I'm fairly new to TIG, but have done lots of aluminium over the years.
I can do a weld like this going downhill with a pulse MIG running 1.2mm (0.045") wire with a slightly finer finish. For my job at the time it was perfect, with TIG being too fiddly and slow for our purposes.
Learning TIG now, it certainly has it's places where it shines. Pulse MIG's are an excellent crossover tool, but TIGs are cool too.

I always learn something new from your channel. I can't get enough of Your tips & tricks on welding aluminum. Hope you don't mind, I'm also watching the joint channel on welding by Pam Anderson and Jamie Lee Curtis. They have a "built in" arm rest for support, and the viewing pleasure far exceeds Yours (no offense). They can't weld for crap ... ... ... but I just don't care.

Wonderful instruction. I love your channel and look forward to every new video. And, I envy you your skills. In this video, the welding machine screen indicates you are using AC Pulse in addition to an asymmetric EN- setting. If I am incorrect, I apologize. If not, what are the pulse settings (PPS, On Time & Back Ground) you used for this weld? Thank you
I'm gna guess 33pps, 25-33%bkround, and 25-40% on time...lol only cuz there was no fluttering. I think he's trying to say that the technique will get u there more than the settings will. That pretty much goes for all tig welding applications. Skill and technique trump settings all day. But thats prolly a safe estimate

I like the channel and all but why did it take so long to do that weld? And if you took so long why is it so inconsistent I'm not that good but it looks like some of my peace rate free hand welds (no pedal)(no slide) just an on off button
