This is so stupid. The Bills wanted Coleman. Had they just stood pat and drafted Coleman the Chiefs still would have most likely picked up Worthy. In the end, the Bills traded back 5 spots with KC and Carolina but bolstered 4 other picks by a total of 150+ spots. The Chiefs went backwards 120 spots on their own - How is that helping the Chiefs? Bill Belicheck said it on the Pat MacAfee show- worry about improving your own team. Don't worry about trying to mess up someone else.
I think the Chiefs thought the Niners were going after Worthy. Its the only reason trading up only 4 spots makes sense.

Hindsight. GMs trade up to eliminate the chance that someone takes their guy. They obviously don’t know who teams are going to take, they know what teams have that positional need though, and the 9ers needed a wideout. The bills needed a middle round pick. They got their guy and the chiefs got their guy.

Calling Penix a project QB is crazy, him and Bo are arguably two of the most NFL ready with their combined 12 years of college experience. That’s why ATL is getting all that flack because Penix ISNT a project QB that needs to sit behind Cousins for 4 years. Jordan Love was a project QB and Penix doesn’t need to benefit from sitting behind Cousins the way Love did Rodgers.
Everyone's giving Atlanta crap but they are giving themselves tremendous insurance in case Cousins sucks or gets hurt again, QB is the most position in sports and I feel there be no limit to trying to get a good quarterback, with a good qb, you're never out of it

Just so you know, worthy didn’t participate in those drills but probably would have beat that time. Either way, Keon Coleman only won 33.3 percent of his contested catches … not great. Worthy had a better contested catch rate his freshman year when he played with a better qb.
@@njkoch Yeah I mean Worthy was still clocked at 22.7 MPH on the field. But I Agree. I honestly think people got scared of the speed at the combine because so many of those guys bust. But Worthy has be very productive since 18 years old in BIGTIME sec college football and he is a lot more than just a speed guy so I think he was taken right about in the right spot.

Penix is not a project QB, he has 6 years starting experience as a college QB. No one is ever ready to make the jump from college to NFL but no one can be more pro-ready than him
They said both Josh Allen and Patty Mahomes were projects but I think it worked out well for both teams

Still doesn't make it any more weird you pay a ton of money for a QB already well established as one of the best in the league. Only to then draft a guy who will be 28 years old by the time that guys contract ends. So either they signed Cousins with idea their going to pay him tons of money to not play for them, or their praying Penix will age like wine somehow. Would of made far more sense to draft a non QB in a position of more need at that high in the 1st round. Pick your possible future QB in the 2nd or 3rd. Better yet a year or two later into Cousins contract. Whether Penix turns out great or not doesn't make their pick any less stupid.

Because he didnt fit them like he does us. Most QB's dont have the arm strength to take advantage of his speed, those that do are the Bills and Chiefs, and teams that dont need a WR. There are only a few QB's that can hit a streaking WR 60 yards downfield.

i dont think Worthy could replace Hill tbh. different players. If you watch Worthy's film, hes route running isnt elite, and his crazy speed doesnt show in his route running. Most of his catches made hes covered or has a DB on him. (not to say it isnt impressive) Where he excels is after the catch, thats where his speed takes off. Maybe with Mahomes's arm talent hell be able to exploit his speed. I just dont see the comparison to Tyreek Hill. I see him more as a Devin Hester type player. Will be interesting to watch for sure. Def in a good position considering hell be KCs #1-2 receiving option behind Kelce

Mahomes was a ‘project QB’ as well. Worthy has played 3 years of big time college football as WR & as the main punt returner. He never missed a game in 3 seasons. He played most all of his sophomore season with a broken hand. I think he’s tough enough.
