i think i'm going to watch this video everyday, i need to constantly be reminded of this message... my dip is being experienced now with college and taking on a major that i had no desire or even thought to do due to family pressure. i'm starting to evaluate what i need versus what others may think and just push through "with brute force" to where i want to be... thank you for this video man, its exactly what i needed and i hope i don't quit on my dreams.

After stumbling upon your self actualization video while I was cleaning one day, I started to watch your videos on an almost religious basis for two months straight. I noticed a drastic change in the way I was thinking and just in my life as a whole. Recently, I took an unintentional two week break from learning to meditate and my personal development by trying to live my life and do things I had been putting off ect.
Last night I had a total bitch fit because I was getting things done however... I had ZERO routine in doing these things (i.e. Yes I was getting stuff done but not as productively as I know I can and was beginning to struggle with the dip because it's fucking scary to see my life change so much) .
I believe it takes two components to explain something to someone. First is obvious... The right information. But secondly is the right person! And I'm lucky enough to say that while I was cleaning my tornado of a house, I found the right person and it is you! Thank you!

What I would compare me putting off my personal development to is....
when someone who has a chemical imbalance begins to take medication, they see their life improve! Then they say "I don't need my medication, my life is great!".
And within a few weeks, things start to fall apart and their life turns to shit.
Thanks for helping me be able to call myself on my own bull shit lol! 😊

then you got christianity all wrong. the bible doesnt teach you to rely on god to do everything to you. it teaches you to DO YOUR BEST and all within your OWN POWER and GOD will take care of the things that are out of your control to help you SUCCEED! you should be active and do your best and leave the rest on Christ and he will take care of it.

With my course at high school, there's always set deadlines for pieces of work throughout the year and people in my class most of the time leave it to the last minute. You have given me the idea to start it as soon as I get it. At the start of the academic year, I was highly motivated but as time went on people in the class got lazy and that's where I realize the dip is happening and before I use to leave to the last minute but now thanks to my awareness I can really ace it and complete the ones early to allow me to work on other areas of life. That's a dip I have experienced. Thank you!

I love this video. This is my problem my whole life. I'm only 25 but I've been doing this since I was a kid. Always dreamt I could change the world and be anything I wanted. But I quit band because it got too hard, dance, and drama club, didn't take hard classes in high school or sats, quit college 6 months in, attempted a work from home business...etc...now that I have a family and child of my own this is my defining moment. I have so many ideas and I've been building my vision of who I want to be especially in the last few years as a stay at home mom. I've been getting into self help to feel happier and found spirituality. Now I'm about to embark on another work from home business that I'm sure will work this time because I'm not going to quit!! Thank you for this.

Thank you Leo, I agree with Andy Camm below - you work miracles in a few sessions. THE DIP has just happened to me today, and while I could tell myself to keep going, you've still put it into a better light.
Here's the situation for all of you out there: There was an auction for a place, that i sooo blew out of inexperience. I've been hoping to get this workshop for months, and set to it. Blew some obstacles here and there to get to the auction itself, and still - that critical 1 sec moment happened that no mental preparation could've taken me through. It's been such a cheap mistake that it feels gut-wrenchingly devastating. Time to welcome the intermission, and create ways to divert progression elsewhere. GL everyone!

Being an aspiring author & illustrator, I really appreciate what you've said here. With each project I reach a point where I just cant see how to proceed, I'm discouraged & think an answer will never come. But it does, because I want it badly. (I step back & wait for a while if I have to, or just keep plugging away until something works out.) It's very encouraging to think about the fact that I will eventually get ahead, precisely because I am willing to endure the discouraging times and go to the extremes needed to succeed at what I'm trying to do. Thank you.

hey Leo. what got me through my gauntlet or world issues are extreme self control(partial thanks to your valuable concepts), borrowed hope when I ran out of my own(which I have it back now), and just knowing no limitations to independent thinking. I feel I can be very successful and have somewhat of a promising existence. much respect for you and your endeavors. stay up my friend.

This is exactly what I needed to hear. I'm in a defining moment in my career (military) and have encountered some difficulties. I'm not happy with what I'm doing and I'm starting to take college classes to find a true passion I could pursue instead. But I do have a question for you; how do you differentiate between disliking a job based on that job's tasks and responsibilities, and disliking a job based on the types of people you have to deal with? My question may sound straight forward, but most of the issues I experience are from more or less idiots and self-entitled people that I am forced to work with. Looking forward to your reply.

Hey Leo, While I was watching this video I reminded of some ex-classmates of mine that used to say that as soon as we get a job and we become aware of the money one can earn at a given moment then any dream one previously could´ve had would vanish away in the forgotten due to the comfortableness money might provide us with, besides in that case we´re forgetting what we really meant to be and do for leaning onto the decision of picking apparently the easier way; then I conclude with a question: Should we not give up on what we presume we´d love to do and continue because life is smiling at us, or should we better decide on expect for better chances and finally do what we dreamt about when we were children? I expect your answer my dear coach

Learning Ads (AdWords) and doing the physical therapy are my dips, the other two aren’t but will need to be coordinated around each other to fit my schedule (moving abroad and finding job I have no problem getting done lol).

How do you understand whether a halt in one's career is due to what you say or simply due to the fact that one is fed up with that career?
    I would like your opinion....

Ah, good. Just the video I needed. ^^
Hrm... Obstacles are never a problem. They're usually easy to get past, at worst I need to figure a way around them. But how do you stick to something when you find something else that is even more interesting? And then something else, and something else, and something else...?
Are you humans really that stuck on homeostasis? Seriously? oO
Oh, that way of thinking is brilliant. oO
Thinking it as whether I am better than others by doing the work... that might ACTUALLY work! *Grins*
On a more... earthly vision... How do you build ambition? I can't really think of a single thing in the physical world that I want all that much. All my goals are spiritual, or to gain knowledge and the likes... How do you figure out what may be worth something in the material world? (I don't even see the point of bothering with getting a job, tho I occasionally work when I have a passing obsession with working as this or that, but I always end up quitting cuz it gets boring, gets in the way of my real passions, and gets in the way of my studies. Or simply because I don't like routines. *Laughs*)

You ignore the importance of talent. That is a major factor, probably more important than working hard. There are lots of songwriters for example who didn't work very hard and still became successful. If you don't have musical pitch you can't become a world class musician and if you are not athletic you can't become a world class athlete no matter how hard you work. Same for all other fields.

People that work at McDonald’s may not have a lot of education, but their work is not only very hard; it is essential. They should get better payment as should every other ‘low skilled’ work. It’s fairness!

OK. And what about so called for lack of a better term "moral obstacles." You know what I mean? When doing what it takes to achieve a goal just feels "ugly" in terms of empathy, like "stabbing somebody in the back," figuratively or maybe litteraly. I've been thinking about it what chance does somebody have if one has any reservations against somebody who will litteraly stop at nothing to succeed no matter who or how deeply someone may suffer for it.

There's no need to stab people in the back and I don't recommend that at all.

Actualized.org His suggestion might be good in those videos that are about 1-hour long, cause the average time people keep focused is about 17 minutes and then they start wandering. You could use bulletpoints with some terms on the side instead of graphics. It draws people´s attention when some new element appears on the screen.

What if u are forced to go to the army for 9 months and u want to become a cg artist, how can u not stop growing since in the army are no computers allowed

    • @ActualizedOrg
      @ActualizedOrg  Před 8 lety +30

You'll grow plenty in the army as it is. With that new discipline you'll have an advantage over other lazy artists when you return. You could also buy some art books and art video courses to watch. You can also have a sketch book. Great CG artists are good traditional artists. Learn how to sketch anatomy, arcitecture, etc.

Why Leo is so much against people who works at MacDonald?? There are many people like Jack Ma, Emma Watson have worked at MacDonald or cafe but very very successful now...
