferrari can get these ones and have a strong lead. from there lewis is pretty good on the next few tracks. Max idk if I can trust him to go unharmed and finish all races he looks like he wants to start with a war.
