- Related to the COVID-19 nightmare would be this. Germ warfare as it goes chaotic, no thanks to China and Russia that caused it as they had their border warfare. Based on the novel by Richard Matheson, we see on how people get killed when the virus they caused struck, as it brought our world to its end. Way before the virus evolved as to those that get infected like Matthias the news reporter, they become fleshy headed albino mutants. All except for Robert Neville, the omega man himself.
Zerbe is so underrated. It sickens me how little love he gets for his acting abilities
He did retire by the late 2010’s. Sometime after the release of “American Hustle”. As of 2024, while his birthday is in late May, he’s almost as old as Clint Eastwood.
Anthony Zerbe is a great actor. Love him in everything he's ever done.
Anthony Zerbe really steals this movie. Matthias is more interesting than Neville.
@@LordZontar His character did grew psychotic when he became a fleshy headed mutant. In fact, other than what he did in “The Dead Zone”, you should’ve seen him as the bad guy in one of those James Bond movies. “License To Kill” with Timothy Dalton.
Oh and how he was Councillor Hamann in two of the Matrix movies.

No now it's India, and South America, people in India are dying at the front doors of hospitals, all are completely overwhelmed. 400k a day are sickened, and deaths are said to be close to 4k a day, which is said to be very low estimate by the government. It's more like 10-12k deaths a day. Drs have to step over plague victims in the hospital it's so bad, O2 is in desperate need! Vaccines are so low also in South America. Less than 2% of India has the jab. Let's hope a new stronger strain don't reopen here and in Europe.

And how many Chinese citizens have died from Covid-19 in the last twelve MONTHS? .... The answer is two. That's right, TWO. Only two. TWO !!! Furthermore, in all of China, there are less than 300 active cases of Covid-19 and every last one of those nearly 300 active cases are "imported" infections that were brought to China from overseas. All "imported" cases get sniffed out, and then snuffed out by China's powerful and overwhelming testing and quarantine procedures. Nothing gets through. To date, as of 5-13-2021, China still has vaccinated less than 25 percent of its population. Yet China crushed Covid-19 like nobody else, and did so a long time ago without even the help of vaccine. They have 1.4 billion people. 1.4 B I L L I O N !!! And those people were all FORCED to keep their distance from each other by the ruling Communist government, under penalty of death if they failed to social distance at ALL times. Too bad India and the United States did not likewise adopt and enforce such harsh measures. Hundreds of thousands of lives could have been saved. You don't fool around with a world wide plague. Individual rights and freedoms should have to go out the window, in all nations, democracy or not, until the plague is all but obliterated. Everywhere. Covid-19 has to be smashed everywhere. No exceptions.

They have 1.4 billion people and Covid-19, including all variants to date, can gain no traction at all there. None. In China it has been like this with Covid-19 now for more than 15 straight months. And counting. There is nothing Covid-19 related in China worth trying to cover up, other than maybe the origin of this monstrosity. As for me, I grimly throw all caution to the wind and become quite careless in what I wish for concerning the handling of Covid-19 and the drastic steps that governments will need to take to properly annihilate it. Beyond awesome movie hand's down I remember seeing this @ the theater 1971 I was 4 year's old this movie saw the future on what was to come!!

Forget nuclear. Germ warfare. The Americans know that so do the Chinese and the Russians. We witnessed a glimpse with COVID. It's perfect as it leaves city's untouched and is hard to find who the culprit is. This film was well above it's time.
You do make a good point though. Right now, I’m glad it’s far from over after it ended in early 2023.

It makes sense that we wouldn't comply because not only was it not as dangerous as the media made it seem to be, but it genuinely is our right to not comply to those policies. If this virus happened instead of Covid, then yes, we'd stay inside to stay safe. You're comparing a genuinely deadly biochemical weapon to a lung disease that has been around for a very long time and doesn't target anymore than 1% of the entire population.

Obviously, they’ve probably have figured out that the virus can be spread in the air. And how the army wore gas masks. It happened in “The Last Man on Earth” with Vincent Price. Anyone caught dead with the virus, would have their deceased victims in body bags, as how the army would throw them in a pit where all bodies must be burned. Not buried.

I was a little girl with a divorced dad who was taking me to all these dystopian movies in the early 1970's:
The Omega Man, Soylent Green, Andromeda Strain, Planet of the Apes ... and other movies less famous ... In my early 20's, I saw Thunderdome... then came WaterWorld and Day After Tomorrow ... and now those old movies are happening ... especially in large cities like Los Angeles, San Francisco, NYC and across Europe and Asia, Africa and Australia - and the " paradise islands" of Hawaii and the Caribbean, the South Pacific, etc. Most people are totally clueless.
Charlton Heston was the Arnold Schwarzenegger of his era.
It makes you wonder: what would the outcome be with the plague right now if it keeps going?

Remake of "the last man on earth" starring Vincent Price, 1964. Later followed by several more remakes, most notable being "I Am Legend" starring Will Smith in 2007.
They're not remakes, its all adaptations of the novel "I Am Legend" (1953)
This is the best one, the alternate ending is better

Anthony Zerbe almost always played menacing characters. And he was brilliant at it. I especially love his role in Papillion. He's the leader of the leper colony thieves. He offer Steve McQueen a drag on his cigar. Steve McQueen has that look in his face like but he goes ahead and does it Anthony's Zerbe asks how did he know that I have dry leprosy? Steve McQueen rrplied he didn't. Anthony's Zerbe chuckles which saved SMc life.

JC! Current newscasters are close to this level of hyperbole for Covid. Relax its not the end of the world. But panic brings ratings...they are despicable!
So are restrictions. When they close up places. Just three weeks ago, I wanted to go see a movie in theatres that was coming all the way from the Far East. At the last few days, they called it off right when they closed the theatres. Now I can’t seem to get it before they announce the nominees for the Oscars soon.
No Ray, I think you're wrong, after two year's of doing all I can not to get the corona plague I got it 4 days ago. It's now in my lungs and my hope is the antibiotics work or I'm doomed. There's also another threat from Russia of nuclear war. Is as the man says the last of our day's coming? We shall see
@@m42037 So did you die? Iver*ectin works very well both preventative and as a treatment. Apparently I've had it at some point, as I had a blood test for antibodies, but the two times I was ill last year were much less than colds I've had in the past. No fatigue, no joint pain, no loss of taste or smell. I was a bit dizzy that first time but well within 3 days. Congestion held on the second time for 2 weeks but that was it. Follow I MASK protocol (vitamins) since fall of 2021. Still follow those. Now I have natural immunity. No experimental shots ever.

Opening credits showed quite a few dead rotted corpses in the buildings.

If you were in any major US city for where the world ends, where would you be? Los Angeles? Or NYC? In the movie, it takes place in NYC. In the very early movie, “The Last Man on Earth” with Vincent Price, took place in a city somewhere in Italy. 🇮🇹 TRUE STORY.
