How This TV Producer Spends Her $95K Salary | Honest Accounts | Glamour - Zábava
I love this "What's in her bank account?" as a new version of "What's in her bag?"
Let's make it a thing on youtube hahaa !!
Yes! We need more of this!
I'd watch that!
Sarah S Soo true. Something honestly useful.
$300 worth of weed
Just want to point out that she paid under 500 for her wedding dress! Meanwhile couples who earn less combined will be taking out loans for for a one day event.
Just the veil tho.
The poor have a trend of trying to look richer than they are.
ie. Expensive car, small shack of a house
iBeFloe That is so true!
I thought cshe said a dress she bought to attend a wedding. She's not married.
drinabooboo she said MY wedding dress in the video
If I had my own place, covered utilities, insurance, and other bills, and STILL have $2,000+ left over? I’d be the happiest person in the world.
Everenferno i know right
In NYC or SF bay area? I doubt it.
I actually have all those things, and im not happy sometimes. Im probably older than you... thanks I needed to ready this
I found a one bedroom apartment for $1300 with heating water electricity in the downtown of my city.
I'd be happy to finally afford therapy! :/
i love that she mentioned how much she spends on weed lol
DonYelle and Diana ...I bet it's higher then $300 per month .
Alexis Knows thats already 30 grams per month which is a gram a day if its the good stuff but if not then double those numbers. I doubt its more
@Alexis Knows, I originally thought my number was less than that until I did the math and its 620.
@Tyler Cotter who smokes just 1 gram a day, 13yo? She most likely gonna half with her fiancee
Tyler Cotter idk where you live but where i live $300 will probably get you about 70 or maybe 100 grams
Does the fact that I want to see more of these types of videos make me a nosy person?!?!
Mila2858 Well I'm your nosey sister because I do too, lol
No way! Money is a very taboo and confusing topic, especially in the US. We've sort of collectively decided it's inappropriate to discuss, but that leaves a lot of people with a lot of questions and little sense of what is a good way to handle finances. I think it's totally natural to want to know more about how other people handle finances!
Mila2858 it does not make you a nosy person! I am always curious how much people make and how they spend it. Lol
if you are nosey, then call me Wendy Willams. I love to know random stuff about people. Thats why I love the Vogue 73 questions, Refinery 29's Sweet gigs (which is a house tour), etc. They are strangers, but it is so interesting to see life through someone else's eyes.
Mila2858 me too.
Her savings are making me rethink life!
Marti D I think she means rethink life financial decisions* with her own savings account proportioned to her income. I feel the same way 😂. I literally JUST started putting money into a savings account the other day.
DiscoFalcon well it didn’t say exactly how long she’s been in her career, unless I missed it, and given that most people have less than $1000 saved at all based on a google search...she’s doing better than most.
DiscoFalcon and I definitely agree with living beyond their means for appearances but she is saving something. Most people aren’t saving anything and just live check to check spending just cause it’s there. It’s the principle behind having a budget and something to show for it is what I mainly got out of this video. People are in shock and awe because it seems like a lot, but with an almost $100k salary, she should technically have like $20k saved per year. And she has almost $150k. Either she has been doing it a while or had savings prior to her job as a producer.
Dang I had that in my savings at 17 years old lol but to be fair I didn't do much with my money at the time
well do you make 95k a year lol. You can't say I will need to achieve the same thing if you only make a fraction of what she makes.
*Meanwhile I have 37 cents in my pocket and $2.41 in my savings*
Steven Lee Oh yes the big city of Seuil.
Steven Lee Seoul
then how do u pay your phone and internet? u stole it?! or rob ppl
30 dollars in my coin Bank haha and -49 cents in my account
Zach Choi ASMR doubt it
She remembers everything. When I'm reading my bill it's like what? Where? How? Why?
Right?! I’d be like who used my card! Someone hacked my card and spent $300 at Sephora! Oh wait...nvm.
I'm like that with delivery
Make this a regular series! Can't get enough. Sooo useful / helpful right now!
Yes! With different jobs it'll help people like me who keep wondering if major is good lol.
to whom?
BTassie Agreed
Please do !!!
Check out the Refinery29 Website. They have a lot of these kind of posts. It's called Money diary
I would have a good relationship with money too if I was making $95K
I actually think she could be doing a lot better...she's only saving (at most..
She said it's a "goal") 10% of her monthly net income. 2200 a month after bills for food/going out/fun stuff is insane, in my opinion.
I don't disagree! When I saw her spending breakdown I was like how can one person spend this much in a month?! And she did spend more than she earned by about $500. I was just trying to make a snarky comment based on her comment about having a positive relationship with money lol.
$95k is nothing these days. Especially since she lives in NY.
I don't necissarily disagree, but I also live in NYC and make $55K. So.
+Erin McKelle same !
People are telling her what to do with her money, meanwhile she has over 100k in savings and can afford to blow 5k a month. She is doing fine. Worry about your own finances.
100K in saving is not a lot for someone who is over 40, especially because she doesn't have any real estate property like house. the reality is, she wouldnt be able to retire on that saving.
Constance Kang and what can you do? Lol how much you got saved?
Constance Kang she said at the end of this video that she wasn't planning on retiring
People like her are spending our finances. She is a consumer. What essential to the human condition does she actually produce?
Yeah, I was surprised too. She also has an IRA, stocks, and a Roth IRA which people did not count as having the potential to increase further. Most would just leave it in a savings account without investing it.
As a 16 year old I really appreciate this video because it gives me an idea of how I should manage my money. Beside that this video also tells me how adults use their money which I wanted to know for a really long time, but I couldnt because everyone is so secretive about their money.
What do you mean by invensting ?
Ninuxy what i meant is : if you are in you 20 s how are you going to invest with no capital
Sirajdine Cherif you don’t have to have a large sum to invest. You can start small, when I had my job I put like $100 a month into an IRA. I’m only 21, but you have to start somewhere. Take like 15-20% of whatever you make and put that towards retirement 🤷🏻♂️ more if you’re expecting old age to cost more. Which by the time we retire health care is going to be ridiculous.
Same
everytime's the first time I own my own drilling company and one tip I have for you is that NEVER get a job with a large well known company, you are always better going with a smaller company as you are usually treated better and respected more. Also you get a lot more money and benefits
I am ready to Freaky Friday with this woman
misha 😂😂😂😂
Lmao
😭😭😭😂
Lol 😂
misha lmao
Is this a series?...If not, it should be🙂
I was so confused at the beginning of this video. Thought something was wrong with this page because her head was cut off. Kept trying to scroll up, then I realized it was filmed that way. Okay, think it's time for bed. It's getting late lol. But after watching this vid :)
Holy jesy, it's youuuu
oooh hi Mina!!
sweetandtastyTV 😂😂😂
sweetandtastyTV 😂😂😂hope you slept well!
awwwwww
I was dead when she said she spends 300 on weed
I thought you were dead when some niggas shot you?
Ash Khanal bruhhhhhhhh
$10 a day relaxation or medical glaucoma prevention
I spent $2000-$3000 cad on cocaine each month but I met my fiancée and she changed me life
tucker12435 wtf 😂
I honestly can't imagine having that much money to spend every month...
E. Catherine right? I’m on $1,000 if I’m lucky.
totally, good for her and all, but still, totally
I just spent 2k on bills this month and it’s only May 2nd 😭😭
I make about 18k a year. This lady is rich in my book
I have 700€ a month for me and my son. Housing ist free because my Boyfriend owns our House and he covers most groceries. I pay for all things things baby related. Woman ist rich!!
She’s 40... if you’re a 20-something watching this, you CAN make this happen! Examples of “successful” people’s finances is what we NEED as a generation. Well done !
J Bautista yes! I just told myself the other night that I need to sit down and learn to budget for myself (and stick to it). She just gave me so much inspo!
Ari Elle It has NOTHING to do with budget. That poor person mentality of budgeting equals wealth needs to stop now.
J Bautista AMEN! We need this! And we need that type of encouragement!
MrDavidKen77 it’s a combination of budgeting AND investments. We need to master both.
and also be vigilant about how much tax breaks the government is giving wealthy people
Comparing this woman's budget to the other woman making 45k, they're spending is similar. This woman just makes more money. I hope they continue this series. Its quite compelling and helpful.
I usually get annoyed watching these because most people suck with money. But this woman is very financially reaponsible so it was a pleasant watch
Would be cool to see more videos like but with different salaries because let's be real, $95k is definitely on the higher end. Maybe someone who make $50k or $30k? Checking out different life scenarios would be cool/helpful.
Agreed!!
Agreed!
95k is nothing
Elio True, 95k may not actually be that much. Especially if you live in a place like New York or San Francisco. The national average for the US in general is closer to 52k though.
20k or 14k would be realistic given that full time jobs are going extinct the struggle is real let alone finding a second job when they just offer 4 hours a week but want full availability. .. 😟 94k would fix all my problems 😂😂😂
Can we get someone on here talking about their expenses and how they manage their money on the following salaries: 25K a year, 40K a year, 50K a year, and 75K a year? 95K is pretty high up on the income scale for the national average in the US.
I agree! but Lowkey, I'd also like to see someone at 120k and 150k. And also all ofthe above incomes at different ages. Maybe people with kids and without.
Why does it matter? Worry about your own income vs watching CZcams to see how people who make more than you spend it.
she lives in NYC though where the cost of living is insanely high, so it's really not as much as it may seem
My husband and I make under $40k and are doing totally fine!
MrDavidKen77 why are you even watching this video if you keep commenting like that. Most people are watching this video so they can learn how to budget better so they can be successful. Why does you opinion matter why don't you mind your business.
For all of the disheartened people seeing this woman's savings, just keep in mind:
She is 40 and clearly has no children, since she says she has a fiancé. And based on her purchases, she spends nothing on children. So definitely don't get immediately worked up comparing your own savings to hers, but certainly try to achieve something better than what you already have. If you're in college, just don't choose a stupid major and you'll be alright!
She is also planning on having children by what she says and personally, if I made 95k a year I'd have already started saving for them as well. Like a long time ago. For their growth and whatever else they'd need to get a diverse education. Whatever school you plan on sending them to should have already been saved for for about half their education already.
Andrew Fox Women over 35 should not have children, it’s like being born in a rotten egg.
She did say she was having fertility issues and one of the payments was closing the debt of several thousands of pounds she had paid in fees for tests.
Where did you see the age I was looking for it the moment I saw she makes 95k
Great reminder
she definitely is NOT frugal at all LOL
Why am I watching this?
My rent is half my paycheck
I want that type of relationship with money! I’m going through some hard times right now due to my health, luckily I have family but definitely working on getting my mental and physical health back into a place when I can go back to working (I actually really miss it), and saving up. Living without income like I was used to I learned that you don’t need stupid stuff like wasting a big chunk of my check at Sephora or Starbucks. I hope these things stick with me.
Wow. I can relate so much. I'm in almost the exact same position. Focusing on rebuilding myself is refreshing and terrifying in the way that big changes can be, but I'm slowly getting more and more impatient to get back out there on my own instead of having my family help me (although that's terrifying in its own way lol). Hang in there! We can do it!
Kendra Bantz thanks, you can do it too!
Me too I haven’t worked in a year and a bit except for some dog sitting &worked with my dad for two weeks last summer landscaping I’ve had anxiety depression and physical health issues but I’m ready to get some confidence back
PaigeC yes! It’ll be good to get yourself back!
Liz stop with the mental health and physical health. Look at Africans Indians and chinese. If they cared about their well being they'd be like you. Unstable and thinks the world owes her. You have one life, if you're happy with wasting it, it's your choice!
Let’s appreciate the two women so far who are willing to go on the record about their salaries and their monthly budgets. I know if Glamour asked me to do this, I don’t think I would. These videos are very enlightening, and help us understand how hard personal finance really is.
$75 on car insurance.. lol I'm being finessed, they got me paying 260
@Devondrick: Could be wrong, but I think women pay less.
Devondrick Bruh I pay 60
What kind of car and what is ur driving history
How old your car is and how many owners it has previously makes a difference.
How old are you and where do you stay? That matters
This definitely needs to be a series
Danielle Elaine read Refinery29 money diaries
Fiance only pays $800 a month on $2300 per month rent bill, she pays his phone bill, all household bills, and for their outings. Good grief. Does she have medical insurance?
good video!
LOL just saw your video, and went to see this one just for the comments. I end up seeing yours :D
Good indeed!
You had me at weed. You had me at weed.
Teddy P. Gray lmaoooo
Teddy P. Gray lmao same
Thank you for making videos like this. It is so important for people to talk openly about money.
This is so good. Makes me realise.. What have I been doing with my life??
MadameWolf not smoking weed?
I would love to see more of these. I’m a college student and this would really help me get a better view of what people make. How that effects how they live. How they save their money. Good stuff.
she could be saving a lot more but she doesn’t sound stressed out about life so hey keep on keeping on!
Her fiance got a jackpot, she pays majority of the rent and even bought a her own cheap wedding dress. 2018... The modern love story lol💜
Do women not buy their own wedding dress unless a parent offers?
technically that money was only for her veil so id say that its a decent price for a Veil
but theyre occupying the same space so rent should be evenly divided
dragonnelite The argument generally is that if you are dating someone with a much higher salary then their standard of living is often higher too. By living together it is likely that a compromise by one person for the living standard will occur. It then comes the question that is it fair to have the lower earner paying half for something that comes at a higher price for them. It means that they’ll have to put a bigger % of their income towards living costs, have less disposable income, less savings and will struggle to keep up with any other spendings their partner may like (eating out, holidays, etc.).
Obviously if you’ve only been dating a few months split it in half. But if you’re 10 years into a relationship a split via income may ease pressure off the lower income earner.
O thought that women were supposed to buy their wedding dress
this is great. would be interesting in watching more, potentially for a lower income.
PLEASE MAKE THIS A SERIES i LOVED this! it's soooo useful because i feel so motivated right now and WOW good for you girl should be so proud of yourself!
This video is great! I love how candid she was. I'm impressed by Glamour bring the money conversation to young women.
she spends more money on like fun stuff and misc than i make. a year.
My sister is 35 and makes 200k........seeing this video just made me realize that my sister is HELLA rich
Mengmeng Di what does your sister do? 😮😩
Mengmeng Di whoa!
Mengmeng Di What is the profession, a doctor perhaps !
Ayush Aryal ooh a doctor would be honorable! But no, she is just a accountant for a big mining corporation. She is hella smart, probably could have been a doctor if she would have wanted too
Now 200k is a comfortable salary. It saddens me to see so many people think 95k is a lot of money. The truth is we’re all just dealing with pennies compared to the wealthy. But you’ve just gotta build the most out of what you have until you can leverage it to start actually wealth building.
I love this! The more we openly talk about money, the better we will all become with money! More of these videos please, Glamour Magazine! Thank you for sharing your saving and spending life anonymous lady!
I LOVE Namaste bookshop! This was such an interesting video. I hope this is a full series!
I have been wanting to see something like this for a long time!! I wish there were more series like this
Do more of these!
do more of these videos! this was so informative and made me realize i need to do better with my finances, facing things head on instead of being scared to look at them .
CAN YOU DO THIS ON A MILLIONAIRE NEXT!!!!!
Miss Opinionated that would be fun to watch! They’re probably business owners and going through their expenses would be like a 1 h video. They could also be super busy and not have the time or energy talk about their money 😂
Don’t think our jealousy would be able to handle it though
ant wto you mean envy
@@Matrix_Array wtf who would spend $83k a month you're crazy
$75 car insurance in New York??? What is she driving? A scooter?
thatlovegirl12 Bicycle may b
I know. My car insurance was $600, and I had to sell the car. That's why people HAVE to take subway and supplement with occational uber.
nope. if she actually owns a car, she'd have gas as one of her expense. therefore, it's not car insurance, it's something else.
People rarely drive places in New York City, it’s walking and taxi mostly so maybe that’s why
thatlovegirl12 for real! I need her insurance price!
Definitely one of Glamour's best content ideas in a while. I'd love to see more!
This is awesome! Are there more of these videos? I'm a guy, have zero interest in Glamour, but videos like these are super informative and really help put my priorities and goals into perspective. I would love to see how others spend their money. Maybe people in lower income brackets, and someone who makes like millions.
I love every single thing about this video concept. Please keep them coming!
SUPER SUPER USEFUL please do more of these!! Let's stop money being a taboo to talk about!
imagine being this bored with your money
Would love to see more videos like this! Very empowering, insightful and helped me to see how I can improve my relationship with money.
Glamour, thank you so much! Sharing this on my Facebook and Twitter.
Please do more videos like this!!!! Very interesting to watch
this woman is so put together. respect
Eye opening. I appreciate this woman taking the time to open up her financials to strangers.
Great video. I appreciate this kind of information which I consider so valuable. Everyone should have a budget!
this is actually useful!
I love stuff like this awesome
I love this video! It’s refreshing to hear how others spend money.
I don’t think people realize just how helpful videos like these really are. It gives so much insight.
Love it! Good as always!❤️🙈
This was so great!!!
This is amazing. Thank you for doing this!!
This is inspiring! I want to earn this kind of money!!
Girl, what are you paying Tumblr for?
maybe she’s one of those people that buy themes . 😖😖😖
Maybe she put an ad up?
Pretty sure she's talking about tumblers, not tumblr lol
No student loans lucky her!!
she's 40
She said she was debt-free, so she could've paid them off already.
claud yup she probably did! That’s why I said lucky her 😊. Most people I know pay them over 20-30 years
sirpsychosexy a lot of people do a 30 year payoff plan for student loans. It’s not that easy paying bills, rent and loans on top of it.
I don’t understand how it’s lucky? She decided to pay back what she owed?
I don’t see the luck element anywhere or am I missing something?
I loved it. So interesting and helpful. Please do more!!
Amaranthine helpful how?
“...I smoke weed...” I wasn’t ready 😭😂👍🏽 I love her budget. Looking forward to watching the other reviews.
This is so interesting, love it. I do imagine living in NYC would cost a lot. Rent is crazy!
Please do more of these!!
Bailey Freeman 🙌
I love this! People are usually very secretive about their bank accounts so it's cool to have such an insider look at how people actually spend their money! Plus, great money saving tips
Please keep making content like this! This was so insightful. It would be interesting to compare to someone more entry/junior level to see how they manage a smaller salary monthly.
I would love to see more of these with different incomes!
,,,,,, how did she spend 81 on a Mexican restaurant even if it was for two people im so shook?????
Alejandra Rodrígues those margaritas tho
Margaritas
drinks and tipping
Nyc prices, it must have been a “nicer” place. You don’t need to spend a lot for good mexican food in nyc, Queens has good stuff, the Bronx too and some part of Brooklyn
Alejandra Rodrígues it’s NYC girl!!!!!
I think this type of video is awesome and you should make many more of them for different personal finance styles and individuals. The more we talk openly about money, the more comfortable we will become using or not using it. I would love a more in depth look at how she set up and manages her savings. Love that she mentions her weed budget.
straight up love the honesty in this one!
I loved this video😘😉
lmao love how she mentioned how much she spends on weed in a month. caught me off guard lol
I loved this!! Can't wait to see more
I dig these types of videos. Really puts your own spending and budgeting into perspective. She's done great for herself. Hope I'm as stable as she is by the time I'm 40. 10 years to save 100k! Totally doable.
Lol I wish my car insurance was $75 😖
thats really shocking that she is in nyc/jersey city and insurance is only 75??how sway? i live in bumfuck no where and its $150-200
evileyez504 I live in metro ATL and since no one knows how to drive out here. We have to pay double than most states. GA is has some of the highest insurance rates in the country.
I live in las Vegas and it's high af here smh
I live in LA and I pay $3k a year. I drive a Honda lol
Tracy Hammonds Tracy Hammonds I live in Metro ATL too! My brother used to pay $400 for 6 months with Progressive for his 1995 but he forgot to pay for his insurance and didnt realize he drove months without it. Progressive couldn't give him the same rate back especially because now they stopped selling insurance in GA because of the amount of car fraud and accidents there is here. Now with Geico and with his speeding ticket, he pays 1,200 dollars for 6 months! On a 1995 car!!
Apple music subscription!! Those are money well spent! 😂 i cannot live without it either! ❤️😁
Allexandra I just learned a few days ago that you can buy a one-year, $99 subscription as a lump sum payment. Saves you $20 overall.
emiliabolsas, really? That‘s so cool? 😃 i will look for this! Thx for sharing! ❤️
Or u can just download music for free lol
Biatch Please Facts!😂
Allexandra Lol no, waste of money IMO. Just get CZcams++ off of tweakbox on safari, this will enable you to play and download Music(or any video on CZcams) as your phone is off or idle. And to disable ads on CZcams++, just download Adblock off of the AppStore.
This is really dope. I’d love love love to see many more of these
This would be a really neat series, you guys should do this with different people of different incomes and occuptations
Officially working til I die. Thanks.
I see lots of people saying how she has a great relationship with money etc etc.....and although I agree that she probably does better with money than the average American.....and I don't mean to be the only negative Nancy here but my thoughts were : WOW, How do you make 95k a year and only save 500$ a month??? Not sure if it's the newyork location or her lifestyle or what (her regular bills didn't look that expensive, so doubtful), but I'd be saving a lot more than that if I ever find myself making even close to that much, probably around 4x that much actually, and still live comfortably. Call me cheap, but I see lots of things that could've/should've been cheaper or cut out altogether. 81$ for Mexican for two????
Either way I'd like to see more videos like this. Very interesting to see where people's money go in the middle class.
Right! That's a lottt of money just for one meal. But, assuming her partner is finanically stable it's kind of understandable lol. I still wouldn't spend a lot if I was here because I'm a cheap person
I totally agree haha. That's like 6% if her yearly income…aren't you supposed to be saving 10% JUST for retirement? But she already has a good amount of savings so maybe the video is missing something
I agree!! Me and my bf save 1k a month on a 36k/year salary combined, I wish we had 95k!
But her rent is only 1.5k a month.......not obscene at all......and as I've said before....her other bills are not obscene either....it seems to me as if most of her money goes towards casual and unnecessary spending......again....its her hard earned money to do as she pleases......and she does better with saving/investing than most if we're honest......but just saying if it were me, even with her rent/bills, I'd be able to save much more per month than she is.
Prolly because she already has 140k in it already lol
Bring on more episodes like this please!
Please make more videos like this one! It is so helpful
Her whole 5k a month would make my family live comfortably lol
And your family's income would make a whole neighborhood in rural China live comfortably. Unfortunately its human nature to compare ourselves only to those with more, and tell ourselves we are oppressed. Than to compare ourselves to those with less, and be grateful.
Yesss. I want to be like her. Trying to be the best with money.
Love this series. Please make more!
i really appreciate this series.
My goal is to have money like this. I’m struggling paying 600 dollars rent
Offtheclock Z same. Her spending money is more than my paycheck
To be honest she stole my heart when she said she smokes weed !!! Bro yaaaaas throw that in the budget plan, I’m about a quarter (160) a month kind of gal!
Its not about how much you make, but about how much you save!
Learned this the hard year the first few years of being self-employed and selling on different marketplaces online. The money was rolling in but I was easily spending the same amount so it was going right back out.
The older you get, hopefully the more wise you become and realize your needs versus wants. My relationship with money has definitely gotten better and budgeting and constantly checking your accounts helps a lot.
These videos are very helpful💜
