You’re the first person I’ve ever seen fix a hole in knitting properly with sewing. There’s a 2nd method picking up stitches and knitting over the hole.
I truly appreciate your taking the time to show a genuine repair vs a goofy patchwork over the hole. Thank you 🙏🏻
Veramente brava anzi bravissima esatta .grazieee!
Truly impressive. That was artistry. I mend quite well but this is a re-creation and you make it look easy.
By the way knitters, if you give someone a gift give the extra yarn. I am still wearing sweaters my mother made decades ago.
THAT takes a very skillful hand. I am an avid knitter & crochet junkie.
However, I would NEVER try to mend anything myself. I'd rather send it out than ruin it.
You know the old saying
"Anything looks easy when you know what you're doing". And this person DEFINITELY has some skill!
I was taught the straight up & down stitch using a single loop. I much prefer your method & results. I have 2 cashmere sweaters with a very fine knit to fix. Wish me luck!
I have one, too--that's how I ended up here. How'd it go? I'm feeling hopeful. This is a great demo.

How did they turn out?!
I believe the up and down method where you weave in right to left is for woven fabrics. Yes, many people use that method for socks, but this is the method for knits... if you don't want it to show. Many people use the weaving method in visual mends to celebrate the patches. 💖🌞🌵😷
Thank you so much ,I've never seen a darn as neat or as skilful as this .
That's amazing! Great close-up view. Background music was calming. Excellent video.
An ingenious, clever and very effective repair. Thanks so much for teaching us this.
I don't knit or anything like that, but this is fascinating. Almost suspenseful watching to see your next move. It must be relaxing, but challenging work
"Invisible" darning, love it🙂
You are a genius! I learned a lot in these 4 minutes.
Thank you! Very clear instructions. Can't wait to try!
Can't thank you enough for this timely video and my fav sweater is fixed!!
Jhhut bolnewaleki, heryek ki nar koi honi chahiye.
@Melissa Kay
Did you really fix your sweater? 🎉Bravo to you. That takes skill and more important nerves steady hand.
Good for you! 👏
Wow, what skill. my question is where did the extra matching yarn from. was this a sweater someone crocheted that got a hole, so you could have the matching yarn?
I'm a contractor and sports nut but my wife taught sewing and fashion design in high school so this is up her alley. I found it mesmerizing. That was was fascinating.
You should learn to sew! It’s just building things with different materials and different power tools. 😄 It’s highly rewarding. You could start with making yourself a pouch for your tool belt or an apron for the workshop. A tool caddy for a five gallon bucket could be handy, too, and you could design it just the way you want for your common tools. You could make some workwear or do creative repairs on your favorite work pants. And if you like to tinker, you can get a good vintage machine to clean, service, and get running smoothly.
@@PolishedandAssembled Thanks, my wife just retired she taught sewing and fashion design at high school. She has several very nice embroidery machines I have done a few things on. Unfortunately I had a stoke and my fingers and brain don't work that well together. I takes me a while to even type. But she does all kind of amazing things so I'll leave it up to her. LOL
@@jvillebil13 Oh, I’m sorry to hear that you had a stroke. Is it a matter of time and physical therapy, or will you have finger-brain connection issues from now on? I’m glad you are able to enjoy your wife’s sewing and design work.
I sat here "wowed" as well.
I am so very impressed! Amazing talent.
I admire your extraordinary skill. My grandmother did this, and she was absolutely 💯 phenomenal. I miss my whole family.
Beautiful work!
My daughter will love this hack. She sews and crochets.
Bel lavoro! L'importante è trovare il filo dello stesso colore!👏👏💖💐
Absolutely amazing work.
that was very impressive to watch and very relaxing to watch as well. for me the perfect ASMR was just done by you the artist.
This is brilliant sewing. Well done 😊
👌👌 Best idea.💕 Thank you.
it is so soothing to watch these skillful hands
More soothing to follow the clever brain that knows where to put the needle next...
Wonderful tutorial! Thank you!
Knowing where to stick in the needle next is the clever thing!
Sometimes it seemed too far away but wasn't. There must be a 'pattern' to follow.
AMAZING!! THANKYOU FOR THIS VIDEO! many people now just throw garments away. I used to watch my grandmother do this but never asked to be shown. I will definately give this a try with a jumper i knitted for my son but with a bigger hole in the back. Im so pleased i found this and other videos how to do it cause many people younger dont know how to mend holes these days.
Very smart way to fix the kneeting!!!!
Qué maravilla!!
How is it possible any one person has obtaned this level of power? Not sure what was more impresive, the fact that it was fixed, or the patience to do these things lol.
Merci beaucoup ! C'est vraiment parfait !
This is brilliant! I love the black scaffolding to get the hole in shape, which I imagine can be pulled out when you're done. I tried the latch hook re-knitting method from You Tube, very tricky to get the tension right. Somebody here mentioned picking up stitches and knitting over the hole. I do that for big areas of sock soles. It's a bit bulky.
Muchas gracias, simplemente perfecto 👌
Cleanest “hole/ tear” in existence
So clever thnk you blessings
Thank you for making the thread a contrasting color! That was really helpful! ❤
I don't sew and don't plan to learn...but that was awesome.
Thanks for posting this. I have tried to do this and just needed a demo such as yours.
Very clever I’m so impressed thank you for your time
Wow. Brilliant. Thank you.
Saved this for my daughter.
Супер
Perfekt!
Thanks for showing us how to do this! I have a couple of tights that need mending at the thigh, and I plan to use a beautiful purple ('cause I think visible mending is fun)
My mind is blown. I never even knew this was possible
Silly question, but what about the ends of thread….. how do the edge stitches not unravel, or have these already been stabilised?
Probably it is wowen into the sweater (wrong side) as if you would end a knit work
Nice job! Looks great! Thanks for sharing!!
Thank you for sharing your skills with us.
Geniale! Complimenti!
No matter how much i watch this I still end up with a big messy knot that looks more noticeable than the hole 😅
Que belo trabalho!
Perfeito 👏
I have a cashmere sweater with many moth holes.I taught myself how to fix holes in sweaters with regular thread from my days working in a vintage clothing shop where we had to do quick repairs. My method is probably incorrect but it comes out pretty well.I might applique wool patches over some of the larger holes.Or embroider decorative stitches.
Magnifique . Très bien explique . Merci.
MARAVILLOSO TRABAJO..¡¡!👏👏👏
That is NEAT work!! Didn't even have to pull out the dark thread!
Very clever. A great skill.
personally, i prefer videos with no distracting music, but WITH some sort of explanation what is being done.
That jump cut at :34. Reminiscent of the old Bob Vila going to commercial and when they come back, the whole house is up on blocks somwhow.
Absolutely brilliant!!
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING.
Bravissimo o bravissima
Eres jenial me encanta todos teus blogs 😘👍🇧🇷🇪🇦🫂

You really are very clever
Mamma mia che bravura e precisione! Lavoro eccellente
That's really satisfying to watch
You're hired !
A tear in a sweater like this never looks as good as the tear you began with... that is an ideal tear...
This is so satisfying
How clever is this person. 👌
BRAVO many thanks
Pretty awesome and super helpful since I am an avid knitter. Thank you so much for sharing!
Very good idea.
Thank you, you save my knitwork
Nice if have perfect matching yarn
