I remember playing this level on a road trip at 7-ish years old. I was sitting in the car, CONSTANTLY going through doors, wondering where tf the proper door was. Now I'm 25 and this level is much more difficult than I remember. I don't remember there being this many obstacles (lava pits, crushers), or the level being THIS big.

I always hated the maze levels. It's not at all what I look for when I play a Mario game.
I have been trying to beat this level for over 30 years… 30 years yes. Thank you so much for this walk-through. You have no idea how much it drove me nuts that I’ve eaten every thing in super Mario brothers three except for that stupid castle . I always had to use a cloud to go over it.
I forgot about Cloud! I'm 39yo. Glad to meet a kindred spirit.
I think this game came out in 89 and it's still one of my favorites

I tried playing through the game without looking anything up. Couldn’t figure this out but luckily I had a cloud. Now I’m watching to see how I was supposed to do it.

I beat this again game today (once again without the whistles), lot of fun!
One who first played the Super Mario All Stars version of this game might expect the bright windows to be in the background of even this level (it would show consistency), but it would've been scarier if they didn't (maybe even too scary to find it easy enough)
Thanks, this is one of the hardest fortress I've seen in Super Mario Advance 4

@@edwin3928ohdman i had been stuck in this level literally for about 3 FUCKING HOURS when i stumbled upon your reply and... that's all i needed to know, i stopped meandering around the gates and went all the way to the end of the place and it was there...what a tricky little shit this level was

Hardest level in the entire game. Luckily you have the option to skip it with a cloud.
Oh my god I forgot I could do that the entire time ;-;
I use the P-Wing on the air ships, and the cloud on 8-1. Then in Bowser's Castle, there's a 1-up you can get every time you die. :P

1:20 dude i found that p switch too and the door that appears next to it that gives u a powerup and i was confused so i hit it again and went thru the door down there and made even more confusion. Why would they make a door appear all the way right? Thanks a lot

When I was a kid this was the level I used the cloud to skip.
Mario 3 is one of my favorite in the series but had some off the most god-awful ass-water pure cancer levels like this

This is probably the hardest fortress in the game if you don't know what you're doing. World 7 silent fortress can be difficult at first too.

I was legit in that spot with the p switch, but thinking I had to go through the door down below and get through some coins before the switch stopped. I probably never would have ran over there to look for a door on the right

my brother in christ this is a stupid fucking level. i cant believe i didnt go one screen further to the right after pressing the grey P button. i was so lost for like an hour before seeing this vid and seeing the other door lmao
Man i used to have to beat world 2 and get the cloud. When i warped to world 8 i would skip pass this castle using the cloud because it was hard to beat.
Who tf gave this for children to resolve should go to jail

THE ONLY WAY I BEAT THIS WAS A GLITCH. I didn’t even mean to do it. I just sorta clipped through a wall to a door then fought boom boom.. this stage is horrific. I clipped through the wall before the spikes to duck under.

once i realized there were doors tho i figured it out myself first try and proceeded to make the biggest fumble on boom boom…
