    If someone wants to know the true range of EVs, I would recommend you to have 5 adult passengers in the car and test it. Weight is also a key factor for range test. I haven't seen anyone or any EV manufacturers giving range capacity with full weight.

    Tigor EV XMA is Rs 4.31 lakhs costlier than Tigor XMA petrol AMT. So, EV car price is equal to Petrol AMT car + 4200 litres of petrol. (~63,000km).

    Hi, I have few quick question or clarification to @Autocar team
    I would like to appreciate TATA Motors making revolutionary in EV's and consideration of cost factors compartively with other rivalry very reasonable. All the best 👍🏼
    1. How about battery life, duration cycle and performance after 3 or 5 or 8 years later, it will be a same it's a billon dollar question?
    2. How to recycle this Li-ion battery is any plan have mfg or govt policy
    3. Charging station establishment and service-maintenance cost factors

    • @KaustubhGaonkar
      @KaustubhGaonkar Před 2 lety +1

      1. EV battery is considered drivable as long as 80% of the charge holding capacity remains in the battery pack. Also Tata Motors offers 8 yr or 1.60 Lakh KM battery warranty that it won't deteriorate beyond 80% value.
      2. Post the said depreciation in charge holding capacity, the individual battery pack can be recycled in inverters, battery backups, etc. No govt policy yet
      3. Since low moving parts less maintenance as no engine oil , air filter etc.

    • @evthink
      @evthink Před 2 lety

      If you are still asking questions after 8 years battery warranty, then you better wait to buy EVs. First experience them with help of friends and years later decide for yourself.

    • @jayakrishnan7431
      @jayakrishnan7431 Před 2 lety

      U won't need to worry till 8 years or 1.60.000 km on battery pack. After that what will happen? It's a valuable qn and the answer is we don't wnat to replac the battery fully as it is a bunch of cells. By BMS( Battery Management System) conpany can identify the specific cell which want to get replaced and it won't needs a heavy payment.Also TATA CHEMICALS is working behind Li Ion battery cells as it's a home company and coming years it will produce the cells locally so the price will even gets lower.

    EV will be a success once charging options are there throughout the country and that too fast charging, even in remote places. Otherwise EVs will basically be a city commute car for those who can afford a 2nd or 3rd vehicle at home. For long distance you have to rely on petrol and diesel. Most of the Indian household wont be able to afford two cars (EVs for city use and Petrol/diesel for highway or longer trips). Charging points will be "THE" key to this game.

    Tigor is better because - Swift Dzire petrol and EV boot capacity is 378 litres but in this EV they have removed the spare wheel. If you keep the spare wheel the boot space goes down to below 319 litres which is lesser than Tigor EV. Tata Tigor petrol boot capacity is 419 litres whereas Tigor EV boot capacity with the spare wheel is 319 litres and without that is 378 litres. The Tigor EV ground clearance (172mm) is better than this Swift Dzire 163mm. Also both Tigor petrol and EV is safer than the Dzire. Also Maruti doesn’t offer any assistance for Dzire EV. You will have to come back to this dealer only whereas you get the Tata 24*7 Anytime Anywhere assistance

    Why the time for charging shows percentage limited to 80%? If the claimed range is on 100% charge then, how much time it takes to charge batteries 100%?

      Remaining 20% they never talk about because tata Nexon ev takesn 35 mins to charge the final 20%
      Would hurt the brand image if they did mention it
