I think it's safe to say I got the full VW experience and what an experience it was. I'll be uploading a video on Wednsday with John the owner of this camper, talking all things about this beautiful VW Westfalia! 🤙🏼
That food looked awesome. 😋
The new Volkswagen’s are the same pal
I can’t wait for the Wednesday upload 🫠🫠
Reminds me of my first car, a 1969 VW bug. A trip was always an adventure. 😊
Just on again, off to watch, its on my bucket list to have a VW camper van.
Im english and i approve this content for overseas markets..... i hope that people thinking of going to the uk watch this first because its the most realistic representation of britishness ive ever seen.
This guy is so down to earth and funny its making me homesick
These videos just get better & better … never a dull moment with you will… love it! 😂 ❤
Glad you like it! 🤙
This series just keeps getting better and better Will. This was like a comedy from the 1970’s 😂😂love it. 🤭
Haha glad you enjoyed it Ann
Since this series started. You seem so.much happier now. Weather it's having Ben with you now or the change up, you seem a lot happier. Loving the new series. The VW bus is one of my favorite vans. Seeing you without power steering was hysterical. Personally love no power steering, feel more connected to the vehicle.
I’m certainly much happier and it’s because of an accumulation of things without doubt!
The leak in the morning is probably from the sink/waterpomp, it's at the exact same spot. And absolutely love these videos Will! Great idea to explore different vanbuilds every week and maybe get inspired to include in your own van in the future.
I think you’re right, it just have been the sink
This brings back so many memories of my childhood and high-school, my Mom has one of these. It was always an adventure! She still has it too, just haven't ridden in it in years and years. In high-school it was her only vehicle. Now she has a couple others to choose from.
OMG Will, I've been pissing my pants with laughter from the first sec till last! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 You really did get the FULL Westfalia Experience I might say! I felt exactly the same way, when I first drove off with my rental Daisy 🌼 If I would ever be able to get one of these for myself, I need an build-in mechanic to join me on my trips 😂😂😂
😂😂 if you find a build in mechanic let me know
@@WillsWhereabouts after watching this again it sounds like you're saying here @14:38 'Would I buy myself a Westfailure?'.....😄....man, you brought it on yourself! ☮😆
New batt, adjust the idle, new fuel filter + fuel system flush, she'll be a peach.
Love this new style of video Will! After watching all of your old videos through Nepal, stealth camping in the Ford Galaxy, to the Fiat Ducato build - I can't believe the production value and presenting skills now. This reminds of me of the old Top Gear and it seems like you're happy doing this. Keep up the good work and looking forward to seeing more!
Really appreciate that mate, I’m far happier creating these videos and it has so much variety which I’m loving 😊
Probably one of the two most valuable vehicles you have tried so far! Apart from the 'engine' issues I really thought this camper really 'delivered' on its promise.I would buy one in a heart beat. Fabulous.
Dropping the clutch when starting older vehicles is actually a good thing to do, it gives the starter one less thing to turn.
Good to know!
It wears out the clutch faster
Badly maintained these vans were driven all over the world for years no problems that engine is normally very reliable still good video
Agreed
You forget how much the modern vehicles do for you when you drive an old one don’t you,
Brilliant as ever - have a great week, all the best, David 👍
What a stunning vehicle! Cracking video, every breakdown makes you stronger 😂
Cant beat a classic vw 🔥🔥
Iconic!
You can. Preferably with a big stick… 😂
Oh hell yeah. A true classic that. Loved it.
Will, I gotta say Ben is great support in the show. Love how he's just laughing behind the camera. Good to see another video where something goes wrong but the cooking section is perfect. The be camper looks awesome. I love the style, shape, wheels the shape of the roof, down to the front headlights.
It’s such a beautiful van
Really appreciate the hardwork you did on the camera or off the camera dude keep going keep growing
Will, this has been the best one yet. All them issues really highlighted how well you deal with problems and took them in your stride, brilliant video
Hah cheers Josh, I’m not one to stress when things go wrong
Hilarious, I laughed out loud when you fell out 🤣🤣🤣
Fantastic series Will, really enjoying it. You look like your having so much fun.
Thanks Ian, I really am
OMG as a fellow Westy owner I love love love this!
Way fun video. I can recall driving by a VW dealer when I was a kid and seeing one of these for sale week after week. It was a dream of mine to own one someday, but now I am glad the dream never became reality. 😅 Thanks, will, for some great content!
Well that cheered me right up! Thank you! What a glorious cantankerous old VDub.
Will can I suggest a video idea. Interviewing all the owners of the campers/vehicles you've camped in. The main question is "What's the story behind this camper / vehicle setup"
It could be a compilation video with clips from different interviews.
Classic Will in a classic VW !! Great video.
Glad you like it! 🤙
Really been enjoying these different types of videos! Keep it up will!
More to come 🎉
im loving youre vids. the the new way you have it now dose make for a new feel and uniq viewing.
'something i've learnt again is to do what u love and youll find a new easy path to the tasks of the day and be more happy with youre day and evenings, 'especially if its a a job and u find that change is calling, its defo a calling not to be scared of it.

So enjoyable Will.. you’ve come so far some since the galaxy days.. loved the content and humour and passion you have.. keep it up fella
Cheers mate, appreciate it
OMG, this video is absolutely bonkers and hilarious. I laughed from start to finish. You get better every week Will. Can't wait for your next adventure.
Thanks Kim 😊
A cracking wee van. I always wanted one of those when i was younger. I have to say though, looking at the issues you had (hilarious though they were) i might pass on getting one now.
Great work though, Will. This 'series' seems to be suiting you down to the ground. Keep it going, mate!!
😂😂😂
Loving ya videos Will, from the classic days of ya ford galaxy to now, this new series not only entertaining but really informative as well. Keep it up mate 😎👍
Thanks so much Dave, glad you’re still watching from the galaxy days
Fantastic Will 🎉🎉
VW always needed to be owned by mechanics. LOL! And push starting vehicles was ‘normal’ in the day. It was quite a memory watching you deal with their peculiarities. Great video.
Agreed! I sold mine after 3 years. I wish I was mechanically inclined! 😭
Hah glad I could bring back some fondish memories
For me will this video was like watching tv , the editing and skill and the hole proration was top notch and you deserve big numbers from this video . Hats off to you ❤
Thanks very much 😊
I like the nostalgic look and feel of the VW. But old vehicles are always a ball ache. I prefer your new reliable van tbh. Great vid very entertaining as always. Thanks Will. Your content is very high level, your a natural at this.
T2s are pretty unreliable, but the majority of older vans are FAR more reliable than modern vans, what shit themselves quite regularly, and cost loads to repair.
Always have loved your videos, but they definitely are getting better and better. 😊
That was a fun video.
I've had a similar experience with my 71 T2, looks like one of the idle channels on the carb was blocked so it went out when it is warm and the auto choke wears off. It starts normally if you leave the Ignition off for about 5 minutes, since the choke will reengage.
Also in general, if you're trying to start it with an already warm engine, you'll have to start it with full gas, and NOT pumping it. Otherwise you'll drown the engine, which seems to have happened most of the time.
To clean the idle channels you have two nozzles on the right side of the carb, which can be cleaned fairly easily by piercing through with a small needle/wire and blowing them out by hand. A temporary fix is to turn the topmost screw on the gas lever in the back out as much as it goes, which will add some gas all the time without you having to hold it down.
Loving the content mate! You've really found a niche theme for your channel that has massively evolved from when you built your own campervan!
Hope to have a camper of my own one day soon. So you're an inspiration bro 👍🏻
You went full Norman Wisdom on this one pal! Absolutely pissed myself when you fell out the van, even more so when instead of helping the presenter to his feet and asking if he’s ok the cameraman just pissed himself laughing too! Comedy gold 😂 Entertainment factor off the scale on this one… Loved it! 👍🏻👌🏻
Hah cheers Jason
couldn't wait for this weeks video and boy oh boy it didn't disappoint !!! - beautiful little van and hilarious content - what more could u want !!
Haha thanks very much 😊
Love ur videos Will, your content is always on point that I actually think I’m there with you 😂 natural presenter, you keep it so real! X
Haha thanks Janice
Great video had my 74 westy for 7 years only 1 breakdown.People think new vehicles don’t fail but as someone who works with them everyday they do on a regular basis and are far more costly to repair. Also had a T3 Westy for 9 years which never let us down apart from 1 puncture
Just brilliant will xx
I had a 1972 Westie for over 20 years and we managed to put 160,000 kilometres on it, mostly with two adults and two kids. Great vehicle and mostly reliable.
The one in your video is in lovely general condition, I imagine that some restoration has been done. I expect that the engine trouble is a minor problem, probably something dirty or needing adjustment.
It's not a 1972 model though, it's a later model.
Reg comes back as a 1973 MOT expired in 2019 it says 🤔
As always, I absolutely loved the video Will. More power to you mate!
Thanks for the support! 🤙
Older vehicles like this should be fully inspected at a qualified workshop before traveling more than 10 kilometers. But this is a fun experience and a little scary too 😅
• i'm watching from Melaka, Malaysia 🇲🇾🌺
Looking forward to this one! 🎉
Thanks!
Look forwards to our next van and adventure to love your videos your a lovely soul happy one 😂😂😂😂

Brilliant!
Loved this Will & when you fell out of the van I did laugh out loud, sorry. Can't wait to see what comes next 😊
Haha thanks Kathy, glad you enjoyed
Love your videos, you are great and you always make me laugh.
Absolutely brilliant Will! This is the best vid yet! For me the best line in the whole episode when you said ... "Get out the road please ... I can't stop ... won't stop!!!" ... that's your "catchphrase" right there mate ... just pukka wukka awesome sauce!!!
Haha glad you enjoyed it maye
This is so much fun watching you will 😂😂😂😂
Who needs to watch comedy on the TV when we can be entertained by you Will, pure genius.
Love his videos! Always a laugh!
For an old Van condition is good van paint job is great!

Great video Will keep them coming.❤
Thanks 😊
You are so brave! Great video, i look forward to the next one
More to come 🎉
Hi Will, just found your channel with these different vehicles etc. Really enjoying watching them. When i was a child we had a VW campervan, not like this one tho. Cooker was under the front passenger seat, toilet, 2 hammock beds in the pop up bit, double bed at the back, big table in the middle, even a storage cupboard. Brought back memories as i lost my dad in 2021. So thank you. Just researched the model - 1972 T2 campervan dormobile.
Heyy Anna, thanks so much and glad you’re enjoying them 😊
Best video yet Will, love this series
🎉🎉
Never a dull moment! Loads of this is Hilarious
🎉🎉
Camping with style & stress. 😜
Mate, this new video series is way better than the old same old, same old stealth camping
Tell me about it, I’m enjoying it so much
I’m really enjoying this series.
I recon that driving that van was challenging for you however classic vehicles will make you appreciate the modern convenience of the vans with the new technology. I’ve never had a vehicle that hadn’t powered steering.
I recon I’d be bricking it with the need to maintain those revs and go round the windy country roads😅
Thanks for sharing Will.. great video as always. Mucho Love From Your Friend In Michigan Tam 💜💜
Cheers Tammy
Absolutely brilliant. 👍
👊🏻👊🏻
Brilliant video Will, as they all have been so far. Loved our old VeeDubs and at least you've had the full experience 😂. Had Type 2's and T25's through to a T4 a T5 and now a Crafter LWB. Without doubt our favourite is the T25 Westfalia California, it took us across the UK and Europe many times, a brilliant van with a layout you'll find in the modern vans. If you can find one give it a go. Can't wait to see what you drive next 😁👍🏻👍🏻
Ohh I think you might be surprised what’s next haha
Steering Wheel looks like a Bus Steering Wheel! 😆
This was fun. Loved it.
😊😊
Absolutely perfect! Actually did laugh out loud. When you fell out of Caravan! 😅😅😅
Hahaah!
I actually just found your channel and I'm loving the new content!!! I've laughed more in the past hour than i have all week. I just subscribed, looking forward to more camping adventures in wierd/ wacky camper set ups!!! USA here 🇺🇸
Thanks so much :)
Had a few of them, at least when they go wrong the engine's are so simple to work on, had so many great many happy memories in them , now I'm an old man I like more comfort, great video will
Awesome Video
Will, you're gonna have arms like the Hulk when you're finishing driving that van, lol 😆 😂
I had a ‘76 bay window and absolutely loved it. Best thing about old veedubs is when the stop working, which they will, you only need 3 spanner’s and a screwdriver to fix ‘em. If they were better on fuel I’d have one tomorrow. Will, those mozzies looked like they were queuing up to have a feast on you while you slept. Cheers for the content mate. 👍🏻
Hahaha! Thanks!
Oh Will you do make me giggle . fantastic vlog . so jealous .you cant beat the VW t1 westfalia keep them adventures coming .🤙🤙🤙🚌
Thanks for the support! 🤙
Awesome!!!
Welcome to the old days my friend, I remember these old bangers very well, never again 😊
Have fun 😂
Keep up the good work Will you legend 👍

Thanks Christine 😊
keep up the good work mate, be nice too see you in the furture do this over seas.
100% that’s the plan
Absolutely love this Will x
Great video! I have a 1972 VW bay that try's to find different ways to break every time I use it.
😂this brought back some memories of when I own a 1972 VW, lovely to look at, but for something so simple, they like to breakdown a lot
You persevered very well.
OMG, sure it's been said before. But getting total Little Miss Sunshine vibes. Especially when you had to get out in push. lmao.
You falling was the best laugh ❤
It was that super unleaded petrol.😂 great video laughed so much
Love these old campers. Wish i could own one. 😊
It was a beauty
Love it!!
Thanks
Well that's my Sunday entertainment sorted 😂 very funny Will, great video again this week ❤
Haha cheers Florence 🎉
Love it mate . 👌
Cheers matey
As 20 year olds we drove across America in one in 1975.Young hippies back then.
Realy nice van so cosy to
Enjoying this series so much. Once more Im laughing my head off at your antics. The cameraman laughing just makes it funnier.
Hah glad you enjoyed it 😊
