Below is the official rule on low blows from the British boxing board rule book.
3.31 Points will be awarded:-
For "attack" - direct clean hits with the knuckle part of the glove of either hand to any part of the front or side of the head or body above the belt. The "belt" is defined as an imaginary line drawn across the body from the top of the hip bones.
So according to this, that is clearly a low blow. All the ignorant and clueless CZcamsrs can shut up now and move on.
what's it say in the polish boxing board rule book? I assume the BBBofC has no jurisdiction beyond the UK territory.
It did look high enough but who knows if it would have stopped him fully. He did look sore and maybe wouldn't have got up...well nevr know now lol neymind
@@girltal.khe was NEVER getting up in 10 seconds
@@benji187Why don't you take a shot in the same spot? I think you would change your mind.
Don Charles was screaming finish him to Dubois when Usyk was recovering but yet he didn’t, nor did he actually look like he could. I like Usyk but I was shouting for Dubois but another knee? He hardly protested when counted out. He has no champion heart that champions need to be champions😳
Lol you do know after the blow landed they stopped the fight for 5 minutes

Apart from today. Everyone else saying low blow
@@Ryannic25the majority are saying legal shot and you know it.
@@rossa23 You need to get your eyes / ears checked.
Dominic hits the nail on the head as usual .
If you look at the freeze frame half of the glove is below the belt and half on the belt; in such cases it is a low blow. To be a legitimate shot needs to have no part below the belt.
One would have thought that Dominic Ingle would know any punch below the Belly button is Illegal, not legitimate shot.
Meh... i half agree and half don't.. The truth is we'll never know if he wouldve got up.. because of the stupid Ref.. but what we do know is that he took the full fives minutes.. so that tells us just how hurt he was otherwise there wouldnt have been any need to take the whole five minutes to recover..So he was definitely more hurt than we think..And even if he did get up there wouldve been two minutes left in the round and you're that hurt.. i lean more towards Dubois getting the stoppage in that moment. If you could carry on then you wouldve within 10 seconds i don't buy that he wouldve been ok with two more minutes in the round he was finished.
@@MaskedFighterYou take 5 min strategically anyways
Dominic is wrong about the low blow. It was an illegal shot that landed below Usyk's belly button
Thank goodness for people like Dom in boxing. Just plain and simple common sense
he was wrong regarding low blow though
I don’t think it was low but it didn’t make much difference anyway really
So if Usyk comes to UK and hits Fury in the groin you will not change your mind? And Usyks shorts was not high, Dubois had hes shorts higher. If it was not a low blow, how come it was the only punch with any kind of effekt on Usyk?
Usyk didn’t get hit in the groin. He got hit just around the naval area. He was shaking like a shitting dog on the floor. He wasn’t getting up. Also, there was a few times he looked uncomfortable with body shots.. just like he did against Joshua. 😊
@@variousrantsask someone to hit you in the cup area during a sparring session and check if it's painful.
My personal perspective of that hit it's low blow its seems like he's aiming for that blow below the belt oh my personal perspective of Debios blow bless all peace cheers
The shots you don't see hurt you the most or knock you down or out.

some time back end of september pal
Thank you. First person calling it , when you fight away from home for a title your not going to get ANY 50/50 call just the way it goes
this guy should see it again in a slow motion and check where the point of impact was at the beginning - it was a clear low blow. The confusion comes from the fact that, after the point of contact, DDD's glow started moving up and stopped on the low line of the belt (which is also a low blow btw).
It was a clear legal shot
@@rossa23 *illegal
@@rossa23 dubous belt line was about 5 inches higher than usyks
@@Fightfan... Dubois isn’t the one who was on his ass for 5 minute faking a low blow
@@rossa23 your boy threw multiple low blows all night just to quit from a jab
Wow.. it was actually on the bottom of the belt line. It was an uppercut so knuckles on the bottom of the punch. It was inside the left hip and below the belly button.
But when you see the punch in a still image on the right side of Usyk you see how he has his shorts pulled up. You can tell from the pic even Dubois knuckles are in line with top of Usyks hip line. Definitely not a low blow
Usyk always wears his shorts above his naval
@@tomdonler2363 look closer, your referring to the image Dubois posted. Compare that with the actual video of the fight. Make sure you reference multiple angles. Notice in Dubois’s image Usyk’s glove is missing compared to in real life it’s moving towards Dubois’s glove in the punch sequence. Notice Dubois’s glove positioning is showing the glove hitting the belt line and some on the body. Notice in the video angles that’s never the case and there is no point where Usyk’s white glove wouldn’t be visible like in the image Dubois posted. Clear photoshopped image making the punch look different than it really was. 🤷♂️😅 Some people will always claim “egg shaped form” 🤣 but it don’t make it true. Low blow inside the left hip below the line.
@@2HighNoon couldn't be bothered to read all that I'm afraid. Way too trippy
@@tomdonler2363 🤷♂️ whatever.
Stop allowing high beltlines problem solved ( Dubois was a lot higher) also Dubois benefited from the long rest too . Probably more than usyk. And no rematch deserved ( dubious) Dubois quit on his knee. From a fking jab
Certain body shapes require you have your shorts higher or they fall down easily no offence a professional referee should be able to tell where a low blow is with out seeing the belly button
How did Dubois benefit from the long rest? This was the beginning of the fifth round, he wasn't tired yet.
Exactly what i said if the ref started counting usyk wouldn't of stayed down
Really enjoy Dom Ingles interviews! Keep em coming!
During a interview in the ring.. Dubios hinted that he quit because of fatigue.
He didn't seem to show great heart which is why I haven't got much sympathy for the low blow controversy.
@@MrDunkygvery very true. It’s like he has no brain or heart. If he carried on could he floor him with another body shot? We won’t know as he didn’t give himself a chance. That’s three times now Joyce, Lemara and Usyk.

Interesting...... watched a 20 mins Carl Froch interview on the fight and his view was that it was a low blow and the ref made the right call.
Great interview again, your camera is immense it feels likes Doms sat in the same room as me 😂

Damn good interview that mate.

Dom should know the rules, anything below the naval, he should know better
I think it was low. If you look at the angle from behind you see which part of Usyk body took the blunt of the hit. But I understand how it can be argued either way. Dom was fair and balanced in what he said. Anybody who is "certain that it was a legitimate shot" is blinded by their bias. It's not certain either way.

👉 If Uysk had managed to rise at the count of eight after being dropped by Dubois's body shot, the immense pain he experienced could still have severely limited his ability to defend himself proficiently.
This compromised defense would have provided Dubois, who remained relatively fresh, with a clear opportunity to unleash a barrage of heavy blows. While this scenario is hypothetical, it's worth considering that it's rare for a fighter to recover swiftly from a body shot that immobilized them to such an extent.
Fending off an aggressive opponent in that state becomes an uphill battle, and the boxer who initially landed the impactful blow, like Dubois, could have had a plausible chance to secure victory through a sustained offensive assault.
If Dubois was mentally tougher I could see that happening but Dan is not a complete fighter. He lacks self confidence, killer instinct and heart. Nothing personal just my observation. Uysyk on the other hand is like Gatti he’s gonna fight through it and make intelligent decisions in there. I like Dubois but he’s missing something. He basically quit bc he was tired emotionally and physically.
@@donmcmillan4388good points. Focusing on the body shot is just papering over the cracks with Dubois. It was quite shocking to see how easily he went down and then stayed down. Especially when he was fighting for 3 world titles. Not sure how he is going to overcome that tendency to quit when the going gets tough.
I take your point .But let's not forget he could of got up and if still hurt gone down on one knee for an right count and scrapped through to the bell a boxer of usyks ability would of done that I'm sure
Fact is Dubois still had the majority of the round to finish off Usyk if he was capable.
Dubious knew he was robbed after Usyk got up, throwing Dubious concentration out the window. It's understandable why Dubious quit.
Not a level playing field, clearly media and the boxing community wanted Usyk to win by hook or by crook.
Humble and very knowledgeable, talks sense and facts about boxing
Every time I listen he's always same person.
Dom always dropping some boxing knowledge in these interviews.
Hope he gets another champion in his gym soon.
If you teach people how to hit another low blow you are very evil intentions especially in boxing yes I had seen many boxers doings dirty boxing maybe accidentally or intentionally the boxers should knows the reasons bless all peace cheers
Usyk was never getting up tho, he was twitching on the floor 🤦♂️😂
Because it was a low blow
Ok this is becoming annoying. Let me break this down:
1. If it was truly a body shot, then Dubois should have finished him off. There was still over 2 mins left in that round and Usyk came back and battered him.
2. If Dubois really got him hurt, then he had a bigger advantage of winning the fight. That's the best chance he would ever get to KO a man that was wounded.
3. Dubois was significantly behind on all score cards as he was getting schooled by Usyk and it wasn't really a close fight. Landing one blow doesn't make it close at all.
4. If the referee started counting, Usyk could have gotten up. No one knows if he would have made the count but that's a different story altogether. So this argument is baseless.
5. Dubois got stopped by a lean-in jab. Hiw can someone who is fighting for 3 belts give up in that manner? Didn't he teach Dubois this in training?
6. Don kept calling Usyk a cheat. He is not the referee and he felt the punch was too low.
7. The rule says any punch below the hip is a low blow and Dubois glove was on the border line but with a big portion of his glove below the protection line of the waste band.
Conclusion... this is a boxing match and the target is supposed to be anywhere above the shots, not anywhere from the shots down. Usyk's shot was actually lower than Dubois, so the punch was definitely low.
Even if wasn't, Dubois had a better chance of winning than Usyk but clearly they are not on the same level.
Awful breakdown

Agreed.
What you on about rolling around? he just sat there, he would've got up he did the exact thing in the amateurs. if you get caught low the veteran move is to use as much time as given.
This man talks a lot of sense, very worth listening to!
Great information
The guard protects the groin and the padding comes up front to the belt line to protect the bladder. 3 ograns below belt line is kidneys bladder and balls. Why would I use a guard to protect my hips which is bone. I learnt this by my trainer back in th 70s
Thank you for clarifying it's the hip bone, which as somebody else said is slightly below the naval. The shot was legal.
Dom bringing clarity and sense to a contentious situation
Spot on fairplay
Finally, finally, finally an expert brave enough to speak the truth that the shot was legit (and I have no dog in this fight). Thank you. I disagree on the other bit. Usyk was never making the count. He was done and not even looking at the ref.
You sure it's finally?
@@JBLancs No :)
100% agreed the media darlings and ex-pro's on retainer too scared to go against the grain the deafening sound of the crowd said it all for me as well as Usyk saying this is boxing at the end? strange thing to say he knows he was done in and very lucky to get second bite at the cherry. Great Champ but I question his sportsmanship
@@owunzulike Spot on. Normally like Usyk and he's a warrior, but he was telling porkies after the fight claiming he was hit in the groin area. He doesn't like body shots. He was hurt by AJ which I also thought was legit (or more 50-50 perhaps), and previously in his career so it's no coincidence this happened.
You mean finally you find someone who shares your opinion?)
This is the most sense talking meet up in boxing right now. I don’t always agree with Dom on everything but even having said that he’s is the most logical informed unaffected opinion in boxing social media and the one I sort out in controversy
purple glove on the white trunks, part of that glove landed even lower than bottom of the belt and hit bladder, so 100% low blow. besides, if you re-watch that fight you'll see that Dubois was consistently punching below the belt.
I think it was a low blow , not a really low blow , like directly in the nuts …
Carl froch gave his view and said it was a low blow ..
the ref was in the best place to see the punch thrown and called it a low blow ..
Usyk had every right to take 4:30 mins rest if he wanted !
DDD just didn’t have the true grit and heart to win the fight !
I was about three feet from the action. We were hearing the effects of the punches, there were microphones all around the ring. You could hear the sound, I don’t know if you can hear it on TNT [Sports], maybe they were talking when the shot landed. But we weren’t talking, so we could hear it. You could hear the glove hit Usyk’s protector, well I could anyway. And by the way, why did he go down if he wasn’t hurt, it obviously hurt him. During that part of the fight Dubois was knackered, he was going to get stopped in a round I felt. I thought it was the start of the end for me. The rest did Dubois a favor, he could get a bit of air back in him. It was a low-blow, but there was no malice in it. It would have been a great shot if it was four inches higher. It wasn’t anywhere near the private parts but the protector is not there just to cover your crown jewels, if that was the case you would just wear a small cup. The protector is big and bulky, why would you want to wear one of those? There is a lot going on down there, you have your bladder down there, your appendix, reproductive system. If you get hit at the top of the protector it can ride down and it feels just like being hit in the bollocks.

Taking sense as ever
Boxing king media well done interviewing Dom quickly after the fight he is so good to listen too and talks common sense wish we could have one a week when possible from these too 👏
That’s aim as long as there is things to talk about
Dom always explains finite points so well... initially I thought the shot was clean but having seen it from another angle, the refs view ... he definitely got hit low... absolutely no doubt about it... it was an uppercut to the body and connected below the belt and carried on the contact on and below the top of the belt line.. I doubted usyk but not now
Heard Till the end..
all my respect. Super neutral and professional resumee!
What about getting hit in the bladder which sits above the crotch and also covered by the guard. That's quite painful too.
Absolutely bang what Dom is saying , usik would of got up if ref did count to 10 , down to the ref
Straight talking a breath of fresh air.
The last punch was a glancing straight look like a jab or one of those you throw just to keep movement going not bothering wether it connects

Also Peter Fury 👌🏻
And not biased, very rare indeed!
BKM - Dom ingle 👍 it’s the proper content.
Now, that‘s how you talk about boxing
I love listening to dominic ingle speak he seems to speak how it is and honesty
Usyk as seen from his record is no baby and would not have gone down without reason. The photo showed it was below the waistline so the referee was right. Instead of focusing on Usyk ,why not consider why Dubois quit in the ring which had nothing to do with the alleged low blow. Good video.
Listen to the expert again!
bigggg upp nice to see a fef doing his job respect
Like most people they have reviewed the punch several times? Some say Low ? Some say Not Low ? Usyks Shorts were High ? No belly button showing ? So punching on the waistband was a Legal punch ? Also the Referee was on the Blind side of the punch when it landed ? So when Usyk went to the canvas the Referee immediately assumed it was a Low Blow, and instructed Usyk several Times to stay down, and gave nearly 3 minutes before Usyk got to his Feet, then another 1 minute before restarting the Fight ? So "IF" the Referee thought it was a Low Blow then "WHY" was No Point Deducted from Dubois in that round ???? This seems to have been Overlooked by most people ? Dom Ingle has been around Boxing and Boxers all his Life and clearly says it was a Legal punch, Karl Frampton and Spencer Oliver were Ringside and both said it was a Legal punch. So unless Usyks anatomy is different from other humans then the Referee was Wrong and should have started the Count and Not continually told Usyk to stay down ???
True .
My sentiments exactly.
Quality perspective from Mr Ingle
It was below the top of the hip bones and the navel Ref called it perfectly
Always on the money this man

Glad you are ok BKM. ❤
Totally honest no matter which boxer he talks about never bye pass he doing interviews
Even after the stupidly long recovery time the ref before he let them start again, made a point of saying "look at me, look at me" etc to dubois, clearly bent af ref, he had nearly 5 minutes to say that to dubois, but the way he added it as another delay before he finally let them restart imo.
Even if i agree he was hard done by he had hurt Usyk be fair means or foul so why didnt he take his chance and finish him? Dubois quit his chance of being world champion so far from being robbed he didnt deserve it. That is all you need to know.
@@davidwright4079 i said about look at me etc, that was essentially mean eyes from ref telling dubois whos side he was on, dubois started to look deflated from then imo, i get your point that a "champion" wouldnt be so easily put off his game but hes only human n when youre being cheated n u know it, it can ruin u mentally n stop u performing, make u give up imo.
Imagine the world said U had no chance, a slim punchers chance, then in front of the world u landed the best bodyshot u will ever land in your entire career n it results in a nearly 5 minute delay, after which the ref himself gives u a message of mean eyes, youd fall apart at the seams imo.
Mate your spot on

Dom along with Peter Fury two of the most honest in British Boxing
I think his assesment was the most fair and unbiased one so far! yes the punch was legitimate it was not low blow, but that, would not have changed the result because Osyk would have got up and finished him as he did !
I don't think Ingle knows what Fatal means 😂
The shot Dubois hit Usyk with was very clearly in the bladder, which is obviously a low blow, I don’t understand why this is so confusing for people 😂

this is exactly right
Lol he really needs to reread the BBBC rule book🤣 It clearly state's and this was confirmed by Carl Froch and many other pros that, any blow below the naval/bellybutton is classed as a low blow and it clearly was.
