I get it. I call these types of horror Saturday afternoon watches. I don't need to be traumatized with everything I watch.
I’m with you - I still enjoy these movies even when everyone else hates them. People act like you are not allowed to like both rated R and PG-13 horror. It’s ok for them both to exist together and for someone to like both! I’m seeing it tomorrow and looking forward to it!
Feels weird to me that people say that blood and guts dont make horror stuff scary but at the same time the reason why people complain about PG-13 is because it cant use blood and guts.

Exactly. I took my 14 year old cousins and budding horror fans to see Tarot. Late night showing, almost no one else in the theater and we had a blast. The kids hammed it up during the tense moments for the funzies of it and it was a great popcorn time. The creature designs were honestly why I agreed to take them and they were cool.

I loved it. It was generic but that doesn’t mean it wasn’t entertaining. It was scary, I was scared, it didn’t need gore shown to be scary. The design for the tarot villains was really cool. I was surprised to see how badly rated it was to be honest. It was inventive in its own right!
Great honest review, not jumping on the bandwagon of hate. Some people seemingly hate on things because it’s popular to do so.
Some just genuinely didn’t like it, but I agree, some people do just jump on the bandwagon

I watched it last night and was expecting a bad movie but I also had a good time. Was pleasantly surprised, it was well done. It did look like it was made by people who cared unlike Imaginary.
I dont know why, I enjoyed too. I really had fun in chasing scenes

I just want to know when did people start becoming such horror snobs, as if they don’t like the Halloween, Friday the 13th or nightmare on elm street franchises (which I consider the big 3) and they all have some truly horrible, non memorable, movies that should have never been made. But guess what we still watch them and we know what we are getting. It’s not like tarot was going to be Oscar worthy or anything 😂😂

You know I am really so sick of having to see people say "It's PG-13 that means it's bad!" A horror movie isn't bad because of it's rating, and saying a horror movie is going to be bad because it's PG-13 is not a valid argument or point.

Thanks for the review! And thanks for the mention of CGI. You obviously noticed it, so it is noticeable. Another review said the movie was too dependent on it. That usually takes me out of a movie. Sounds fun otherwise. Maybe a drunk watch on streaming. Lol
That IS unbelievable. I find this kind of unbelievable malarky frequently though in people mispronouncing commonly known words like "tarot" and "macabre" (etc, etc) It's a little frightening 😳
It is surprising for sure but a lot of people aren’t exposed to them. I lived the last 20 years in Sedona, so I’m very familiar with them. Not because I believe in them, but because everyone around me does.
Reminds me of Witch Story 1989 with the tarot use.

Yeah with the horror genre in particular I'm always pretty lenient on films.
I really appreciate this review. I also like these gimmicky type of movies like Countdown etc. It’s just some good ol’ popcorn fun. My favorite of these types of movies is Polaroid. I know it’s pretty bad and it’s dark (as in the absence of light) but I love to put it on when I want to relax. I will be going to see this in the theater so thanks for the recommendation!
Thankyou for being honest and open. I love these types of horror movies too because they may be mediocre but as long as they're fun then who the hell cares?! That's what it's all about anyways!

Totally agree with you. I went to see this with my 16 year old and we both found it to be a fun and entertaining horror movie.
It’s cool. Kind of like 13 Ghosts which is also a dark inversion of the zodiac. But I felt like 13 Ghosts depiction of the zodiac was a little more accurate.

This reminded me of: Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark + Thir13en Ghosts.. But if it wasn't for the high budget and decent acting, it could've very easily been more on par with: Don't Look Away + She Came From The Woods (2022 film) + Hunt Her, Kill Her. Blumhouse is a good comparison, though. They tend to ride that line pretty well. Right in-between low-budget cheese and mainstream horror.
You have such a cool, chill voice and demeanor. Agree with your insight on this as well! This movie was surprisingly good despite the bad reviews. An easy watch .

I haven't had time to say - I love your new opening! It is cool - I always love things with colors and spooky music. hehe As for mostly panned movies and PG-13, I don't mind them. Like you, if they are enjoyable to me, I don't care (that coming from someone who also loves HARDCORE gore, but is just as happy with no gore if psychological or thriller or just whatever). I liked (enough) Countdown, Bye Bye Man, Wish Upon, etc. Truth or Dare angered me so I cannot agree on that one because of the stupid fake smile faces. LOL I was going to give this a try, even if everyone hated it - because I like to watch horror. I can hate it later if it is that bad...kind of like food - you never know if you're going to like it or not, so why not try it. You can say you did and move on.
I mean, I don’t like the truth or dare smiles either, but I did enjoy the rest of the movie

I actually thought for these kinds of movies it was done pretty well! I usually go to see these movies for a point and laugh popcorn fest but it was done a lot better than most of them.
The movie was actually brutally good! If this movie was so terrible, I must not be keeping up with recent horror flicks.

Big respect for an honest review (which I know you'll always do). Hate train reviews suck and I usually unsub from such BS. Anyone calling this a worst movie or bottom of the barrel either A) doesn't watch much at all or B) have an agenda to get clicks or whatever they're up to. This is a perfectly fine mid-level horror (like Bye Bye Man, as you mentioned). This from a 50 yr old horror fanatic that usually will even enjoy those cruddy Tubi movies you're talking about! haha!

I hate the ending because it had no commitment to it.
I went to see this film today in the UK and I didn't keep my expectations up because most of the new horror films of today is a little "meh"" lately. I do tarot readings for a living (yes, actually) and I was excited to see this, but also worried that it would be cringey. In my opinion the film started off slow and I thought I would spend the next hour and a half bored to death but once the creatures was introduced, the film got more interesting and I'm not regretting spending my money to see this in the cinema. If you like modern horror, then I think you will enjoy it enough to not feel you've wasted your time and your money.

It’s like a howl o scream commercial. I liked the last bit. The actors were kinda simple? Lol the monsters are like 13 Ghosts kinda. Good one for teenagers. I would have liked as a kid I’m sure.

Cool Leprechaun Tee, the opening was hilarious about how to say the word tarot correctly, no matter what the english language is fucked, there's words that have silent letters in them which is stupid as shit. I'll probably check this one out.
Best film of the year and I don't give a damn about all these amateur critics. Great effects and brilliant CGI. Great channel and don't be a FOMO because I watch movies for fun and nothing serious.

I went to a night show last night, without reading any reviews. I was expecting to hate it, but I lowered my expectations and had a good time with it. Also, maybe it's an awesome drunk watch?🤷 There were a lot of people in my auditorium, and most had bought beer at the concessions, so they seemed to have an even better time with it. Though the movie was loaded with horror troupes, I just went with it, and it was pretty decent. No real complaints, except for maybe the cliched ending and CGI-heavy monsters.

I like this one pretty much, I thought Lar Park Lincoln was very good AND this is the first of the Kane Hodder Jason's and the best!! The slimy looking nasty Jason with his back bones all exposed was awesome (best look ever for Jason) and Kane just imbibed Jason with such fury, such insane anger... when the mask pops off and you see his actual face! Kane showed Friday fans just how scary Jason could be

People get mad that it was PG-13 even though M3GAN was an amazing movie (for most people who reacted to it) and it was PG-13 (also I know there’s an R-rated one
I don’t know what the hell, people were hating on as I’ve seen this trailer a few times, and I thought it looked like fun, to me as a horror fan PG-13 and R-Rated horror can both be enjoyable for different reasons and in fact, to me a lot of these supernatural ghosty type stories don’t really need a whole lot of R Rated gore or nudity or anything like that to really work.
A lot of people tend to still praise the hell out of The Ring from 2002 with Naomi Watts which I enjoy as well and they talk about how creepy and terrifying that movie was, well guess what people, that’s PG-13 and you said it’s still scary so, yeah to me the rating doesn’t immediately define how scary/creepy a horror movie will be
Oh yeah, people love the ring. I think they forget it’s PG-13. There’s a ton of great PG-13 horror movies.
I thought it was a decent watch.
I finally watched it and it was a very fun movie and i actually really liked it. It has good kills the monsters was pretty awesome. This was better than blumhouse PG-13.

This movie would have been better with an R rating cuz it wants to go hard it just doesn't otherwise I really enjoyed it I was convinced it was gonna be dog shit too. I liked the lore behind the astrologer and that whole bit. The magician part would have been way better R rated I really am surprised.

@@sinistercinemareviews5420 the hangman sequence could have been better with a body dropping and a severed head right along with it I liked the very ending explaining how Ned got out of the elevator, it almost killed the tone but it found the balance for me.
My pet peeve is the mispronouncing of tarot 😂 . As long as I’m entertained I’m good. I watch really effing bad b movies and as long as the story is decent I enjoy it or heck if I laugh at how BAD it is I’m happy. people hate on movies too quick demanding something new for every movie or worse demanding to be scared. I’ve accepted a long time ago nothing is gonna scare me 🤷♀️
I want you to know that I like people when they are JN with their honesty got all kinds of movies. Horror films, fine with me and as for your concern, I never even seen this movie yet. I’m sure that people knows how to read tarot cards and read your zodiac going on With the tarot and the zodiac is not evil or anything like that and I’m talking about from my understanding of it and zodiac and numerology. There is some understanding that some of it could be demonic like that but not all of it. It is what you put into it , put positive positive positive out of it you put in negative and you get something negative out of it is not put in what you put in. This is just about what they perceive what tarot cards is not called that ironic and bullshit. This movie is a lie but it’s true. I have not seen it yet, but I will , at least you do respect the idea of the concept of what is a decent movie and what is not because I don’t have to have the go in the blood in the guts to make it a decent horror film than this one is a fact, a horror with some comedy to it so nobody should take horror films that serious or literal. I would just prefer watching them before sake of fun and entertainment and that is where the fun is it makes it more fun that way, but yeah but I do. Your honesty about movies like this it happens to be a horror comedy like the burbs ghost fever to whatever it doesn’t have to be a serious horror/film Gus Gore and bookcase scream murder. It doesn’t have to be that I’m sure that you would appreciate that too because I know I do it would straightforward then yes I would not mind to go and see it at least I know we seen it maybe this Thursday or something like that but yeah how can it be that bad when people is just making a big deal out of this film do about something that’s all they do and I don’t see that here at all
Horror is very cheesey and samey today almost it's own genre. It's very difficult to find that horror that comes with a warning sign. Immaculate is one of my favourites as of late. I think the one thing a horror needs to do is shock the viewer. Jump scares are very rare to come upon today .

I just watched it. The people calling this the worst movie of all time are exaggerating the hell outta it 💀 it's a mid cliche teen horror with some creepy scenes and jumpscares. The ladder kill was the best one in the movie and the scene felt like an R rated movie i forgot this was pg-13. If you go into this and just turn your brain off not expecting much i can see it being OK. But it's not even close to the worst movie of all time when we've seen a million movies like this. the bye bye man is 10X worse than this movie

These reviews always depend on how you go into it. If this was getting the hype that Talk to Me got, you’d be much more critical. But you admittedly went in thinking it was going to suck so the review is much more positive. Its kind of like you give it a pity review due to the hate it’s getting instead of just reviewing it completely unbiased.
No way. My opinion would be very similar. Hype and expectations play a factor in every film to a degree depending on the person, but I try my best to make sure I’m as unbiased as possible and over 3300 videos later I think I’ve provided solid evidence that I’m doing just that
