- Today we make a quick trip to Camp Morgan to put up some trail cameras and stake the driveway location. Then came home and moved some dirt to neighbor Cliff's. #offgrid #buyingland

“Camp Morgan” couldn’t be a better name! Let us know if you guys ever need a hand at the new property 😊
Yea that would be great, besides you two have so much spare time lol. But seriously we need to get together sometime this summer
@@OutdoorsWithTheMorgans It's a small world here in CZcams
@@OutdoorsWithTheMorgans This would be awesome - the two favorate channels together - in W.V.!
WWOG & OWTM at one time would be a trip of all trips ~ What A Hoot That Would Be.
I think we all would invite this collaboration between the two best channels on you tube. I’ll volunteer for some weekend labor myself 👍👍
My heart skipped a beat when I saw that burl the first time. Glad you pointed it out when it came around the second time. Congrats on the new place. Not far from where we are looking right now.
Good place to do a fly over with your drone . Get a real good look at the property from above .
It’s real important to get permanent visible makers for your property. I own a rather odd shaped property and went in search of the far corner marker…. After 40 years it had disappeared out in the woods. It only took almost a year to find it. It now has a t-post with a pvc cover. Save yourself some future grief and mark those corners good!
What's Visible Makers ? Lmmfao 🤣😆🙉😂🤡
Some times the marker is a rock with a hole in it and buried after years of debris on it. Lol
Very nice peace of land Morgan's just a gentle rise into the middle, also no shortage of houses building material don't forget to get it re-surveyed. Congratulations from down under.
When we took a forestry class we learned about "On X Maps" and we have used it to Mark gps locations a ton on our property and off roading.
They support a couple channels of offroad content I watch also!
I live on 40 acres in Mercer county near Ohio line. I just discovered more storm damage like yourself from the big Saturday two weeks ago. Days of cleaning ahead this winter.I like to keep my woods clean.
Wow, $75 to trip down n back! $5 a gallon, we are getting close to 5 bucks but not just yet. Your truck gets great fuel mileage for the power it has. Your property is just beautiful, I love it. I'm so happy for you and am anxious to see the upcoming videos! Can't thank you enough for sharing! See ya tomorrow at Cliff's! 👍🚜❤
I would definitely consider a driveway gate at the new spot. If you make it real easy for people to get back in off the road and out of sight, sounds like a perfect place to start dumping old sofas and crap.
Na....people just dump them on the side of the road.
When we first purchased our property there were logging roads. Access was easy but past history showed it had lots of visitors that did not clean up their mess. Once this was cleaned up we built an Adirondack Style Lean-to with the white pine that was all around us. It was a fun and relatively easy project once we figured out how to fit them together without a lot of gaps. It took a season of weekends to get it up and covered. You certainly have the materials to do something like that. Your beautiful property has the potential for lots of good times and a possibility of a selective harvest that could pay some bills. Good luck! Can't wait to see your progress.
ah the straight lines of a red pine forest! just spectacular!
Wow! Look at all those Ferns, beautiful!
That Is Some Gourgous Property!! Love The Area Seams Fairly Remote!! A
Log Cabin At Camp Morgan!! Would Look Awesome Nestled In The Pines!! ❤
Keep Smiling On!!
😀👍👊
In the spring when all the ferns are unfolding new leaves you can pick them and sauté them in butter. A fine side dish to whatever is the main course is.
Great ride this morning Mike and a nice walk in the woods to set the driveway boundary. You'll have a great time working over there trying to get it set up before winter in W. VA. Can't wait to see the measurement of the snow where you bought. It's going to be beautiful. It's looking great to get the work started over at Cliff's place, that's going to be an awesome party pad once they get it all built and will be a great retreat for them. Stay safe and keep up the fun. Fred.
Mike, that is going to be a very nice family property, generations of Morgans just got a nice legacy, and a side note, you and Mellisa are great parent’s, good on you!
Large pine stands are always so quiet. You here wind in the trees, but other noises seem to be filtered out.
Putting in a road entrance good idea putting in poles and a chain cross or steal gate
If you put a pavilion to stay dry make sure you put a long overhang on any structure if you get a lot of snow where you're at 18" minimum.Check out where water move on land . I think you and Melissa hit a home run. What a road you have with 2' of snow you'll be glad you have your 4x4
You would be Smart to buy 10 acres that ties into your woods, if owner is willing to sell. I'm sure you would never regret it !
Beautiful new property could almost smell the clean air walking through the forest, very nice to see another portion of your new property, beautiful property
Good morning to all from SE Louisiana 5 Jun 22.
I think that your new property is great. I hope that you are going to be able to get video of your projects there also. I think that you should maybe put something on your boundaries so you know exactly where you are.
The new property looks really beautiful Mike, and I know there must be a thousand visions of what you 2 could do there, whatever it turns out to be, I'm sure we are all gonna enjoy seeing you guys put it all together.
Nice property, build you another mini cabin!!
What a beautiful stand of trees-and forest!
As a professional land surveyor, I am hopeful that you received a current plat of survey when you purchased the property so that you have something documenting what you own. If not, I would highly recommend obtaining one so that you know where your lines are 100% for certain.
So being back east isn't surveying done by Meats and Bounds...not Township,Range, and Sections right?
@@robertshoemaker6204 yes, that is typically the case. East of Ohio most surveys are metes and bounds. Either way, it is good to have a professional plat of survey conducted to know the limits of your real estate and how it corresponds to the legal description provided.
@@randellgann3234 Thank you for the response. Shoe
I love walking properties like that and finding the old fence rows and rock piles and seeing new forest growth versus old to see what used to be open fields or pasture and imagining how the land was used in the past. Great video. Also.... love the idea of not putting a camp in the middle of the ground. That just leaves more ground for the deer to be undisturbed for hunting. I know deer live anywhere but I would think the more ground you have further from camp, the better as far as not chasing deer off the property as you come and go into camp.
Really hope you talk yourself into building a log cabin with all those pines. It’s not that difficult and you’ll see the logs every day. Instead of just lumber hidden in the walls.
Camp Morgan is beautiful, great find.
Congrats on the land buy - you need to purchase an on X maps subscription for WV to provide an arial and topographical view of your property. On X also allows you to see your property boundaries, drop marker pins (e.g., trail camera locations), and know the surrounding property owners. Cuddelink trail cameras are also a must so you can view your cameras remotely.
When I bought my wooded property I had to find the stakes, some were covered in brush. I put 4' T Posts by the stakes and painted them bright orange.
Mike there are few feelings of accomplishment that can pass the feeling of your own boots walking your own land... happy for you both... well deserved..
That's a Beautiful Woods, I am sure you are correct about the stone pile, nice high ground, lush green forest floor. Good job finding that land.👍
Looking forward to seeing how you proceed. Great property with so much potential. Good luck, stay safe and have fun on your journey!
West Virginia land is so inexpensive. It's a wonder there is any land left down there, but there's tons of it. Congrats on your purchase, look forward to seeing it come to life.
Thanks for the ride along. Beautiful country. We'll enjoy the development of Camp Morgan. A road through the center from one road to the other would be nice. We have a sandy road through Our 114 acre wood lot on the family farm.
Nice parcel of land. We bought some property and it was fun checking it out.
Walking through losing your bearings and then finding it again and planning road and clearing driveway. Look forward to your videos.
Trail Camera
I laughed when you said fence post so you can find it
Im sure I still have a couple camera out on our property that I have forgotten about before I started plotting them on my app
My app also has property lines and owner identification
Uses google earth and I can actually see our property and buildings everything pretty cool
Thanks for sharing

Camp Morgan is a great name. 👍
Be thankfull that you don't have our gas prices like we do here in Canada. Its $260 to fill my F150. Its $1.69 a liter here, thats $7.60 a gallon.
Thanks for the adventure Mike! Great to be on the journey with you. I see there is power which is useful if you ever need it. Great to see you so excited.
Great video ! I use to take a roll of Caution tape or colored rope with me, so I didn't get turned around. You can put it high or low on trees.
Beautiful country ❤ ♥ 😍
Enjoy this property it looks very good. I put T posts 3 to 4 feet in the ground to witness my Hub/Corner pins. I was surprised you needed a permit for a driveway. One reply was interesting about location of the camp.
Congratulations, what a beautiful find. That’s a beautiful location screaming for a nice camp cabin.
Beautiful property. What we seen. This has got loads of CZcams content and happy memories for the Morgan's.
Awesome purchase Mike and Melissa excited about upcoming videos of the changes you'll be making to the new property, a blank canvas, keep an eye on the neighboring 10 acres would be a great addition, love you guys
What a beautiful piece of land. Can’t wait to see what you have planned for your next project.
This looks much like the property I own. My slice of paradise. May I suggest you keep your living area well away from the road for privacy. And don't make the driveway straight, put some bends in it so the line of sight is broken. Have fun!
Congratulations on your new property. That place is beautiful. I can see a lot of content for the channel being made. Can’t wait to see what you capture on the trail cam. Open up a spot for my camper when I come visit.🤣😂😉Thanks for sharing and looking forward to good things to come.
How have you been Steve?
@@OutdoorsWithTheMorgans Great Thanks. Just retired from driving a school bus for 19 1/2 years. Still wide open in the Taxidermy shop.
Beautiful place
Mike, I do like Camp Morgan! Excited about the rental gear and how you will engineer the driveway! You and Melissa will have so much more to manage. Great videos will be forthcoming!
Enjoyed the walk through the woods nice property
That’s a nice peace of property.
What a nice property! Can't wait to see more. I like where you picked for the driveway and turn around. Looks like neighbor Cliff is going to have a nice sized patio.
Nice beautiful property.
You should build a big pole barn where you can mill wood and store things. Also a place to stay dry in storms.
Mike, I can’t wait to see what you and Melissa do with the property. Just a thought, before you sell your old mill, you should consider moving it to your land, mill out the lumber you want for your cabin, then sell it. Also, being 140 miles to the property, take your mini ex down one weekend, clear your driveway, put in the culvert, take down your skid steer next time. But first, find yourself a small camper so you can stay for a night or two to get set up. You can always sell it after you’re done building. That allows you to stay a few nights to get more done. You’re a busy man and LUV your projects. Keep it up buddy. Well done.
Probably cheaper to rent and a ton more convenient to rent exactly what he needs when he needs it.
I think that is a great idea Harold!
💥 Those trees look nervous!! 😂😂
*Keep on tractoring!*
A few of them should be
@@OutdoorsWithTheMorgans / Lol ! :-)
I think certain unnamed friends of Mike and Melissa that have a tractor should offer to come help them put that driveway in 😉. However, with fuel prices like they are, you’d need a high limit credit card to afford it!
Keep the first saw mill at the new property. Save the fuel and put the trees on site to work. It will be fun to watch the new property get built out complete with hunting blinds/mini homes.
$5.89/reg here in So. Ca.
That's the least expensive. Many stations are over $6.00
I built my gate ,used 6inch well casing for the upright post,4inch pipe for the gate, set the upright post 5 feet deep.Have not had any trespassers yet. When in doubt, build it stout.
Your new property looks Amazing and peaceful! thank you for bringing us along on your trip! You showing Garrett Equipment Rentals brings back tons of memories passing by there on our way to Lowes. If you're back in Oakland and find yourself hungry try 3rd street diner they have really good burgers. Also, Saffitickers icecream or Devlers ice cream!
Well, 1st nice purchase. Seeing how you talk about all the pines, I think your current sawmill will end up in WV. You will have to put in another wood processing area but seeing how flat it is, should not be a problem. Again nice piece of property.
Beautiful piece of land, Mike - Anxious to follow along with the developments - Hubby topped off the Highlander this morning at $7.84 a gal (that's $2.07 a lit) - Thank goodness the Ram is full - We're in central Ontario, Canada - We used to go out runnin' around every day; now we limit it to about twice a week and actually make lists as to what we need for the week... :) Take care, Seph...
It will be fun and exciting to see your progress on Camp Morgan. Thanks for sharing it with us. Cheers.
Beautiful land 👍👏
Thanks for the new property tour. Just beautiful and really great to have multiple road access point available. Lot more ferns than i expected. I have many here in low country SC and was not aware they were so prevalent in WV. Your red and white pine sure beat out my loblolly and slash pine for beauty.
HELLOOOO MIKE, Melissa & the entire MORGAN clan!!!
Good Sunday morning to all my fellow OWTM’s fans/friends/followers!!!
Gorgeous 68 degree morning here in Virginia Beach going up to 77 with a NE breeze off the ocean….Ahhhhhhhhh
Thanks for bringing us along to Camp Morgan in West By GOD Virginia. I’m looking forward to watching work that property too. Why didn’t you buying that 10 acres that adjoin your 40acres? Probably asking to much money for it.
Anyways, catch ya next time
Stay safe

HELLOOOO HUNTER!!!
Good morning Jack.
@@waynebarnett7467 top of the morning to ya Wayne
Thinking 10 or more years down the road ...... You might consider picking a more difficult access point into your property, and ideally it would pass through a wet area. Should marauders elect to access your property it would more than likely be at night. A more challenging access path would make both their access, as well as their exit much more challenging. You and your family would know it like the back of your hand. WV does have an undesirable element that you don't want near your, your family, or your property. No one can make their property bullet proof, but they can make it mighty difficult to access; up to the point that they elect to not attempt to access it. All the best.
Great narration…it’s like I’m walking right along side of you. Fantastic land! I owned 22 acres just east of yours that I sold a few years ago. Not nearly as flat as yours, however. Can’t wait to see you get going on it. -TJ
That is a very nice piece of land yall got .can't wait to see you start tearing into the driveway and on up into where your going to have the parking area and cabin wherever you will build that.
Fun times to come .
Thanks Shawn, mellisa and gang
I think I just figured out what you need to do with the old saw mill...move it to the Wild and Wonderful state to process some really nice pine lumber. Congrats on a really nice purchase of a limited amount of flat land in the mountain state
Mike, I love being in the forest as well! Thank goodness for it too because my last name is Underwood! Congratulations on your new property! I love the development steps that we take like figuring out the driveway location. The challenges and creativity are what life is all about.
Good morning everyone 😊👍🌎🌞

Good luck with the new property 👍
Mike, beautiful property. What really impressed me was the quiet.
Just a tip when walking in the woods in the south step up on a log not over it as rattlers and copperheads love to lay beside them. Please don" ask how I know!! LOL
When looking at the pines in your new Morgan Camp, I get the feeling that they were planted. They seem to be in straight lines. Whatever the case, it's a pretty spot.
The Bigfoot would look awesome on the new property. 😀
Mike, When I purchased my five acres in Winston, GA there was a similar rock pile on the property. Interesting thinking about who cleaned them out of the field and the work involved.
I'm now using some of the rocks for landscape beds etc. -- love the channel and following the all of the Morgans.
When you have time there's a couple little towns, Davis, WV, and Thomas, WV, a 45 minute drive from Terra Alta, WV you should visit. Blackwater Falls State Park is beautiful! For food there's Sirianni's Café which has wonderful food!
Love your new property, great find, well done. Enjoyed the video, thanks Mike, have a good week
Looking forward to seeing the progress on the new property! Let’s go Mountaineers!
Beautiful property
We have good friends who just bought an old cabin on 5 acres out near there that they are converting into a VRBO/ vacation home. Beautiful country. Can't wait to see what you guys do on it and the content you create while doing so. Camp Morgan Rocks!
I say this will be turned into the same....
Mike, we feel your pain. Our farm is 1 hour from our house, and turns a 8 hour workday into a 10 hour day with the drive. Lots of miles on our vehicles and of course, the $$ in gas. We grossly underestimated how much effort it requires to not only work our land ourselves, but to coordinate with contractors to get work done.
Mike, I noticed a lot of old fence post. It's a very beautiful place. It's also very level.Thank you for the tour.
I was waiting to hear you say what I was thinking , then you said it ,Boy is it beautiful !!! Yes Mike it is!! great selection of wood to work with. Easy land to navigate, very good investment.
I see 12 feet of snow in your future! I also see a lot of beautiful wood to saw up. Looks fantastic.
I have the same truck/engine combo. I’ve been averaging 20.7mpg which isn’t bad for a pickup. Really happy for you on getting the new property. Once you get the drive and turnaround in, perhaps you can do a drone shot and red line the property boundaries so we have a sense of what you are doing and where as you move ahead. Happy for you all!
Nice piece of property. Have fun with it's development.
Wow very nice spot for parking beautiful definitely a get very nice piece of property
Beautiful new property. I love all the beautiful trees. I've always wondered how owners of hundreds of acres prevent people from trespassing such as hunters and whatever else people may want to do perhaps even cut firewood that is so tempting. I don't see how owners can keep an eye on every acre. I can only think of no trespassing signs and fencing, but fencing would be very expensive. Although here where I live in northern Illinois, I have seen a property out in the country close to Rockford, IL, that has a 3 rail ranch black fence that runs 3-5 miles along the highway, and then it goes around the perimeter of the flat land. I can only imagine that was an expensive project. The miles of fence look so nice as it surrounds so much property because quite a bit is flat and hilly grassland. Thanks for sharing nature's beauty.
Mike, mark your property with rebar or PVC pipes if possible or something else that won't rot or be eaten by termites. Love the property. Maybe the power company can put you a pole and meter for that future camper. Have a productive day.
Mike thanks for sharing your video with us. That property "CAMP MORGAN" sure makes you appreciate what we have in America. It is ridiculous how much it costs to fill your tank politicians need to start caring more for Americans. Anhauser-Busch hasn't had any stoppage in producing beer but you can't get baby formula??? Hello Hunter. Ed
The cynical would say it is a backdoor way of the Government trying to control the population. No baby food so the babies die of starvation and copious amounts of beer to render most males too pi55ed to do the wicked deed and produce more children.
Can't wait to see some of those pines cut into boards. Interested in seeing how all those limb stickers show up. Could be some beautiful siding.
Beautiful piece of land. Congratulations! 😎
Great video really enjoyed your walk around like being right there with you such a good job with the cam.just beautiful parcel you do have a lot of flat ground for that area congratulations on your purchase and one more time thank you for the update.will be sure to watch more great footage
