- My car camping road trip continues! In this video, I explore the Barkerville Gold Rush area in my Rav4 car camper. I encounter a little porcupine, (my 1st!), and learn more about the history of the area and the people who lived there. I end the day making a quick and easy dinner in the car camper! Don't forget to subscribe, like and leave me a comment!

My 2nd channel - LITTLE CABIN IN THE YUKON
When I'm not traveling in an RV or at home working on an RV, I'm usually at our remote, off grid log cabin in the Yukon. My husband and I have had this cabin for over 20 years and love it. If you'd like a look into that part of my life, I have a channel showing how we live there, lots of beautiful scenery and wildlife. So much of what I learned living off grid at the cabin has come in handy living in an off grid RV! The link is here-

😊
Thanks Wiley! It was such an interesting day, and I learned so much.
What a beautiful area, and so full of history. Loved the chickens and that sweet little porcupine!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Loved this video Sue, cemeteries were awesome, and the history was definitely interesting. Dinner looked good, too.
Cemeteries are fascinating places. Love looking through them.
I agree. We were in one the other day that was from an old coal mining ghost town. So many babies graves. We realized it was from a flu epidemic. Sad, but interesting.
I loved exploring this area! So much history❤
❤❤
I enjoyed spending the day with you. I'm glad that poor little porcupine got off the road.
Hi!! How’re you guys doing?!
Yes, that lil guy had me worried. He was so cute❤️Glad you could join me and thanks for watching!!😊
The joinery on the empty cabin logs is impressive! 👍
Isn’t it just! Having built a couple you realize what a skill it is to get it to fit right. Thanks for watching, Greg!❤️
That porcupine was so cute! He didn't look to scared of you after a little bit... lol. The cemetery was very interesting and a cool place to explore and so was that little murder site...lol. I had fun watching you explore today. Hope you enjoyed the yogurt, strawberries and blueberries. 😊😊
I really wanted to take that little porcupine home! He was so cute! I’m glad you enjoyed exploring with me! There are so many interesting places in this area. And yes, the yogurt and berries hit the spot!
Take care, Angela❤️
Well you already know I love this. I really like exploring and taking pics of places like this. The history can be really interesting, but I think I'm just more amazed at what it would have been like to live during those times. And in many cases, I find it truly amazing that the buildings have survived this long. Maybe that have that one up on stilts to help preserve it? Might deteriorate faster from the ground wetness etc. Oh murderspot. $60 was a lot of money back in the day. And the gold pin was probably worth a ton. You really covered a lot of cool historic stuff. Not a bad meal. Freeze dried is good way to go. I gotta say, I'm a little disappointed you didn't take the porcupine home and make him a pet, otherwise this was a great video 😉😆
My husband and I are convinced we were born in the wrong century. This stuff fascinates me too, Felix! I think one if the reasons I enjoy Barkerville and the area in the off season is because it’s easier to envision the past when it’s not full of tourists.
The freeze dried food is just so much easier to travel with. No need to keep it cold so it just goes into my dry box👍
Honestly, I would have taken that porcupine home if I had brought leather gloves and a kennel! We’ve had dogs who have given them a poke and ended up with a muzzle full of quills that were the dickens to remove! I’d never seen one before though, as the ones the dogs met never came hime with them😂Trev has had them try to live under our cabin but they are always gone by the time I get up there.😞 Hope you and Jessie are doing well!-Sue
Another great video❣️ I absolutely love the history stories. I also like visiting cemeteries and old houses. I wonder what stories those houses could tell. I try to imagine what people’s lives were like that lived there. I think that little porcupine thought you were his mom😂. Safe travels and keep those videos coming. Your friend from the other side of the continent❤️
Hi Brenda! You and I are kindred spirits! I do the same! I always figured if I could have a ‘special power’ it would be the ability to see a place back in time. That’s one of the reasons I prefer to explore these places in the off season. It’s easier to see it as it was. Wasn’t that little porcupine the cutest!?! I would happily be his mom if it wasn’t for those quills!
Take care and thanks so much for watching and leaving a comment❤️It is very much appteciated😁
Great work! Thanks for sharing . All the best to you Liked
Thank you! Have a wonderful day!
