The most unbelievable thing in this movie was how Clifton still never learned how to play Spades. I was like, “Damn, dude. Four years of prison wasted.” 😂 I died when Clifton straightened out the gun while Nnamdi was shooting. This was great.
Wait, this creates a paradox. Clifton hired the twins. Why would he help Namdi kill them with better gun accuracy (even though it didn't work)?
People forget Brandy made it to the end in I Still Know What You Did Last Summer, and LL Cool J in Deep Blue Sea.
And Taye Diggs in "House on Haunted Hill" and Rah Digga in "Thirteen Ghosts"
H20, Mind Hunters, Supernova... LL Cool J must have a clause in his contract.
@@jacobstaten2366 😂
Actually there’s Reggie who survived Friday the 13th part 5 (1985) but there goes my horror movie nerd alarm going off.
Right!
"I like all the Shafts" 😂
Had me crying 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Yes he does. LMAO!!! Nick your laugh after saying liking all the Shafts was endearing.
😂 me too🤪
Badum *tsk! 🥁
OWN IT 😁😁😁😁
I love the slogan “We all can’t die first” 😅😅
Not the zooming in on Kevin Hart when Nick says “Charlie Day”😂
😂
Came straight to the comments to see who else caught that part! 😂😂😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Somebody beat me to it
that part 🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️
Nothing is better than watching you two discuss a movie that you both found enjoyable. ☺️
A rare treat ❤😊
Don't forget Busta rhymes survived in Halloween and also ll cool j in Halloween and ice cube survived in anaconda 😊
DID LL survive that crazy ass bionic shark too or nah? I cannot recall......
@@tigerlilly9038sure did. I believe he has a clause in his contract that he can’t die in movies 😂
The last fun theater crowd I experienced was Get Out. A lot of comments and laughs throughout. That last scene’s end, the audience went from defeated & bummed to jumping out of their seats.
N: "Well, I like all the Shafts (but I)..."
J: "Yes, he does (go ahead)..."
THE COMMENTARY ON THIS CHANNEL! 💯❤🔥
I really enjoyed this movie. So many funny moments & unapologetically Black! Everyone did a great job and it was shot well. I plan to see it again with a few friends.
LL Cool J's character survived to the end in Deep Blue Sea.
I love how one of you knows all the technical details and references and the other is pure reactionary shady commentary ❤😂
When he said 'all lives matter' I lost it 😭
I love the way you talk about individual actors and characters and the funny bits. This movie was crazy funny!
Joseph YES!!! 😂😂😂OMG. Shaneequa ass sure did look like Pennywise in silhouette coming up out of that damn lake!!! 😂😂😂
The telepathy scene was a funny nod to Black ppl looks… we will squint at eachother and you’ll know exactly what the other needs
That look on Joseph’s face in the thumbnail 😂
The resignation in Joseph's voice when he said "yes, he does" hahaha
I went to this movie cold, just because it was the only thing showing when I could go, I ended up being the only person in the theater - and yet I laughed out loud. This movie was so funny and so unapologetically black :)
Tay Diggs survived in house on haunted hill, Jada Pinkett demon knight she survived had they said that instead of scream 2 they would of been ok lol
I saw this movie at a pre screening and it was good. Deff a movie that’s fun to see in theaters because the crowd was laughing a lot. 😅
I was so happy you reviewed this…and I watched just long enough to see if you both liked it. Since you did, I’m going to pause and watch the rest of the review after I see this movie because it looks hilarious. When you both hate a movie I figure I can skip it and just know what it’s about from you. Excited to see this now!
its not good and just racist to white people throughout
like every "white bad" joke isn't a joke they GENUINELY feel that way about it, there's no punchline there, and the movie is just that for over an hour, its just a slog honestly
I literally just did the same. Started their review. 4 mins in Joseph sold me and I’m like let me go watch this it sounds funny. I’m back now after finishing, it was so good😂I’m not a horror girl so was relieved at all the funny moments, still got a few jump scares though 😂
When they called Lisa Mr. Mustard from Clue 😂😂😂😂
Can’t wait to see this…saw a clip the other day and was sold. Also, Angela Bassett was in Critters 4 and survived until the end.
Really? That was a paycheck choice. She must have needed a new deck or something
I loved this movie. Had me laughing the whole movie. The only really horror moments I got was the jump scares. The arrows scared the shit out of me 😂
THIS is the additional information a brotha needs to KNOW! Horror movie watching veterans be like "It wasn't scary at all" and the same movie be having me getting my heart palpitated on by ENTs in the aisle. 😂
@@AlansNewMutant haha I guess I should have prefaced with the fact that I love scary movies. With this being a horror/comedy, the horror parts made me laugh because of the reactions. You’ll love it. If you watched Scary Movie, you’ll be fine.
@@JarvariusClemons I didn't watch Scary Movie, lol. I'm a big chicken. R more accurately, I hate the adrenaline surge from jumpscares. I understand people love that surge and want to experience it time and again, but it only makes me furious.😂😂🤣🤣
Kaluuya survives Get Out.
clifton did it all because they didn’t teach him how to play spades 😂
Everyone loves the shafts!! 😂💗
I think Ken Forey's character in Romero's Dawn of the Dead is an OG Black horror movie survivor.
Two snaps, in a circle. This reminds me of in living color skit. 👍
Thanks guys, if I hadn't come across your review, I'd have missed out on a great movie.
Ll Cool J made it to the end Halloween H20 and Deep Blue Sea. As a matter of fact, I don't believe he's ever died in a movie.
He died in Rollerball. Pretty bad movie.
@@theboost2524 thanks! My friends and I have been joking that LL must have it in his contract that he can't die because none of us could think of something he dies in. Now I know. 🙂
Busta rhymes survived Halloween: 20 years? He played dead after fighting Michael
To me he dies in every movie. His acting is “wooden” like a 2 by 4 piece of deadwood
"I like all the Shafts" 💀
As far as your third act commentary- the inside joke is that Black people, we take spades seriously… it’s like Clifton took it back to the. “The not invited to the cookout” seriously.
Shout out to the 2018 short film by 3Peat that was the basis for the film (and some of the funniest lines are in the short).
U're right about that drink tha King made, funny as shyte 😂.
Who doesn't like Shafts?
I might be childish but the Shaft joke got me
The movie is a total guilty pleasure for me. the survivors' ending lines are a scream( no pun intended). I did know the villain the second they showed up but that didn't spoil it. it's a hoot...major fun watch for this Brotha!
It reminded me of the Cabin in the Woods mostly. I liked that movie. I liked this one too. Very funny.
I dig watching you guys. I love how Nick always knows what Joseph has seen~ Joseph to Nick: "What else have I seen him in?" or "What other movies did we see from this director?" And then Nick with the "I love all the Shaft's..." LMAO!
Thank you, gents, for this review!! As always... I couldn't wait to watch your review!! I saw it today and was pleasantly surprised, I was howling out loud at so many scenes! The characterization was excellent, and they were all memorable! Negros At Applebee's Cooking Pasta!! 💀
Thanks for the review. Looking forward to the movie
The movie reviews are great, but I just love watching you guys together. ❤
“I like all the Shafts”😉😂😎🌈
Fun movie! I've watched it twice so far. As a brotha, I felt like I was in it with them. I love how they cover at the end, how to call for police. That was a sad reality only reserved for our people but you got to laugh to keep from crying.
The same feeling when the blue lights show up at the end of GET OUT..relief and fear at the same time
Oh shyt! A positive review! I’m definitely in for this one! Thanks for sharing!! Loved the commentary
19:17 Jump to listen to final rating without spoilers
I saw this one last night at an early screening. I really loved the trailer. Thanks for posting, FJF🏹
I need a nice refreshing film.
I wanna see this today.
The only black character in Night of the Demons the original !
Thanks! Highly recommended!!!🎉😂😂
Tim Story worked on the short lived Queens show with Brandy from 2021/2022.
nick loves the shafts
I’ve been looking forward to this review! Great video guys 🙌🏽
Not Leah and Lee Daniels! LOL
More than likely I will embarrass you guys and embarrass myself for saying this. However it must be said. Watching your videos and observing the dynamic between you guys I've always thought that if you guys were a hetero couple you should be making hundreds of babies. LMFAO!!! Both of you are cute when one gets annoyed with the other. Yet anyone obviously notices the bond and love you guys share and it is beautiful.
Thanks for this movie review guys! 👏
Never forget LL Cool J made it out of Halloween H20 !😂
Thank you for reviewing this movie, you guys are awesome and I'm subbing
Hopefully it’s going to be funny been waiting a while for a comedy not a big fan of superhero movies and transformer type movies the last couple of months there hasn’t been any really good playing
This movie also had a little bit of Jumanji in there
I suspected early on that the nerd was the one in on this
This movie was a comedy central skit/short. It's on CZcams with the same title.
Django & Django Netflix doc on spaghetti westerns was good, easy watch would love a review.
You guys are great
*looks back*.
"All lives matter" 💀
Brandy in I know what you did last summer
It was such a ridiculous movie but that’s what made it such a good watch
Fine ass Nick and Joseph!!! For the win🎉🎉🎉
Taye Diggs in House on Haunted Hill 1999 he plays Eddie and he lives as does Ali Larter
Great review. thank you both.
House on Haunted Hill the black dude survived as well right? It's waaay back but I remember fully expecting him to bite it and then coming out surprised
Great review. As for Clifton's motivation, it's actually one of the many inside jokes in the Black community that are shown in the film. The joke is that Black people are very serious about Spades and reneging is one of the cardinal sins in the Black community. If you've been to Black cookouts and events where people were playing Spades, then you're going to get a kick out of Clifton doing all of this over a Spades game. I
Jade pickket made it to the end on Demon night!!
Man my you said spoiler alert 😂 new fan here
They also made a nod to get out because Chris made it to the end of the movie and one of the characters referenced the sunken place.
I had a great time with this movie and a pack theater. It was fun
L.L Kool J in Deep Blue Sea😎
ThanksMuch!
I think my favorite was de Wayne as well. That was my gf favorite too. I also liked king
I can't wait to see this!!
Off the top of my head, black characters that make it to the end:
Keith David in the thing
The kid from f13 part v a new beginning
Ll cool j in deep blue sea and h20
Brandy in I still know what u did last summer
…. Not a whole lot more 😂
Just seen this movie last night and loved it. My favourite character was Dewayne as well and I always love when Diedrich Bader shows up in anything. I could have sworn he played the two hillbilly killers as well, but he did not. I didn’t get a good look at them😂
If I can remember correctly the character Maggie or vaggie her name was in the 13 ghost survived in the end even though the whole house exploded 0-0 but she survived:)
It’s good but… it’s not scary movie good. That’s what I walked away with the ending of the movie
He destroyed shaft
Have we forgotten about Brandy in I still know what you did…. #justice4brandy
We did 🤦🏽♂️
*Bonus trivia answer*
Rah Digga survived in 13 Ghosts
The movie references a lot of black movies: Why Did I Get Married, Marlon Wayans in Scary Movie
This sounds hilarious 😂
Great review but you told the killer was glad I saw the movie first u told spoilers
Damn. That’s a great memory recalling the plot points to this movie.
Nick being dragged in under a minute is a new record!
………. The plot seems a bit repetitive…..
The background image!
Yeah, I don’t really want to look at that for a whole video.
Wait he did the 2 fantastic Four movies wow. Why he’s not very popular director?
Don't think those films were popular. 🤷♀️
because those movies sucked
Jajaja, that a laugh on Spanish. 😊
Love you go👏👏👏👏💯💯💖💖
Ok but all the best lines are in the trailer.
I laughed a few times lol....scary movie for the millennials😑
This comedy was bland and corny at best, production quality also takes you out of the movie all the time, especially the sound work.
Sorrrrryyyyyy.
