    Long term laziness has been with me for awhile. With school, work, and just day-to-day activities. I mean i know what needs to be done; i just don't do it, or do it half ass. For example. I lost my job recently due to car problems. Now i use my car problems as an excuse to not look for any other employment. This is i big problem for me because i need bills to pay and to feed myself. Mind you I'm 19 and just recently got my own apartment. This video has helped me though. Thankyou

    This video was much needed, thanks so much for taking the time to produce this. My young mother of 41 passed away in March and it motivated me to quit my suckish 9-5 corporate job and pursue a career as a performer however, I've found myself go from working all the time to recently since I made the change I've been lazy as hell. Your absolutely right, sometimes you have to just say fuck it, take the first step, and get it done. The crazy thing is I have all things that I have to do I think about all day and say oh crap I have to do this blah blah blah (in my head its like a child throwing a tantrum). But EVERY SINGLE TIME I start on them and get in the middle of the action, I enjoy myself, get inspired, and at the end I realize how incredibly fucking destructive those thoughts are compared to the actual outcome. Thanks bro, your being a beneficial presence on the planet!

    This is the first time I watched one of you're videos and I can't believe I haven't watched any before. This has been really helpful to me. I recently dropped out of college and I've been living that negatively motivated life for so long. I realize now that there was no failure point for me and perhaps that's why I afforded being lazy. My father has his own business which I can casually get by working for/with him.
    It was getting harder and harder to get by day by day, pulling all-nighters almost everyday, spending my time just hardcore video gaming. I had no purpose on life I was getting by just meeting standards and not anything more.
    Of course I didn't know what I was doing, I didn't have much of an idea of what was going on. I'm starting more and more to get a better understanding of what I want and of what I was.

    • @Radmils
      @Radmils Před 9 lety

      Aiman Hafeez I'm not a psychologist, but it sounds like you are dealing with an anxiety issue. It is normal for people to be anxious over some things, don't feel that it is pathetic. But if you feel that it is impacting on your quality of life or that you are overly anxious it is possible to seek help from a professional or even just talk to a friend or relative. Don't apply so much pressure on yourself if you are playing that sport for fun. There are many people in this world which feel as you do, and at the end of the day the pressure which you feel is being self applied. Do things which take you out of that comfort zone and stop caring so much about how others will judge you. In the end you will find there are plenty of people out there which will support you no matter what. Go out there and practice some 1v1's with a mate, do some public speaking, anything which takes you out of that comfort zone and then own it friend. If you fall down get back up and keep on trying. Just relax, and clear your mind of the pressure you are putting it under, have a look at some of Leo's videos on meditation, it might help.

      Actualized.org Question, and this is not meant to be snarky in any way...isn't there a point at which you should be content with life so you can just be happy? I've heard this said in many different ways by a lot of people. Is it okay to always be wanting to strive forward and towards the next best thing, turning into a workaholic? What happens when you can't be content with life unless you are constantly moving forward? There are other things to consider other than just school and financial success...family, friends, your interests, hobbies, and desires. I think there's a fine line between success and moving forward and finding the time to sit back a little bit to just enjoy the journey and fun of life. What do you think?

    • @ActualizedOrg
      @ActualizedOrg  Před 9 lety +8

      MotoBoy Well... if what you're looking for is happiness, that can never be attained through achievement. Happiness only comes from being present and accepting of the moment. If you want that, you need to give up your sense of self and pursue enlightenment. But you're not ready to do that, are you? Are you ready to give up all your beliefs about life? Probably not. So instead we play this game of achievement. It's an ego game.

    • @DearMajesty
      @DearMajesty Před 9 lety +3

      Actualized.org Haha interesting...so I guess you see success and happiness as two different things. I guess they really are different things, BUT how can you be happy and accept/live the moment when you are constantly trying to change/succeed and always busying yourself. They seem somewhat mutually exclusive...I feel like you need to have somewhat of an ego to believe that you CAN change the present and the future and that you owe it to yourself, which can lead to depressing thoughts as you've mentioned in your depression video. I hope that made some sense.
      Anyways, I eventually want to watch all your videos. Right now my biggest problem is school...I don't do study at all ever and will literally avoid it at all costs...and then end up cramming literally hours before my exam's which results in poor grades, sometime's failing grades. I'm an engineer btw, so where as I might have been able to get by in some other majors, it's no bueno here :/

    • @ActualizedOrg
      @ActualizedOrg  Před 9 lety +7

      Ruben Figueiras Tony Robbins is great, but he's the wrong guy to ask. He's a chronic over-achiever, hamster in the wheel, and he's not about to give it all up.
      That is why so few people are enlightened. It actually is the coolest thing I know. But the cost of seeing this coolest thing is the destruction of your entire worldview. Imagine a human body but the "you" inside it is dead. That's enlightenment. Definitely cool, but it will scare the shit out of you.

      Think and hope for the best, Yep it sounds ridiculous but having a positive mind makes a huge impact in life. When you're thinking negative thoughts your telling yourself that everything is much harder than it should/could be. Learn to except what life has to offer whether it be shitty or good.
      Everyday wake up with a positive mind,
      Try to think of something that makes you most happy when you get outta bed.
      The more positive minded, the easier it is to become motivated. I guess :P

    You know sometimes when I watch these videos I start to notice it is a never ending cycle of improvement. Now improving yourself is good but does it come at the price of self acceptance? Why can we just accept ourselves for who we are instead of chasing things all of the time. It seems like the tunnel is long with improvement and yes I don't mind success but I think I am starting to see a conflict here. We should be happy with who we are regardless of our circumstances. I know I used a should word but I am not redacting. If an animal can be happy without any effort so can humans. So I ask why the never ending struggle for improvement?

      Self help in general tends to make people feel they're lacking something. It's as if they make people feel like This creates the bad feeling.
      A good approach is to spend 80% of your life working and living fully. 20% can be feeding your mind self help books, videos, etc.
      If 80% of your time is studying self help, this is a recipe for thinking something is wrong with you thus you will feel bad.
      The above is for sure one perspective.

    • @Garium87
      @Garium87 Před 9 lety +2

      RawHim9591 Well, its not. It's just the beginning of your adulthood. And your live does not end with 40. It would be to late for many things, like starting a family, if you have not done *anything* until 40, but it is a good time to raise your children and to enjoy your family.

    • @Garium87
      @Garium87 Před 9 lety +2

      RawHim9591 So what you actually mean is not "half of your life", but half of the time you have to make yourself a decent life. Otherwise the rest of it will most likely suck too.
      I can agree on that partially but I want to repeat, that its just the beginning of your adulthood.
      Before that, its pretty much a question of luck in which family-background you have been raised. From that point on its on you. That doesnt mean you start necessary from a good position, life is not fair, we all know that, but pretty much everyone can achieve a happy and fulfilling life if he puts effort in it, instead of being lazy. Especially if his time of adulthood has just started.
      But even if you are older, what you missed you missed. You cannot change that. All you can do is to make sure that the rest of your life will be better.

    Leo forgive me for commenting before having watched all of your other videos where you may have touched on this, and I know you do have a video on supplements and vitamins and something about increasing your energy levels..., but I didn't hear you specifically mention anything about the importance of testosterone in men for motivating a man to be less lazy. I have personal anecdotal evidence that, at least for me, when my testosterone level was low, I was very lazy, but since I started boosting my tet levels (measurably) through supplements, it had a HUGE HUGE impact on my laziness... so it isn't always necessarily a psychological issue, but perhaps in others as well, a chemical issue.

    • @ActualizedOrg
      @ActualizedOrg  Před 9 lety +1

      Perhaps. I don't focus on chemical imbalances. That's something you should look into with your doctor.

    • @JonMcGill
      @JonMcGill Před 9 lety +2

      Actualized.org
      It is a pretty common chemical imbalance... most guys go through it when they get old. Have you ever measured your own level? They have a thing called HRT (hormone replacement therapy), and I have seen personally what going from the minimum level of Testosterone to a normal level does to you. The effects influence several categories of self-improvement... depression, laziness, masculinity or attractiveness to women, physical shape-muscles, also on the negative side - anger, although I think I am getting a grip on my anger thanks to some of these psychological methods like what you talked about... BTW. your video on anger is very good! Keep up the good work, Leo!

    • @ActualizedOrg
      @ActualizedOrg  Před 9 lety +2

      Jon McGill Yes, I have. My testosterone is pretty high.
      There are MANY chemical imbalances possible that create fatigue: thyroidism, CFS, low cortisol, low sex hormones besides testosterone, low vitamin D, etc, etc. Fatigue is a very general issue with hundreds of possible causes, both physiological and psychological.

    • @JonMcGill
      @JonMcGill Před 9 lety

      Actualized.org
      Yes, that is true. I wish I would have known about checking the testosterone earlier in my life. In Finland, where I lived for the last 20 years, socialist medicine is very reactive, not proactive, so now that I moved back here to the states, especially here in Asheville, where there are a lot of retirees, I'm taking full advantage of the expertise... but I haven't checked the other ones you mentioned... doctor visits aren't free, but obviously very worthwhile... but, since my testosterone issue has been fixed, I can tell I am getting myself back on track in life.. your videos have helped alot... In particular the ones about stopping watching tv and getting friends, pulling myself out of depression. I have a similar story to you, I think, in a lot of ways, regarding life purpose... I was a software engineer for Nokia for many years, and it was only the last few years that I realized that I've been living in a self made purgatory because I haven't been passionate about my job... my current prospect is to become a police... I'm gonna study criminal justice next fall, and this summer I will work at a YMCA summer camp and be a counselor for kids. I'm really looking forward to that. My health is the best it has been, probably ever, and now I just have to fix the other parts of my life related to purpose of life... your videos are really spot on, with respect to that! I'd love to take on a coach like you, but at the moment, I don't fit your criteria since I am unemployed (at least until June)... and also don't meet the salary requirements you mention on your site.

    I liked the way you explained the things. I have the laziness problem from last 9-10 years. Also one thing which shocked me is, most of the time in life i make myself thinking hard when if found that condition is worse, so convincing myself for stop being lazy and just do it. But as you said, its not a positive motivation it was the negative motivation which i was giving to myself every-time i was in the worst situation only.(It works only until that bad phase is there.)
    From so many years, i am kind of a lazy person. When i saw a singing performance, thinking to be a good singer, if watching a good athlete on TV at the same moment thinking to be a good athlete and so on. Its just a mental happiness which i give to myself. Never able to achieve goals either short or long, which i wrote on paper for myself every single day, week, month. Sometimes it makes me think that i can't really do anything. Even-though i am good at programming, having good opportunities to work on.. but the same unsorted problem of being laziness destroys every dream.

What you have revealed for me is that a lack of balance between service and personally-defined life purpose is necessary.
