Fun fact: Although the ghost is affectionately known as Slimer, he never actually recieved that name officially until The Real Ghostbusters.
The staff called the puppet of that ghost Onion Head because it spreaded an awful smell.

And the siren of the ecto-1. And when they stop firing proton beams theres a sound like something turning off. Sometimes when i clean the house vacuum makes a sound like it and it gives me joy lol.

I love the detail of Slimer phasing thru the wall and his ghost force (I'll go with that) dragging the table with supernatural force. This movie was ahead of it's time in execution, imagination and the writing... so brilliant.

Ya know even though it's never mentioned. You have to figure the US military must have wanted the blueprints for the proton packs. Though used for catching ghost. What Egon basically made was a directed energy weapon with unlimited energy. And it's quite destructive as shown many times.

Like the look of this so much better than modern CGI. We need more practical effects like this in new movies today. Slimer still looks amazing, this has aged wonderfully.

After scaring that lady like never before, they won't even help her put out the fire they started or clean her damaged equipment.
I love how blurry the ghost is, makes it scarier especially when it’s flying down the hallway with its giant human mouth wide open.
The old CGI just makes this scene that much funnier

Nope, definately not CGI (Computer Generated Imagery) at this era of technology. Probably handmade animation, like in cartoons of the era, glass transparencies projected on film. Overlayed stop motion made from wax. With really high frame rate to make it realistic.

When I saw this film, I thought that it was a horror film & how slimer scared the holy hell out of me but it was just action and comedy so nobody was killed in this movie but Peter should've pulled out proton throwers at cause he wouldn't have got slimed otherwise

You can see it mostly falling through him hence the food on the floor and so on, Slimer seems to be mostly made up of ectoplasm, unlike many of the other ghosts, where ectoplasm is just a bi-product. Slimer is so cool in this film, The Real Ghostbusters and the 2009/2019 (remaster) PC videogame

@@SlyFox98912 Multiple answers to that, interesting, annoying, potentially expensive and so on. The Ghostbusters in the Real Ghostbusters cartoon see him as a pet really but in the first film he is just an entity that happens to be around, Slimer escapes during the containment failure scene

@@SlyFox98912 Only that based on the character of Slimer, he seems to nonstop eat and so on, so food expenses and replacing things might cost alot of money in the long run. He is also bumbling and clumsy. That's all. I will say take the expense comment I made with a pinch of salt though.
