  • With growing public distrust of Pakistan's military, the country is on the verge of a governability crisis, according to an article co-authored by Oxford University Associate Professor Dr. Adeel Malik. TCM spoke with Dr. Adeel to understand the rise and fall of military influence on Pakistan's public and politics.
TCM’s journey since 2017 has been about telling stories that people want to hear, which mainstream media has been neglecting for decades. We want to disrupt the status quo by delivering engaging content that empowers impassioned voices and impacts social change. We are defined by integrity, grit, and ingenuity, and this is what drives us.

Injustice is a natural out growth of the betrayal of Islam by both the civilian and military elites from Pakistan's very outset. This is not a new "development". The logical outcome is a lack of true Islam and gradually also a lack of welfare and decline of living standards. The elites have already killed the possibility of Islamic accountability over them by even contaminating the image of Islam with violence, justified and unjustified ! 😅

They could have brought anyone on the political scene but bringing again those corrupt families in play placed them in similar category.

One of the main points that many overlook, which he beautifully explained in the video, is the reason why, unlike other countries, our Army Chiefs do not face challenges in the form of internal military politics. We often hear fabricated stories of "internal coups" or "Khamosh Mujahideen" from individuals like Maj. Adil Raja and Imran Riaz Khan, who are clearly being used by these "Khamosh Mujahideen" to spread false hopes of good Generals and Soldiers among civilians. Despite these tales, we see no real action because from lowest to highest ranking officer "In sub k haat ghee mai hain": refer to the video starting at 5:00 for more details on this

Some of the Pakistani Generals are already working for CIA and Mossad and are on the payroll of these Agencies for a long time. This is no secret and should not be taken as surprising revelation. Any operation to harm Israel would already be compromised beforehand as these elements have a hotline to CIA/Mossad and would inform of any planning of an operation. Israel has already infiltrated GHQ and planted moles inside the military, and it already knows Pakistan's capabilities regarding any potential operation; and Israel does not sit back and file complaints, but takes immediate retaliatory action. The GHQ does not have the expertise nor the resources to carry out any major offensive against Israel or even India next door.

At 9:21, definitely agree with his statement that "Military should never be given control of the economy".
History has always shown that doing such things have allowed military to directly interfere in govt. and state. During the Roman Empire times, emperors such as Nero and the successors increased over all service life of the Pretorian Guard (elite Roman military personnel who acted as emperors bodyguards and intelligence assets). Their pay was also increased which was more than that of the pay of a Roman legionnaire (foot soldiers and officers of the Roman army). At first they were also involved with corrupt emperors in conspiracies to remove their rivals and then often times they assassinated an emperor that they didn't like and installed their own. Eventually emperors became subservient to them and they became the primary force of gaining power in Roman Empire, until the emperor Septimus Severus dismantled the Pretorian Guard.

Today the officers come mostly from the poorest of the poor rural families with minimal education and what to talk of it's standard.
Intellectually the officers are not even second class. The element of corruption has badly affected the discipline of the force and commercial enterprises have created a distraction from the main task of security. Further more the serving officers are allowed to do real estate business and Corps Commander is in charge of DHA.
