This is 2023. I just found this video. A great help. I have tunnel vision, at Estate Sales. I loved the "hidden" room.
A big thanks to you, Dominic! Paid $0.60 for a $100 poster at an estate sale today. I really don't think I would have even looked in the tube if I hadn't watched this video last night!
Thanks Emily! That is wonderful to hear. Please let others know about the channel.
I ran estate sales for over 25 years. We loved finding the best treasures in attic , no basement in florida, so garage and barn! Old farm wives hide jewelry in fridge and in side pots pans and food! Even our customers would find gold inside the olds quacker oats carton! Yup, we let them have it! Huge horder an they dug!
Gotta give you props, I've been taking boxes with me to estate sales loading them up and getting amazing deals! Great tips love your videos!
Thanks Bill!!
Best tip is to bring boxes! I bought a mid century flamingo picture and the frame has mirror around it! I’m quirky so I talked them down to $15 dollars! I research everything I buy. In doing so I found it on eBay with a $500 price tag! Cha-Ching! Score baby! I haven’t had the heart to sell it yet. I just want to love it a little while longer!
Yup! I always bring a box!
These tips still hold up today! Thanks for sharing!
You bet! Thanks Bernie!
Great tips Dom for sure! Having strategy and planning definitely give you an extra foot up!
Thank you for your video!! I like your box idea. I take reusable bags with me since I look for smaller items - health and beauty. I may add a box to my system. I also go for the upstairs first - bathrooms and bedrooms since that's where the HBA will live. I make a bee line up the stairs or down a hall. Keep the good videos coming! Thank you!!
Thanks Jennifer! Let me know how you like the box!
Great video!! I have been reselling for about 6 months now and I love it!!!!!!!!!! My favorite is estate sales. I am completely addicted! You gave me so many fantastic ideas and pieces of knowledge. I will def be changing my strategy from here on out! Thanks tons buddy!!! Hope to start doing CZcams vids on this soon!! Thanks again!
I love that you put all these tips into one video. One of your best for me. 😊
Awesome! Thanks so much!
Love these estate sale videos!! Great job Dominic! Kristina and I love the morning videos to start the day!
Love starting my day with you two. Lol! Thanks for the support!
Didn’t even notice how long the video was that’s how good it is! You obviously put a lot of time and effort into pulling all this together. Great info and love the tips. I haven’t been to an estate sale yet but I will come back to this one to tell you how I did when I do!
Terrific and great to hear! Yes, it took awhile to put this together but it was fun to do. I hope it helps when you hit up an estate sale. Please share with others who may like it. Thanks!
GREAT video!! One on my favorites yet!! Don’t be a sheeple 🙌🏻❤️ I love that!!!
🐑 🐑 🐑😂😂😂Thanks!
This was so much work for you, but I gotta say WOW - by far my favorite vid recently from anyone! So intricate, motivating, informative. I’m new to you and so grateful!
Thanks and welcome to the Prime Time Family!
this is a great learning video! Thanks
I'm a paper person, so very jealous of the folders full of original material under all the books! So many great tips, thank you. The only thing I would add is that in my area (Calif), they almost always have a hold table by checkout where you can leave individual items or boxes, and then continue to hunt.
Yeah, they usually have that here too. Thanks!
Nice vid........glad I started looking through some of your earlier ones. Loved those diagrams at the end.
Thanks Carl. I really appreciate all of your support!
very good advice and pointers - a number of items that I wouldn't have looked at now will pay attention. Taking boxes and tools is such a great idea!
my favorite is the vintage items the great graphics and they even built things better back then
So true! Thanks!
This was an amazing video. Thank you so much. I’ve been having a hard time trying to find in person estate sales. Most seem to be online in my area.
Yep, i watched it two parts. Bringing a box/canvas/ikea bar is one of two things i learned and have applied.
Great!
Wish I was as strong as you as you cause the box idea is great!
Yes, it really helps!
Love this Dom. Wonderful tips.
Thanks Karen!
What a great video to watch as I sit waiting in front of an estate sale! Lots of great tips and reminders. I will try to use some of those tips. Thanks!
Thanks so much! Hope it helps you at your sale!
Long, but highly useful video. Thanks for editing in the old footage. I love to go to hidden nooks and crannies and think where someone might hide or safeguard items. Garages are great for tools and technical items and yards for unique garden items. Be nice. That will buy lots of good will. Don't be afraid to ask for a volume discount and wish them luck on the sale. Thank them when you leave.
Thank you! Agreed!
Great video, great work, great teacher. Thanks Dominic
Thanks Chris!
So happy you put this video out, I do think people are intimidated by estate sales. We hired a company to have an estate sale for my moms house, the weather was terrible that weekend, very poor attendance, the company over priced most items, very frustrating for the family, we only made $3000 just terrible. My tip, use the weather to your advantage & use the last day of the sale to make bank on 1/2 off everything.
Yeah some estate sale are crazy with their prices. I cross them off my list real fast!
Thanks for the great tips. learned the most about taking the tools..
Great!
I've been catching up on old videos of CZcamsrs I subscribe to and I must say I find yours to be the most informative and helpful. Please keep them coming!
Thanks Lori. Please let others know. Word of mouth is so important!
@@PrimeTimeTreasureHunter will do, your high popularity is the best way to ensure you keep making these vids, which benefits us all! 😁
Lori Iski thanks Lori!
Great stuff!
Thanks!
Excellent info.
Thanks!
Hey Dominic. Great Video as always..Luv Estate sales..Have been to many in the last 3 weeks, would love to tell you about them. Thanks to you been making a killing.
Hey Oscar! I’m so glad to hear that! Awesome!
When to my first estate sale today to see how things are laid out and works. Now on the list for any upcoming estate sales in my area. Will be coming back for more videos especially on estate sales.
Nice. See my haul video playlist. Tons of estate sale haul videos there
I hit many estate sales. I am an avid picker whom sell a wide variety of collectibles. I will implement your tactic of carrying tools and boxes. Fantastic ideal.
Thank you, John!
Whats your favorite day to go to estate sales? I like to go on the last day everything ususally half off or even better they have a bag sale!
Great video 👍
Thank you!
Another Great Video!!!! Spent nearly 4 hours at an Estate Sale on Friday. All my items purchased were in the basement or the attic. Arrived nearly 2 hours after the start and still found some amazing items. The wall of the basement had a license plate nailed on the wall. As you say, you have to look everywhere.
Exactly. Glad you did well! Thanks for watching!
@@PrimeTimeTreasureHunter Was digging thru boxes in the basement and was thinking, this is where Dominic would be sourcing.
Seacoast Seller that’s funny. Someone gave this an an acronym: WWDD = What would Dominic Do. 😂
@@PrimeTimeTreasureHunter That's great. I did have to "borrow" a hammer for sale to take the license plate down
Seacoast Seller I’ve done that myself too. Gotta use the tools 🛠 at hand!
Great vid!
Thanks!
@@PrimeTimeTreasureHunter u got it
i moved a book case out of the way and found a bible fdated 1804. Bible cost $1.60 valued at $200. No one wanted to deal with the rat poop or moving things out of the way. also pulled off a tin sign off the wall but needed help because I didnt have a multi tool. Left another one behind because it was too much trouble to take off. Bought for $5 sold for $60
Another hit I don’t think I would say lazy remember they did take the effort to go to the sale. I would say lack curiosity and are not very observant
Yeah I see what you mean. That too! 😂
You could try the large Ikea bags while in the sale. The bags hold a lot of goods and are much easier to carry than boxes.
I suppose but the box 📦 has become part of my mojo. 😂
@@PrimeTimeTreasureHunter If something is working for you there's no reason to change it up. Good luck on the hunt
W Wally yep that’s what I always say.👍 thanks
🙌
Hi Dominic, Great vid. Lonnie's got a great idea for storing stuff in Ikea bags. They hold a lot and are collapsible, check out his vids.
Will do. Thanks!
all of the "die hards" where you at??
Pro tip: box *inside* IKEA bag, less chance someone will be looking through it, plus handles 😉
We don’t have an ikea near us unfortunately
You can buy them on eBay!
Hey Dominic....great material, as always man! Do you come across lots of vintage paper at the estate sales?
Yes. I show it in many of my haul videos. If you like vintage paper, see my recent birthday fail video.
Prime Time Treasure Hunter thanks I will check it out! Long time fan and Patreon of Don (Auction Prof) and I’ve seen you together on several live streams.
Disneyfamily515 thanks. Please subscribe if you have not. Thanks
I see people put a piece of tape with “sold” and their name on items they want before paying for them or checking with the estate sale people. Is this a common tactic to get more stuff? Thanks!
what did all those your pony magazines sell for?
You dont need to carry boxes or even bring them. Most sale hosts are more than willing to let you start a "sold pile". They will generally ask for a name or remember a characteristic, like a hat or thd color of your coat. So then you can carry a back pack or a large should bag.
Also, people that rush in thr door, generally have a plan. And know where they ard going and what they are looking for. Like my wife and I. Depending on the area you are in a lot of homes wont have an attic. In fact Ive never been to a sale that had an attic. And Ive found that the more harder to access areas are already cleaned out for ease of shopping. My wife and I usually split up. One goes to the garage and one goes to the basement, first. Then we look at the rest of the house.
We have an advantage over others though, we're not resellers so we're looking for totally different things than resellers. But we still find vintage items that reseller have no idea to even look for!
We also have a complete set of tools in our vehicle. Including cordless dill with screw driver bits and a couple of drill bits, screwdrivers, wire cutters, wrench set, socket set, mallet and a hammer, utility knife flashlights etc. We even bring an angle grinder with a cutoff wheel!
Not around here. You need to Bering a box if you want one. And I don’t like resorting to sold piles. I’ve seen many items taken from those over the years and prefer to be in possession of my items at all times If possible. I buy lots of stuff that is not going to fit in a back pack or shoulder back. I’ve been doing this for a very long time and a large strong box is the way to go.
@@PrimeTimeTreasureHunter never had anything taken from a sold pile. And my wife and I buy lots of tools and machines that definitely wont fit in a back pack. Thats what sold piles are for, the backpack is for smalls.
🥰
First 😊
Whoo hoo!!
Is there a time limit once your name is called I just subscribe you sound legit and honest I sign up for one tomorrow 1st time I’m number 14 let’s see how it work out 🙏🏻
Thanks for subscribing! I’m not sure what you mean by time limit but if you are number 14 you will almost definitely get in the house on the first grouping. Good luck and let me know how it goes!
Not bad place 1st time going to one prices was reasonable got a itch for it can’t wait to go to next one 🤩
What would you do if a bunch of guys were always blocking you from getting to old per in the basement?
Get their before them
@@PrimeTimeTreasureHunter they go in front of you in line then block you from getting to stuff even on the basement floor by using their bodies
gardendaisy try telling the estate sale dealer, saying excuse me While gently moving past, or just go to another room
These prices are soo low not like in sf ca
Yes, every area has their plusses and minueses
