I ran the AT81EX at the NEPG Black Buffalo National Enduro and it was really rocky and it rained leading up to the race and during the race and that tire hooked up great in the slick rocky conditions.

      Hello:
Agreed, the AT81EX has amazing traction in slick conditions.

Are you using the 285 Nitro Plushie? I tried the recommended 305 and thought it was way too big (ended up cutting and drilling it for a softer feel). My buddy tried the 285 and that seemed about right (like 5ish psi feel). The AT81EX is my favorite tire for rocky Montana single track. I think the JX8/IX-09 are on par for rock grip but don't last as long. I really like the Ibex too, and it is better for softer conditions but will chunk if you spin. Seems like the EX and IRCs have a little more rock grip though.

      Hello:
It's been a while but I think I had the same issue and ended up with a 285.

    AT81EX vs IRC VE33S?

      Hello Alan:
The IRC is not as soft of a compound and therefore does not have as much grip as the Dunlop but last considerably longer. It's a great trail tire.

The IRC is a great all around tire, that performs well in a large variety of conditions.
AT81EX is a go to hard enduro tire, that creates traction in the worst conditions. It also does well in faster terrain with roughly 8PSI or comparable pressures.
I run the IRC on my 350 4 stroke and AT81EX on my 300 2 stroke.

Hey Jeff..what tires do you prefere on the dual sport?im currently running a 606 rear and scorpion on front on my 500.im not sure its so good in anything slick.

The Dunlop 606 is considered a high mileage tire, which means it sacrifices performance for mileage. The Scorpion really doesn't have any redeeming qualities, poor handling and mediocre mileage. I prefer the Bridgestone X31 slavensracing.com/shop/battlecross-x31-soft-to-intermediate-tire-by-bridgestone/ up front and the new Dunlop AT82slavensracing.com/shop/geomax-at82-tires-by-dunlop/ for the rear.

Hey Jeff, will my mousse balls work in the en91? They are the standard 110 style balls

    • @slaverace1

No, you would need their big mousse balls.

How does it do in softer sandy conditions?

      Hello:
Both tires are designed for rocks and roots, not sand.
