💢Dear friends, the use of different colors of wool in the video is to make the repairing process clearer. Friends must use the same color of wool when repairing at home.🌹

The first repair stitch was pure genius! I never knew THAT was possible... thanks for sharing.
Absolutely amazing! ❤
I don’t have a clue how they even thought of such repairs 😮😊
Hay que tener paciencia de enano...

People who can knit and crochet, my wife included, possess a super power I simply cannot fathom. It is sorcery.
I was lost after the first stitch but enjoyed watching nonetheless. This takes a great deal of skill and patience! ❤
@@Repent-and-believe-in-Jesus1cult
Professional 👌👌👌
@@nasimkhordehei7809I wish I could do this... Many sweaters could have been saved 😭🫶
Try reducing the speed of the video
So satisfying to watch, it looks so easily but I wouldn’t have a clue where to start.
Right?! I would end up with a bunch of knots and create more rips!
@@genx-odus5678you can do it 😊 if you have patience and willingness to learn. It will take a few times to begin to understand where you’re going but give yourself time. 💜 this was beautifully filmed. I appreciate this video so much.
I suggest you get a book on easy crochet because that will help you understand what she's doing. Do a couple of simple crochet pieces. Don't need to really make anything, just get a feel of how the stitches link together.
We need to reclaim these lost arts
@@user-or5ev7vs1nYou need the same kind of hook. Shouldn't be difficult to find in a fabric store.
I think the 2nd and 3rd method are great because they prevent the problem getting worse. You need to catch and secure all the loose knitting loops or they will continue to unravel the stitches directly above and below the hole(s). With normal wear, that will continue to the top row and the bottom row.
Once you’ve repaired the hole, then use the first method to conceal the problem, and also add an extra layer of knitted thread at a location that might be subject to future wear (e.g. the elbows of a long sleeve jumper or cardigan.
Well worth practicing these stitches. Note that the 3rd method had the needle removed and rethreaded to the opposite end of the repair thread several times - off camera - why not just use two needles - one for each end - and then a second or two showing you using the alternate needles?
I hope this helps the viewers who had trouble following along.
Thanks for the info. Do you know the name of the strange needle ?
@@noeliapereira1155I believe it's the "tapestry needle". Large eye and blunt end. Can be used for weaving in ends on knitted projects. Smaller sizes are also used for cross-stitching.
@@noeliapereira1155you want a darning needle with a latch-hook eye. Stores like Joann would be a good place to look. Or go online. Clover is a good brand that Michaels sells, too.
There WAS a tapestry needle but also something like a crochet hook with a hinge. I looked it up and it's a darning needle with a latch hook eye, or just a latch hook!
@@user-sc7xs6ei5u- It looks exactly like a miniature carpet weaving hook. I used one of the latter to make rugs many decades ago.
Well demonstrated techniques. The darling that I learnt as a kid was handy for repairing worn out socks but not useful on jumpers eaten by moths. I hadn’t thought of using a latch hook. It’s makes such a neat job. Number 3 looks like it will take a while to master but this moths really had a feast last summer so I’ve plenty of holes to practice on! Thank you
Often it's the carpet beetles that do this damage too. (not the adult beetles themselves but their yucky larvae). This is why I don't buy cashmere or wool anymore (plus the fact that it's been hard to find non-scratchy wool sweaters). It'll be full of holes after I take it out of storage.
@@frostflower5555- Cedar wood balls, rings and small blocks seem to keep the naughty munchers away.
I'm in awe! I wish I could hire you to repair some sweaters that got holes in them. I did a really bad job sewing a makeshift repair with my very bad sewing skills. This video is so relaxing and educational.
Take a try. You may get somewhere, and watch Again and try again. You will be amazed at what you can do with a little try😉
Same here I had this cashmere sweater one of my favorites it had a hole I tried stitching it and ruined it completely 😢
Absolutely 😂😂😂
Holy masterclass Batman give this person more yarn to work with. Masterful combo of knit and crochet this video will save 60 yrs of. My 95 yr old Moms work ❤️💜❤️💜❤️😄
Incredible talent and darning. I've never seen any repair work, done as easily and beautifully as this. Its mesmerising to watch. Thank you and happy new year. 🎉🍸🥰😍🎁
All of these techniques are beautifully executed and filmed for us to comprehend. THANK YOU!!! Thanks for sharing and helping others 😘💜😘
If every kid learned these skills in grade school, we'd have a nation filled with engineers, mechanics, and problem solvers.
And yet historically mostly women knitted, and were not any of those things lol
@@kirstyc2176Ada Lovelace would like to know your location
@@kirstyc2176historically women knitted and sewed, cooked, gardened, built furniture, repaired items, did pottery, painted, drew, etc. But they could not work. So how would it have been possible?
@@zvezdoblyat even today women are more likely to do those things then men, and less likely to become engineers, mechanics etc. that's my point. one type of skill hasn't led to the other.
@@kirstyc2176 sure, but notice how the comment says "kids"? These are basic skills that everyone should know, not just women, and not just men. And not just adults either
This is the type of skill that leaves black holes in our space-time fabric feeling jealous!
That first technique is awesome, there is no way any average person would be able to replicate that easily though 😅
Most knitters with a a few years of experience can though. Most people know someone who knits. Call a friend 😊
Yeah she goes so fast without demonstrating how to do the stich or even describing what she is doing.
@@lizzfrmhon change the playback speed to a lower setting. It really helps.
@@Dana.1 OR, she could just go slower making it a true beginners guide
It's really simple, the hardest part is the sewing, not the crochet. Just slow down the video and follow the steps. Of you don't feel confident, watch a crochet tutorial and try it out with a string on yarn
This is something that should be taught in school to increase recycling, sustainability and raise awareness for the environment.
🌸 my nana & mom showed me this trick
This is something more mothers should show their children
That's exactly why it's not taught. People would buy less clothes and big business makes less money. They used to teach this type of stuff in Yugoslavia before we westernized
@@sunitafisher4758 not every mother knows how to knit or sew. Or not every child have the possibility of learning from their parents...cuz of that I personally would prefer if schools teach it to students.
Mostly because i used to be in a school where these type of stuff got teached (Home economic or however it's called in english;;; english ain't my first language).
Unfortunately, when i ended up in the grade where we should've been able to pick an extra lesson, Home economic class was removed from the list and we only could pick language classes, compared to our precursors :/
This used to be thought to Girls in schools here but kapitalism and a new generation of dults replaced the knowledge post ww2 gave us.
It is where I'm from... but I skipped and did woodworking twice instead. 😂

As a former knitter, I appreciate the attention to detail and construction in the repair...
Impressive! I love repairing clothes, darning is so satisfying.
I love that little tool with the clasp.
How wonderfully simple and effective.
Basic, easy to follow techniques. I love this.
Such a master of her art!!! 🤯🤯🤯

Boa noite.
It’s truly amazing, specially last one, for me was so hurd to understand how to restore items with different patterns. You have shown it clearly and slowly. Thanks a lot.
I’m saving this. It shows so much about the knit stitch it will be invaluable.
This will help save my sleeping socks and sweaters. Thank you. Practice makes perfect. Hunting down those tools will be the most challenging part.

If you could make one of these vids for ppl who have no idea how to sew/crochet/knit, that’d be dope. We are out here struggling 😅 these tips are great for those in the know though!! Any ideas for us beginner beginners? I’m sure our repairs would be much more , uh, rough, haha! But I’ll take any tips I can get! Ty!!
commenting so i get notified
I had no trouble following along with the contrasting color yarn. I can’t imagine myself succeeding with matching yarn for an invisible repair!
Knitted sweater repair...great ideas!❤
Gracias x compartirlo. 🙏♥️
This is brilliant see I get it instead of using the blue you would use the color matches but in order for you to see how to do it they put a different color so that way it's easier for you to notice how to work it. Thank you for this video I often wondered how to do stuff like that.
Concerto mais que perfeito, amei!
Thank you SOOOOO MUCH. I have always done this just haphazardly. What I do works but is nowhere as neat and efficient as what you fo here.
I love this video. Thank you so much for sharing this with us. I will probably have to watch it several times 😅
Muchísimas gracias por compartir estas técnicas ancestrales.
