lol. True. I left a job to a 80% on my next job. Started a business the following year, doubled my income and my income has increased atleast 50% every year as a business owner since I quit employment in 2017. I quit my job right when Covid started tearing through the world and things were shutting down. I moved from a big food service company to the agricultural industry. I stayed in finance and since my switch in March of 2020 my pay has almost doubled without a degree. That held me back at my last job although they knew I could do the work they never gave it to me but my new company saw my potential and have on numerous occasions have talked about my no degree and how I completely understand how to do the job. My first week I was reconciling all kinds of accounts and honestly I couldn’t be happier with my switch. My pay now would’ve taken me years to reach at my old employer and I would’ve met the max pay now I have no max pay and working on my degree in finance.

Well done! A lot of employers are short-sighted in that sense. They focus so much on salary, which is understandable given that they lose most of their money on salaries, but at the same time they don't stop to think that it's more difficult to find a really good employee and they're now missing out, and also losing out having to work someone else in on your previous position. Give the employee what they deserve, and you'll keep a really got one. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Either way, it's great that you chose yourself in this.

You are so down to earth. Thank god for you Patricia. I wanted to contribute with the fact that changing your job in different or the same field can be a super boost in salary. Also If you seem to be heading back after trying something new out you might find yourself with little less salary but an negotiation about time or paid vacation that you didn’t seem to get earlier could now be offered to you. If you have the balls to ask for it ofcourse😉 I talked with the Union and they told me what salary to settle with and it turns out to be top dollar. What an upgrade❤️

During the pandemic I started at 66k at a job I didn’t like. I jumped jobs 4 times and now I’m at 140k. Quit the job and get what you want.
