  • The Tata Tiago EV is the most affordable electric car on sale in India at the moment. And it's a car that fits the needs of urban buyers brilliantly feels Sergius Barretto.

Perfect city car for office goers. A good choice as a 2nd car too.
Small dimensions, ample space for 4, adequate range for multiple office trips, great build quality, Low NVH and ridiculously low cost of running and maintenance. Icing on the cake is the perfect pricing, at 9L this seems far better value to money proportion when compared to a petrol hatchback.
This will be a smash hit in the urban and suburban areas. The only downside is range as it cannot be used for outstation trips.

Finally a perfect city car. No tailpipe emissions, sufficient range and just enough grunt from the motor. The only thing I wish they did was give the figures of the Tigor EV for the motor(it has similar range for the almost similar battery pack size). Then we would have had enough power in tap and not depend on Sports mode a lot. I can see quite a few owners of this car using it frequently which results in battery depletion due to adequate power.
Else the perfect car for city roundabouts. No spare is a bit of a bummer but considering its main purpose it may be okay and they have given a puncture repair kit.

Still pricing is quite a lot around 2L diff on road from Tiago iCNG varients and it is more readily usable in city and highways

Finally! Someone removed the spare tyre
The spare is mostly useless in modern cars as that tire itself loses pressure when it is lying in the boot.
So on the day when you actually will plan to use the spare tyre - you cannot use it without a tyre inflator
And if you already have a tyre inflator, you can just use it on the punctured tyre and that can easily run enough till the nearest puncture guy

I was in the market looking for a small diesel automatic, im not a big fan of amt, and just like he mentioned thats where the pricing made sense, if you compare it with a petrol tiago it may be twice as expensive but when you start looking for an automatic city car, it checks all the boxes and makes for a practical choice.
