Casey, I had a weird dream about this build. You mounted everything in the car, but the engine wasn't running yet. You were test driving it on the street because you hooked up a temporary electrical propulsion unit to power the car. You were excited and the Honda was very low 😂😂
I tell people that I am following a guy putting a 383 into a CRX, and the response is always the same, HE’S DOING WHAT?!?! IN A CRX?! Just loving this build!!
Dude was doing same thing with my bandsaw and homemade cutting plate, welding on some legs and got my vice back
this has been the most riveting youtube episode Ive seen in a while..
As a welder I don't recommend the Circle method for your welds , your asking for Slag Inclusions, and porosity . If you are going to keeping doing that I'd run more gas and go hot and heavy with the wire . You'll have to go faster but atleast you won't have weak points deeper in the metal
Put the rivet in her divot. Didn't watch the seat build yet but, door skins and head liner that look like the seats would look killer.
You might think custom modifications are just a bunch of holes held together with nuts and bolts but I find them to be much more riveting ...

Pretty rad. Nice to see if coming together. Moving that engine forward looks much better and probably make it easier to work on. No removing the windshield to tune the carb. Go figure
Casey when you move the front roll cage bars under the hood and angle them, you should run them through the fire wall and tie them into the down bars by the doors. It would make it much more safer in the event of a front end collision being that it was all tied into the roll cage. And if possible run a bar across under the dash to tie the door down bars together across the car and make it even more stiff and rigid in case of a collision.

The heater isn't that bad. We can still hear you over it. Besides eff working in a cold ass shop!
For the driveshaft I'm not sure if all the shops are the same but I normally just measure it from the transmission seal to the diff yoke and I would take the slip yoke and thats how they would make it

yeah, those front clip pipes, if you're in an impact so intense that they're driven into the passenger compartment .. most likely the engine will be in there with ya too.

He already talked about those tubes and the fact that they are not going to stay there. They were only there to keep the chassis square and rigid since he cut away so much of the original car.

For some unknown reason a crx with a nasty V8 just makes sense. Loving the content. Ive just bought myself the south african version of the G8 you chopping up for the body swap, super excited to see how the motor and transmission preform in the new / old body!

Please, please, please, change the bars in the engine bay. Cross a bar alone the firewall, then weld them going outward. They are not safe at all, the way they are.
You think he’s not going to change that? If you have watched the whole series and paid attention you would have heard him address it. They were originally there for support since he cut out so much of the original chassis, they’re temporary, not permanent. He’s been hot rodding for a long time, if I’m not mistaken his dad was/is a hot rodder too. I bet my left nut he has 100x the experience you do.
