For stealth camping you should use a blackout curtain or partition to separate the front cab from the living area. When you use your window covers that’s a beacon letting everyone know that someone is camping in the van. Leaving the front cab open just makes it look like the van is parked and the driver is out……I’m just sayin’
Black coloured blinds would at least be more stealthy.

Exactly, was about to say the same, it's a 100% dead give away, that someone is living/sleeping in the van. And you don't use the front area anyways, and leaving that open, it just looks like a normal van that has been parked and left.
What does it matter though? A van with an exhaust and solar at the top. Yeah, sure no one is living in there for sure. With blinds all over the windows, for sure no one is in there. Seriously?

Hello from Taiwan🇹🇼 I’m a mom of a little boy, I work five days a week. I go to work after taking my kid to school , then pick up my kid after work. I mean,it’s really boring sometimes/most of the time. Your videos really lighten up my days and take me to places I probably won’t go in any time soon, or try things I won’t try anytime soon. Your freedom to travel in van ,your braveness to stay in random places and your little funny moments are really awesome. England just doesn't like people parking overnight. Where as Scotland doesn't seem to have much of a problem with that. But you managed to find a place for the night. Good job. Thanks for sharing this stealth camping adventure. Have a great day.

those car park fines are uninforcable in Scotland, they can send you letters, you just ignore, they can't do anything.

Not sure if it's been mentioned previously, but ever thought of spray painting your front blinds black? Would match you side windows and make it more stealthy? 😌 Otherwise great channel! 😃✌🏻
I think that every time I see them. I think they’re paper but black spray paint would work fine.
The barriers are to prevent people leaving their cars at McDonald's and sodding off to the airport thus avoiding parking charges at the airport terminal or car parks cracking video as usual my good sir 👍
You’d be towed within the day, they’re more there to stop people using the car park as a drop off point. Whenever I drop anybody at the airport I either stop on the road by the hotel or drop them in the BP garage at the North Terminal (be sure to buy a mars bar from the shop and ask for a receipt) I’ve also dropped people off outside the Police station at the South Terminal lol - never been fined yet.
@@testpilotian3188 incorrect. nobody is allowed to tow or clamp your car without permission from the council, police or DVLA. And permission is only for specific occasions. Also the only parking fines that you must legally pay are those from the local council. A "fine" from McDonald's can be ignored with no consequence
@@giraffe3718 not with no consequence, they can take you to court for the fine, plus admin charges, and get the court to issue a CCJ.

I am a 'Brit' who has lived in Northern Europe for the last 20 years. We returned to the UK last summer for a family visit and were entirely shocked at the parking restrictions and complex rules about 'which cars' are allowed to park 'where'. My children's God Father took us all to the movies in a town in Kent, but the parking process, the 'process' for ordering our 'Nando's dinner' and the 'process' for buying our cinema tickets was exhausting. The movie seemed like the least important activity. Has the UK become a place where there is a 'tax' on existing?? Try taking 'Mary' on a trip to Northern Europe. (a) You will find it very easy, and (b) the people are lovely - you know that when they sell beer in the petrol stations and not very many buy it!

If you really wanted stealth you should have picked a cargo van with no window on the side or back. I put in two ceiling skylights works perfect. Still have room on the roof for solar panels too. And also a blackout drape behind the front seats. It slides on a track if you need to use the front seats for extra seating in a pinch.
As a teenager from North Carolina in the mid-80s, I spent a summer in school in the Horley/Haywards Heath/Surrey/Sussex area. It's a bit shocking to see it looking so much like automobile-centric America these days! I have done plenty of stealth camping here in the last 20 years with my Casita fiberglass travel trailer, and I share your pain of finding a quiet spot that doesn't obviously break any rules.

This is a great idea! You should totally go two different hotels and different places where food can be tried out and try to eat that food for breakfast lunch and dinner and make a video series out of it. Obviously, you don't want to end up like some of the other CZcamsrs who get unhealthy on this, but this is maybe something that could be done once in awhile.
OK....its 7am...sunday morning.........where I have my morning coffee and toast and check my emails and youtube videos for the latest news. I see this guy doing stealth camping so I figure I would check in and see whats happening. Little did I know that not even 5 min into the video I would be laughing my butt off about a guy going to McDonalds for the next 24 hours. I'm going to finish watching now......I guess while laughing and trying to finish my coffee!!!! Not sure why.....but you are hilarious my dear. I love the brits but now I love you even more. I am not a world traveler, but I have never seen a McDonald's with gates and so many security cameras. Here in the the States many are open 24 hours. We should have gates and multiple security cameras with the some of the McDonald's in bad areas. Liked the video. Keep em coming.

The good thing about locking the gates to the carpark is that it will be more secure

Absolutely love the stealth camps but you need some way of making the outside of those blinds black. From a passing glimpse you’d probably still not notice but atm they stand out like a sore thumb🤣

Window condensation is an issue with stealth camping....I use a silver padded screen cover, but that would highlight your presence....mmm??

last time I had anything with high fructose corn syrup, I wound up in hospital, couldn't breathe, or I had so much snot running down the back of my throat, it felt like I couldn't breathe! 😶

I work across the street from a McDonalds, Starbucks, Subway, and a Dairy Queen, and have never once went to any of them for food or drink... My takeaway preference is to live, because I'm rather fond of it, and don't want to take a chance having high fructose corn syrup again! 😄

My local Sainsbury's, not a fan of McD's but that drive thru' is always jammed. Judging by the game that was on, I was in London that day & I think I popped in to Sainsbury's for a few bits and pieces on the way home that night, so probably passed right in front of Mary - small World.
