Port Stephens Koala Sanctuary

A partnership between Port Stephens Council, the NSW Government and volunteer care group Port Stephens Koalas, the Koala Sanctuary is focused on sustaining and protecting the threatened species for years to come.
The long-awaited conservation facility is purpose-built to care for sick, injured and orphaned koalas, and it also provides visitors the opportunity to see the marsupials in their natural habitat and learn about our unique koala population. You can view the koalas in their natural habitat via the Newcastle Airport Pty Limited SKYwalk and elevated viewing platform. There is also deluxe 4-star guest glamping accommodation available.
The Port Stephens Koala Sanctuary as a beautiful and unique destination and plays a special role in the conservation and rehabilitation of koalas in Port Stephens.

We simply love them. How could we not! They deserve all the protection they can get. And for that, The Koala Protection Act is a must! So that we don't end up seeing them only in sanctuaries and zoos!

Good with that. Qld govt has just approved the clearing of thousands of hectares for housing. Now puts it on par with the destruction of the Amazon rainforest.

Malheureusement il n'y a plus que dans des endroits comme celui ci, que l'on pourra voir de près des koalas d ici quelques années, car il n'y aura bientôt plus de koalas sauvages si le gouvernement australien ne fait rien pour sauver l'espèce....😕😔😫🇫🇷
