Watson's first shot and lee's last ball was extraordinary.
Binga is great on and off the field..
Roux 🐂him
@HEAD HUNTER's LoL it was Watson
@HEAD HUNTER's bro u pls check the match again
@HEAD HUNTER's check the shot at 0:02
That last yorker by Lee 150 kmph swinging in 🤩
Johnson was a handy batter
Excellent fielder and thrower.
Beast bowler always
Ah man this reminds of a bad memory of Johnson's barrage of sixes that he slogged in the SF vs India in the 2015 WC. Made all the difference
@@sohamsarode7975 yes. You are right.
He first made handy runs to reach Australia score from 290 to 327 and then took important wickets of virat and rohit in same over(perhaps he got rohit in his next over after getting virat)
He hit Kohli with a throw.
@@MrDrgdf dont know which match are u talking about but he got him with a bouncer in wc sf 2015
@@ravinderpannu5717 he was talking about a test match in 2014 series
Watto and hardy Tim paine opening the innings! And Mitch Johnson doing a Maxi premaxi
what a throwback haha
That last ball from Lee was 🔥🔥🔥
3:35 look at the condition of the ball ...it will definately reverse...batting was difficult back then😏 that is why players of that era were more skillful.
So nowadays not like that?
Couldn't have agreed more, Faizy
@thalapathy Two new balls are used now, one from each end.
No. You can blame all the stupid leagues such as IPL and PSL for all the garbage players they pick up based on how they perform in a T20 six hitting contest
@@jinujohn4286 yes 100% true
Luke Wright and Lance Klusner are 2 of the most underrated allrounders of all time
Klusner not underrated 1999 wc player of the tournament
Klusner is nowhere underrated. He was one of the finest allrounders back in the day
Luke wright never had a proper international career
While Lance Klusener carried his team during the late 90s till 2003
Klusener was part of the Golden Proteas 11
Luke Wright had some decent gas! His bowling dropped over the years. A very handy underrated cricketer.
Bro ECB destroyed hes career
Could've been a perfect all rounder Who opens the batting and bowls like a perfect fast bowler. Luke Wright.
He had stiff competition also. Bopara, Bresnan, Broad (who could bat back then lol), and then later on Stokes, Ali, Willey, and so so many other allrounders England suddenly found. Good thing is he managed to find a niche as a T20 specialist.
@@shahmianas8512 ...
Wright could have been used as a pich hitter who can bowl a bit. His form dipped back in 2012 and since then the luke wright of 2007-2011
I am surprised to see that Luke Wright bowling about 135+ km/h . I thought he was a mideam pecer with 120-125 speed like Bopara, Collingwood etc. Today I am really very surprised. He was also a very good batsman. He could be a great all-rounder like Watson on that day. But that didn't happen 😭
My favourite batsman in Pune warriors team in IPL
Wright bowling that fast is probably evidence of poor coaching. He always over compensated line and length for extra pace, which didn't make him dangerous. He wasn't fast enough to get batsman on the back foot and lacked the control to be trusted for long spells
Great work guys. I remember the series, back in the day any team that Australia fielded could win a series. This was a nightmarish series for England as they were staring down a 0-7 whitewash after a stunning Ashes series win a few weeks back. Graeme Swann saved the whitewash with a fifer in the 7th ODI. Wish we see more ODI cricket played, especially 5 match series.
best we can do now is 3 odi...how about franchise cricket twice a year?
Always a treat going back to this period of Australian cricket. This transitional period of what could have been- Paine was so bright (fingers destroyed unfortunately), Ferguson was classy (ruined his knees constantly), Lee was still lethal (though his body would continue to break down), amongst others. The elements were there for Australia to remain competitive until the eventual revival in 2012/2013, but ultimately it was a tough five years or so, especially in test cricket.
It's kind of rare to see Callum Ferguson performing great in Aussie colours. Good handy knock in the middle there.
എന്താ. ഇതാണ്. Batting
It was rather rare to see him featuring in Australia XI.
He was part of odi series vs India in 2013 but was not given a single game in a series of 7 matches.
He was finally rewarded for his shefield shield performances in 2016 and made his debut against South Africa in 2016 but was dropped after that solitary game.
He has been a consistent performer in BBL too but unfortunately his international career just never took over
He was in top form at the time of this series. He scored 4-5 50s in 5-6 games. Then he got injured and could never make the comeback.
The last ball by Bret lee is an absolute jaffa
Targets near 250 in ODIs are mostly tough to chase during those days.
yeah for 2000s
This match happened in 2009 it would have been tough for 80s
Not that difficult.
England was short of few players, KP,bell,Flintoff(he retired from tests before this odi series, but struggled to maintain his fitness and hence retired the following year)
I can still remember the days where 130-140 was considered a good score in T20. Now you need minimum 160 to be competitive
Salute to tim paine for keeping 150 kmph balls at young age.
He was 25 mate,( at that time)
Pretty decent age for any kind of wicket keeper, not that young
@@sandeshreddy5347 didn't knew that, thanks for the info brother ❤️
@@sandeshreddy5347 he was actually 2 years old
Cameron white is one of the most underrated cricketer in cricket history.
He wins so many matches for the team but he doesn't get the deserved appreciation.
That Cover Drive from Watson ❤️❤️❤️
woww
if Tim Paine played like this now whee
People speaking of Johnson, but look at Brett Lee clicking above 150 continuously 😸😸
Brett Lee is the fastest bowler ever if you take the average speed. Most 160+ deliveries by any bowler 🔥
That too in last stages of his career
@@arkadeepmukherjee685 jeff thomson was quicker and shaun tait and shoaib akthar had same speed of lee
@@anirudhsuresh4481 well there is no substantial proof of Thompson being quicker and I'm not including Tait here because of his short career. Shoaib sure bowled the fastest on record but 150+ deliveries were more by Lee.
@@arkadeepmukherjee685 jeff thomson bowled 160.58kph in 1976 160.45kph,159.49kph in 1975 and tomson's bowling speed was only calculated for few overs

Pace and swing a left hand pacer. His outswing vs left arm batsmen is incredible
I like the angry Collingwood in the end after hes clean bold 😂 better luck next time chill bro😅
Look at that bowling line up Lee,Johnson,Watto, Australia biggest bowling line up in the world ..Love from🇮🇳
Luke Wright Could've been a perfect all rounder Who can open the batting and bowls like a perfect fast bowler.
A lot of English players during that time had short career due to lack of proper coaching and form
200 years of Eng getting trounced by everyone. Sweet.
Good to see a BOWLER take responsibility as a BATSMAN✌️✌️✌️
Paine opening 🔥🔥

I like odi and test cricket.
Weaken English side, they completely missed the genuine pacer, now they have!
When Anderson was nearly as quick as Johnson!
Australia won this series 6-1
England batting lineap very hood that time
Paine is hard there!!!
FROM LAHORE PAKISTAN
The last wicket with reverse swing having 150+ kph shows that it's compulsory to have 150~ pace to do reverse swing.

australia ek aisee team hai jo kisi ko bhi kahin bhi jaakar haraa sakti hai tabhi toh 5 baar ke world cup champions hai.
Still England manage to win the series with 2:1
thanks for the good news
Wow, So England knew how to play cricket back then too. Hmm. Not a trash team afterall
I think you must have mistaken for the Ashes. Australia win this series 6-1.
@@cdn4767 yeah. Same happened in ashes 2010-11
Brett Lee's last ball yaker

Now Tim Paine has taken an indefinite break from cricket. I hope he comes back sooner and stronger
