Here in India we are kept away from history. Earlier history was of congress and leftist and now we are shifting it towards bjp. Earlier we used to over praise gandhi and nehru. Now we try to blame them.
Both are wrong, history should tell truth and readers should understand that leaders were humans after all they do have greed and can make mistakes.

A very good analytical approach. I had worked with many Pakistani Police and paramilitary personnel at Kosova in UN Mission 2005-06.
I was astonished to learn that they didn't know much about their history. They were taught to believe that there was no history or great empires before the spread of Islam in this region i. e. Undivided India. They were practically ignorant regarding Hadappa &Mohan Jo daro civilisation nor about Taxila University. I told them, see brothers you are the real owner of that heritage as it is now in your territory and be proud on it. We the Indian living 1000-1200 miles from these places still boast of our ancient heritage and progress but you living over it are denying this legacy. It was a shattering experience for me. My Pakistani brothers, we as a whole nation were torch bearers for other civilisations Accept it and be proud.

I was one of those people too who used to say "iss qaum ko danda hi chahiyay"... but as I grew older I realised, what I really meant was, we as a nation (and all nations by the same logic) need rule of law, enforcement of law and a swift delivery of justice. The civilised societies have all 3 of those in spades, and we have none of them pretty much.
I remember during the pandemic, in Australia, 'goras' rampaged supermarkets to grab toilet paper and ration supplies... it was utter chaos. Every human being reverted to their original 'caveman' type as soon as enforcement of law was lifted. The "civilised" society wasn't civil anymore. And when the "danda" came back, everyone fell back in line. We need the same here. One rule for all, elite, poor et al... and swift delivery of justice. (And no I don't mean the 'danda' of Army as I believe they're deserving of a danda themselves.

Bring on some good film makers, and make a graphic timeline from the beginning till now, talking in detail about every little incident, cause n effect of every policy l, basically to show why we are where we are and what should be done to move the goal post back to where it should be.
Think the people of pakistan need a clear, unbiased, un-redacted version of history to better understand their future.

Thanks. I will definitely read this book. What I've observed over time that both the sides - pro Pakistanis and those who are confused - are agreed that our text books do not represent the true history. However, there is a difference between both, pro Pakistanis do the research and through the archives they prove that many myths that are floating around now a day - either contiously or not - are not correct. For example the Lahore resolution: it was Muslim League collective decision in 1941 to celebrate it on 23rd March. Hence, it is not the murder of history. Similarly, celebrating the independence on 14th August was also an agreed decision. Though the original announcement came on 15th but leadership at that time decided to celebrate it on 14th. So if you think with an open mind, it's not the murder of history. The other set of historians mostly refer to books like this and many other books that do not reflect the ideas of Muslim leadership and their vision of Pakistan. Behind these date changes, they question the collective wisdom of Muslim leadership at that time. And then, they mixed up what happened after 1953 with the events before independence, just to prove that the idea of Pakistan was not right. Then they bring the national anthem issue saying it was written by Mr. Jagannath Azad, and many other items to confuse our minds.
It is true that Allama Iqbal didn't use the word Pakistan in his Allahabad speech, but it doesn't mean that his idea of Muslim independence was incorrect. Similarly, behind the 23rd March issue, criticizing the resolution itself is not correct.
To summarize, I request to read the history as the student of history - over and above any prejudice or favor - specially research every event on the timeline with all other factors. Do not get confused with the events after the independence, especially the mind conditioning through military regimes.
    Thank you ❤️
PS: I like the work of Mr. Khurram Ali Shafiq. You may consider his extensive research on Pakistan and the history of the subcontinent. It will add another perspective whether you agree with him or not.

Ignorance is both sides of the border. Politics of both countries feed us lies everyday to keep us blissful and ignorant. I would highly recommend this book to anyone interested in Subcontinent history.

@@kanishkkumar5431 Time for you guys to wake up and smell the coffee. The Indian govt. lies to its ppl as much as any other govt in the world. You can hate Pak and muslims as much as you want but it wouldn't change the fact that India has one of the biggest economical divides between the rich and poor. Our governments want us to keep fighting one another while the rich fill their pockets with tax payers' money
