- Apologies for a month's gap since my last video - I've succumbed to yet another virus; this one having been brought home from my wife's school.
Having finally managed to get the Chronilogical Numerator working, it's time to get on with preparing to attend the Whitby Steampunk Weekend - 10th & 11th February 2024. Come and see my steampunk machines working in all their glory! I look forward to meeting you... - Věda a technologie
Wonderful work , I love your moments of joy despite the mote of dust.
Mote, what a great word, thank you! It just seems inevitable how ever much care I take, that there will be something unpleasant making an appearance once I can't get at it!
Credit to Carl Sagn " The pale blue dot". Love your passion and patience, I have a pile of old gauges from Ogden's Tobacco Liverpool power house that I hope to bring back to life, should confuse the chap from Scottish Power. Q; are you in contact with Tim Hunkin ?. Best, Woffy @@steamhead
@@WOFFY-qc9te 'The pale blue dot'. Apparently many of the scientists at NASA were dead against wasting Voyager's resources to get it to turn in order to take that most memorable picture. I'm so pleased management saw sense!
It's very exciting you have a load of gauges from Ogden's Tobacco. Good luck with bringing them back to life - do keep me posted.
I do love Time Hunkin's recent CZcams videos, I also love the ones he made for the BBC in the 80s. I used to show them to my secondary school DT students - they brought engineering alive!
Glad you're back! 😊
Thank you - it's taken far too long! Horrible viruses.
What a delightful 24 minutes watching your video ! Your work is indeed enchanting ! Thanks a lot for sharing!
As always, thank you Marwan - your comments are most inspiring! Now I'm finally free of flu, there should be more regular videos.
I personnaly shall be looking forward !
@@marwanbeaino5377 thank you.
Nice work as usual. I wish you and your family healthy new year.
Thank you Ibrahim. I too wish your family a healthy and happy 2024.
Nice to see you back.
I had a cunning plan when I rewired my bathroom - I put the switch just _outside_ the door so I could have the sort I wanted. 🙂
Thank you - I'm so pleased to be back sans virus. I'm pleased to hear you got your desired bathroom switch by putting it outside the bathroom. Switches are good!
I was thinking of you earlier, wondering when you were next going to post an update. I get back from the pub, and there you are! Wonderful. :)
Thank you for thinking of me! I'm thrilled to be back sans virus - so exciting my mojo has finally returned.
Glad you’re back! I’ve come down with some little nasty respiratory thing myself right now, so I can sympathize.
Sorry to hear that, I hope you make a speedy recovery. So many viruses to choose from/so many humans to choose from!
Glad your getting well, and are back.
Thank you kindly, it really makes you appreciate your health and the fact I have escaped the grim reaper yet again!
Regarding your lovely 1933 light switches, the wood 'panel' they're fixed to (and that your marvellous machines are usually mounted on) is properly called a pattress. The modern world is sadly devoid of pattresses! 🐘
Absolutely. Just compare a horrible white plastic light switch with a fabulous bakelite and ceramic knife switch mounted on a wooden patress! No competition.
Just discussing with you. Odd bits that need masking for paint, I like tin foil.
That's a really good idea, thank you. Tin foil will definately be making an appearance at some point in future videos.
Can i send you a different knob for the numerator?
Sounds interesting, what do you have in mind?
Something that looks less modern then the red knob
@@miketodesco6915 I do like my red knobs, red gems and felt. Can you email me a picture: john@steamhead.co.uk?
