Thanks for the Deck Tech, as always!
And I must say, I have been pleasantly surprised with Siren (V)’s performance. Almost like a few more copies of Sahagin Chief to make sure the Lev 9 goes through or soft protection to pull off a Tidus LB. My most underrated card this set.
I’ve also found that the new 1cp Clavat with Astrogolian enables Siren and antiaggro just a little bit more. I’ve gone with a 2/2 split with Geomancer.

Yeah, I like the Clavat too! Water is definitely the best home for that kind of ability - a Mono deck with decent EX potential.

I've been running the standard unit backup package with WoL and 3x Yunas in a summon focused lineup with only 11 backups, and so far its been ramping insanely well. I've only had 5 games with it so far but the deck feels great.

I've continued to iterate on these lists and have come to very similar conclusions.
      Leaning more into Tros+Levis.

I hate to ask, but is Shiryu a replaceable card? There aren't any on TCGplayer, and when there is, he is almost $40. I want a mono deck, and this looks fun.

There’s nothing that does *exactly* what Shinryu does but if I had to look for a budget way to replace it, Shinryu 14 is quite a solid meta call right now to run at 1 copy (and at 7 dollars), and you’d need to fill the other two slots with some other good stuff water cards. Admittedly, you’re going to have worse games sometimes against aggro occasionally because of it. I still don’t hate the Opus 1 Cloud of Darkness if you *must* run a mono-water board wipe that’s not Leviathan but you might be better off just trying to play slower payloads. Steve can probably tell you if there’s any other considerations he’d make.
Edit: Oh, you can run 1 Shinryu, 1 Cloud of Darkness and 1 Larsa to get the best among them or Levi or Ashe for the situation. It’s not *ideal* but will get the job done in all but the most serious of tournaments.

Shinryu is more replaceable in Mono Water than in Mono Wind IMO, because Water actually has decent early removal unlike Wind.
There are some Water lists that don't play Shinryu at all, like this one!

Siren (V) looks like Counterbalance from MTG except better if neither have deck manipulation at play.

Does Leviathan, Lord of the Whorl (14-102L) see itself being bounced by Leviathan (4-143R) and do the 9k trigger to an opponents card? MTG brain says no, but FFTCG says maybe?

I always enjoy cards that remind me of MTG cards!
I'm genuinely curious if the card will take off, or if people will decide against putting a card with such a "random" effect in decks.

I have a slightly different Questions that usuall... How do you beat this deck? With things like WoD, Retainers, Knights or FFVIII I/L variant and Mono Wind those are the decks I play and a Mono version myself but I cant really figure out how to play against this deck - it just does so much 😅

    • @YunaYoungTeam
      @YunaYoungTeam  Před měsícem

The truth of the matter is, Mono Water is an exceptional deck - tier 1 or 1.5 or whatever for sure - and as with all such decks, it's so good at what it does, it isn't limited to playing in one style or totally dependent on one strategy.
Generally, Earth has a good time. It's possible to use Mist Dragon to mitigate BZ stuff, but never do it at the expense of your economy. O21 Neo Exdeath also does a lot to cripple Monster OTK setup boards.
Generally Wind also has an easy time, and a well-played Ice/Wind Storm list is genuinely a 99:1 matchup, Water can't do anything to it other than hope they don't draw Backups.
But if you're trying to beat Water with a lower tier or meme deck, you simply aren't going to very often.

@@YunaYoungTeam thanks... I will try with my Ice Wind deck, its a storm list similiar to yours.
