5:10 the main reason I can think of as to why someone would remove the rear wheel drive components is mostly stemming from either being cheap or not having the money to fix it. The rear diff probably catastrophically failed and they chose the basically free rout and just removed everything so they could continue using the vehicle as a 2 wheel drive model.

I've only ever seen a 4wd delete like that once before. It's probably because something happened to the diff (possibly flat towing behind an RV) and they couldn't/ didn't want to fix it. So you just delete it. It's important to keep the axle stubs going through the spindle because the pressure of the axle nut is what keeps the wheel bearings together. Without it, the bearings would would be trashed in less than 10 miles. And that jeep at the end just had lifter tick. Change cam, lifters, and pushrods and it'll be a better running engine

Apart from failure they possibly sold the rear parts of the AWD system for a few bucks. Depending on the car the parts maybe rare and/or expensive so they either dumped them because they were broken. More realistic or sold them as a car flipper as the usual buyer won't notice and made some money on top.

Also emisions are tested. Every year! And that in a country where most people do only 10 k kilometers a year.

Relatively yes. However all wheel drive doesn't mean all your wheels are spinning at the same time. The computer distributes power based on where it detects slip. So if your rear wheels are slipping they receive more power. It's honestly a very complex system and can lead to failure if you don't have tires that are the same size and tread depth. You transmission can stop working on an AWD car if you don't have the same tread depth on all 4 tires. As far as fuel economy the difference is probably 1-2 mpg max between an AWD and a 2wd model. The real difference is in how you drive not the platform you drive.

Totally agree, this was. Very difficult to watch and. Eye straining for me me as every video was the wrong aspect ratio besides the intro and outro.
If you do this make the whole video vertical or do many shorts.
      Dislike button pressed 😭

2:40 I don't understand unless the engine PCM is keeping it at limp mode or it has IMRC plates.

ECU is in an open loop status during warmup so no feedback is expected until certain parameters are met like CHT and coolant temp. The fact it runs is probably just a fluke of the right runner length and area being available allowing suction from the intake stroke to let the engine idle.

I'm convinced that "You're gonna kill somebody" is better than "we need to add steering parts to the car (truck)" to have any effect on these drivers.
And legislatures say "we don't need no stinkin' safety inspections" while gumming a hotdog and beer.

Something isn’t right about the 2.7 “running” without the intake. That’s really not possible on a gasoline port injection engine, or at least it wouldn’t start and idle. It would be the same as basically full throttle, since there would be no throttle to limit the airflow. So, it would start and immediately start hammering the rev limiter.

Not unless it was getting the fuel needed to do so.. fuel injected engines operate on throttle position Wich calls for more fuel to be injected or else it won't rev no matter how much air you let it breathe

Well spotted! Vertical videos are indeed blasphemic. God put our two eyes horizontally next to each other. Jesus made all screens and cameras horizontal. The last decade or so, Satan has fooled some of those who use telephones for shooting video into thinking that phones are exempt from the horizontal rule of nature.
But there were several vertical videos, why single that one out?
