When I listened to this song, I suddenly remembered the latest chapter in Kuroshitsuji manga about Ciel's twin brother 😭😭 Why do I get the feeling that our!Ciel will have bittersweet or sorrowful ending???? This music might have been created for that because Yano-sensei wouldn't agree to a Kuroshitsuji Original Anime (not in the manga) to be made right away. and even after so long of not intereacting with black butler since i was like 14, not touching this song since i was 13, and forgetting it existed for a while.. even now at 17 i can still sing this like second nature, and it now makes me want to cry because it reminds me just how old I'm getting and makes me think how in the world i could've ever forgotten about black butler when Sebastian was one of my very first comfort characters and still is.

One hell of a song
I always think this is a convo between Sebastian and Ciel. At the beginning, their relationship was just all about the contract. Eventually, after spending time together and going through dangerous situations; they started to care for each other. Ciel would still like to have his revenge yes but he also likes being alive and spending it with Sebastian, Lizzy and others. He started to feel alive again and enjoy life. Sebastian still wants Ciel's soul since he thinks it is still the most delicious one he'll have but started to really care for Ciel and saves Ciel not just for his soul but because he wants Ciel safe. Sebastian had also started to enjoy the life he has now. Ciel and Sebastian knows that they wouldn't have the life they have now if not for meeting each other. They would protect each other.
I know season 2 is really not manga canon but you can see that Sebastian doesn't like the fact Ciel became a demon. Part of it is because now he can't have Ciel's soul but I like to think it is also because he knows Ciel being a demon means he has to leave his life behind as what has been shown by his fake death.

Why would Alois dislike this song? It was part of his season, and to me it fits him. I know the butterfly in the ED turns into Sebastian's hand once it lands on Ciel, but I like to think it as Alois instead since Alois describes himself as a butterfly. And then all the butterflies that go past in the other direction are the villagers that shunned him and the people who did bad to him and then he lands on Ciel looking for a tiny bit of comfort.
When I listen to this I feel a warmth... I don't know how to describe.. but it feels like home ❤
