You are absolutely right. Muslim scholars do try to make translations that are more scientifically accurate and that is wrong.
Having said that, the Quran does not say the moon emits light. It simply says that the it is a light. The moon is a light for us to see at night. There is nothing inaccurate about this statement. So, you are correct and encouraged to criticize misinterpretation of the Quran, but there is nothing false about the verse in the first place

@Zubu Melepat hi bro, no i dont believe these stories to be all true.
many beautiful stories have obvious fakeness in them, that fakeness doesnt reduce the beauty of story and conveys the message in it.
      .
it is said, Truth is zero, nothing, when mind has zero thots , silence, it can experience the truth of our existence.
this nothingness can be tried to be conveyed thro words or fake stories

      .
so i ask u today, did anyone teach u.
      .
tansen says : im nothing in front of my master, not even the mud on his foot,

u have known me only, so maybe i appear as best to u.

      .
even if i get capable to sit near his foot, i wud feel i have achieved a lot in life ..
      .
      Akbar said:
immediately call ur guru today now, i wanna listen him,
      .
Tansen : thats the prob, he is alive but cant be bot here.
      .
Akbar : pay him anything, anything u say, but call him
      .
tansen : we cant convinxe him to take.
      .
Akbar : so whats the solution
      .
tansen; u only have to go to him
      .
akbar : im ready to go now to him
      .
tansen : there is no use if we go now, as he wont play when we ask him, .. he plays when he feels like playing
      .
if we listen when he plays then its ok.
      .
akbar : i will enquire when he plays,
      .
      found that, guru haridas plays
at around past midnights on bank of river yamuna
      .
maybe it only happened once in history, that a king as mighty as akbar, had to secretly go at midnight to listen to a monk in cold night
      .
waited till 3 am, and heard him play
all thro play, tears flowed from akbars eyes ..
      .
on journey back akbar didnt speak a word
      .
akbar said : till now i thot u r best , now i see, where do u even stand in front of him.
      .
but why can't u play like him.
      .
Tansen said, .: it is very obvious and clear,
      .
      i play to gain something
      .
and he plays not for gain,
      .
i play, as in front of me there is a target which desire to gain.
      .
that's y my play can never be pure,
      .
i will always remain incomplete in my play.
      .
      for me
playing music is a means to gain.
      .
it in itself is nothing for me,
i wish to gain, wealth, power, fame.
. playing music is just a means for me.
      .
my eyes, wish, desire, hope all revolves around what i can get via playing music .
      .
but for him, music is not a means to achieve anything.
there is nothing in front of him, for which he Is playing.
      .
      but
      behind him there is something,
something that is full, that is overflowing, something that has filled his being,
      .
      akbar kept asking : y y y flowing, what is filled ..
tansen : y does the river flow, y does the flower blossom, y sun rises
      .
calculating y, calculating gain loss before doing action, all this is created by us humans.
      .
the existence over flows, everything in existence lives from inside, but man lives for tomoro, calculating weighing tomoro and next moment.
      .
the joy is not in optimising ,weighing tomoro,
      .
it is in just being, being now.
      .
what ever happen , let it happen , it happens for some nature acting thro u, a flow.
      an unmotivated act.
      not living life thro/for future.
not living life on desires to fill in future.
      .
but allowing , what is within and cant be expressed, to express unto itself, overflowing of that.
      .
when action become overflowing of ur life energy ,
      .
when action is not tainted by any gain loss or motivation or agenda,
.action for the sake of itslf.
acting/doing for the sake of it, not to gain anything, (as we all often do)
      .
then it becomes a pure act.
      .
.even if the action of prayer is done with the motivation/agenda of gaining then, its not pure act.
      .
      real prayer is unmotivated,
      .
if an action is un motivated then it is better than a prayer, .
      .
on the other hand even a prayer can be boddage if it has a desire and motivation behind it .
      .
but we live in bazaar, like business, like shop, we even do prayers to get this that etc..
      .
      .
      the flowering of pure act.

Sir i am a 17 year old boy from india and i was heavely influenced by zakir naik as he justified that islam is only scientific religion and after seeing his video i must say i thought that islam is god's word but when i started reading myself, i found so much hate against disbeliever, verses favouring men over women, killing of apostates and LBGTQ etc. This literally made me questioning the god and irony is they say that allah is merciful and loves us. But what was holding me up is scientific claims but when i started finding proofs of them, it shocked me that they made the verses to look scientific. Muhammad was a courageous and kind but he was sexoholic and his deeds were questionable and that was the final hit in the nail of the coffin and i thus become an athiest. But recently i am reading hindu scripture and they are healing me and giving the answer to all of the question but still i am agnostic. But i will advice all of you to don't follow quran, you will end up hating everyone like jew, christan, ex muslim, LGBTQ, music, dancing, pigs, dogs, etc.

People are wrong but Words of God will never change. If you check the arabic it still dosent change. I have hindi traslation of Quran it has lots of grammatical mistakes. But it is fault of traslator not God. They traslated it in wrong way. Thats why i used read multiple translations of different scholars to drive correct meaning.
And please Dont blam Islam, Just blame Translator of Sahih International or Zakir naik . It dosnt mean Quran is Wrong. Nur means light or white light. Nur is also used as metaphor like when there is darkness only Light (Nur) can show you the way. In that sense also Nur is used. Like Quran is Nur, Muhammad (SAW) is Nur Or light.
I have no doubt that the Quran is a words of God. God who created everything. It is from the God who gives life and death. And Allah is arabic word which means "The God".
Allah (The God) says to us in Quran:

When it comes to Muslims, they use four lies which you can depend on them saying.
1: You need to read it in Arabic
    2: It's a weak hadith.
    3: It's been abrogated.
4: You are taking it out of context.
    To which I always respond
1: Your scholars translated it into English, take it up with them.
2: If it is weak then why is it available to read?
3: Allah couldn't get it right the first time?
4: How hard is it to take it out of context, don't you understand the words?
You just have to remember, it is only when they get cornered do they fall back on those. So count them as points when they say one of those four things because they don't have answers.

Congratulations, Apostate Prophet, you have detected a new weakness of the Qur'an, because Allah believed that the moon was a light [نور; nûr: light] when in reality the moon is dark, it does not emit its own light, it only reflects the sunlight ...
The Sahih International has therefore corrected Allah by adding his own word _reflected light_ and Mr. Zai prefers to validate the correction rather than validate the true word of Allah that makes this regrettable error. From there, our Muslim brothers should admit that the current science of Unbelievers is much better informed than Allah!

The moon is neither a light nor is it a reflected light, the moon is a rock. However, without the moon nothing would light up the night, thus it is mentioned as light. Moreover, the Quran mentions earth as a mattress(فراش), now obviously any sane person would tell you earth is not a mattress, here earth is basically described as a resting place. You would often find descriptions in the Quran, so it's better to ask a trustworthy mufasr(مفسر) to avoid confusion.

@Moneyxl00 The Quran describes Allah as the best deceiver there is, a liar who is not above using the same evil and wicked schemes of his opponents.
For example, the Quran calls Allah a makr, in fact the best makr there is:
But they (the Jews) were deceptive, and Allah was deceptive, for Allah is the best of deceivers (Wamakaroo wamakara Allahu waAllahu khayru al-makireena)! S. 3:54; cf. 8:30
Other texts that identify Allah as a makr include:
Are they then secure from Allah's deception (makra Allahi)? None deemeth himself secure from Allah's deception (makra Allahi) save folk that perish. S. 7:99
So they schemed a scheme: and We schemed a scheme (Wamakaroo makran wamakarna makran), while they perceived not. S. 27:50

      listen till end: fczcams.com/video/ErJY_knTB3E/video.html
listen for first 13 min for beginning msg: czcams.com/video/8x_URBJW5Dk/video.html
Since Quran is verbal word of God here's how it's read: surah yunus (chapter 10 ) czcams.com/video/GcA0hs9Ornk/video.html their translation is also good..
regarding what seems to be errors in english translation: are basically misinterpretations and misunderstandings, so correct understanding is required before laying allegations on something that they have no knowledge of, below it is explained with scientific proof, after explaining this verse of the Quran,
      This is from Quran
: This is first sentence must be read together(not be broken down) to keep context intact, just as one would in any reading:
      ۚ هُوَ الَّذِي جَعَلَ الشَّمْسَ ضِيَاءً وَالْقَمَرَ نُورًا وَقَدَّرَهُ مَنَازِلَ لِتَعْلَمُوا عَدَدَ السِّنِينَ وَالْحِسَاب
Using translation of Yusuf Ali: "It is He Who made the sun to be a shining glory and the moon to be a light and measured out stages for her: that ye might know the number of years and the count (of time). "
      second sentence: مَا خَلَقَ اللَّهُ ذَٰلِكَ إِلَّا بِالْحَقِّ ۚ يُفَصِّلُ الْآيَاتِ لِقَوْمٍ يَعْلَمُونَ :
"Nowise did Allah create this but in truth and righteousness. (Thus) doth He explain His Signs in detail for those who understand." Yusuf Ali version of translation
. "وَالْقَمَرَ نُورًا وَقَدَّرَه" means "And determined moonlight phases sentence..," قَدَّرَه " means measured out, determined, ordained..etc.. since one word in Arabic language has many meanings and also: this has to be read together, as a whole and not be broken down or else it’ll disturb it’s actual context. Pulling "noor" "نُورً " out of context again.. since it was talking about its moonlight phases, haters are so busy just to somehow pullout something that they can call an error that they just neglect the context of the whole verse. Instead of analyzing the whole verse they just interrupt, and causing deception, they illogically highlight some random word out of sentence then focus on one word, whereas if they see it's connected with "measured stages of moonlight" "وَالْقَمَرَ نُورًا وَقَدَّرَهُ مَنَازِلَ" this has to be taken as a whole, not just " وَالْقَمَرَ نُورًا" but full part of the verse, and they(the haters ) do like this for almost all cases, something that they can utilize, & serve their purpose of causing hatred and spreading misinformation, something they have no knowledge of but Quran is for the people of deep understanding & knowledge and science also proves it so far..
The original word changes when translated, not only does it lose it’s function, does little to fufill the purpose, etc, the structure of the sentence is lost.. all is left is a vague understanding of what truly the intention of what was being said. so learning of arabic is of high importance to bridge that gap. Since "Science" is trusted more, here’s from the scientific proof of what this verse was talking about.. here also it’s not mentioned about moonlight it’s reflected light since even that’s not the purpose of this verse..
neither does it deny, just it's talking about its phases here just like you'll see in scientific proof below:
      Scientific Reports www.researchgate.net/publication/324595434_Moonlight_controls_lunar-phase-dependency_and_regular_oscillation_of_clock_gene_expressions_in_a_lunar-synchronized_spawner_fish_Goldlined_spinefoot
"Moonlight controls lunar-phase-dependency and regular oscillation of clock gene expressions in a lunar-synchronized spawner Fish, Goldlined spinefoot"
"Goldlined spinefoot, Siganus guttatus, inhabits tropical and subtropical waters and synchronizes its spawning around the first quarter moon likely using an hourglass-like lunar timer. In previous studies, we have found that clock genes (Cryptochrome3 and Period1) could play the role of state variable in the diencephalon when determining the lunar phase for spawning. Here, we identified three Cry, two Per, two Clock, and two Bmal genes in S. guttatus and investigated their expression patterns in the diencephalon and pituitary gland. We further evaluated the effect on their expression patterns by daily interruptions of moonlight stimuli for 1 lunar cycle beginning at the new moon. It signifcantly modifed the expression patterns in many of the examined clock(-related) genes including Cry3 in the diencephalon and/or pituitary gland. Acute interruptions of moonlight around the waxing gibbous moon upregulated nocturnal expressions of Cry1b and Cry2 in the diencephalon and pituitary gland, respectively, but did not affect expression levels of the other clock genes. These results highlighted the importance of repetitive moonlight illumination for stable or lunar-phase-specific daily expression of clock genes in the next lunar cycle that may be important for the lunar-phase-synchronized spawning on the next first quarter moon"
For more details click link below: www.researchgate.net/publication/324595434_Moonlight_controls_lunar-phase-dependency_and_regular_oscillation_of_clock_gene_expressions_in_a_lunar-synchronized_spawner_fish_Goldlined_spinefoot
click this link for commentry on this Chapter 10 from where this verse was taken:
      www.englishtafsir.com/quran/10/index.html#sdfootnote11sym
"..the third argument in proof of the doctrine of the life in the Hereafter. It is based on Allah's manifestations in the heavens and on the earth. The greatest and most manifest of these are the sun, the moon and the alternation of the night and day, for these are ever present before each and every human being. ..These manifestations of His are a clear proof of the fact that the Creator is All-Wise, for there is a system, a wisdom, a design and a serious object in each and every particle of His creation. These seem, as it were, to say. "When you yourselves learn from the signs and manifestations of His wisdom that He is All Wise, how can you, then, expect that He will not call man to account after granting him common-sense, moral feelings, independent responsibility and authority to exploit His endless resources, and that He will not reward those who make the right use of these and punish those who abuse them?"
      read more: www.englishtafsir.com/quran/10/index.html#sdfootnote11sym
Thus, it has become obvious that in surah 10 vv. 4-6, three arguments have been given in their logical order to present the doctrine of the Hereafter:
The fact of the origination of life in this world is a proof that life in the Next World is also possible... read more: www.englishtafsir.com/quran/10/index.html#sdfootnote11sym
"A deep thinking will show that these are the arguments for the proof of the life in the Hereafter and these suffice, too. After this the only thing that might be demanded in this connection is that it should be actually demonstrated before man to convince him that this thing is possible, necessary and demanded by the Wisdom of Allah. But it is obvious that this will not be done in this world for this is for the trial of man and not for recompense, and Allah wills to test whether man believes in the Hereafter without seeing it, merely by his reasoning on the right lines.
Besides this, the words, "He makes His Signs manifest for those people, who possess knowledge" and "...in all that Allah has created... there are Signs for those, who intend avoiding (deviation from the Truth)" are worthy of serious consideration. These words imply this: "Allah has in His wisdom spread such signs in each and every manifestation of His as to clearly point to the realities that are hidden behind them; but only those people can reach to those realities, who (a) free themselves from the prejudices of ignorance and acquire knowledge from the sources with which Allah has provided man for this purpose, and (b) have the intention of avoiding wrong ways and following the Right Way."
A true and sincere person does his/her own research, a lot of people you see that accepted Islam they don’t even have Islam in their 'list of to do things', they just hate it so much and are made into thinking that it’s a religion of terrorism as they fall victim of false propaganda, but after looking into various religions scriptures, they come across and do some research on Islam, or study the Quran with sincerity, without being biased. Explained in reversion story of former non muslim, Yusuf Chambers and Dr Lawrence Brown. czcams.com/video/cfxbnEMn-fM/video.html , Dr Lawrence Brown: czcams.com/video/ErJY_knTB3E/video.html , czcams.com/video/ySAVxMIiKi0/video.html, Dr. Jeffrey Lang - What does the Quran say about God? Why do we have to Suffer? czcams.com/video/C_uL-L2KIAI/video.html
..We must do our own research, read the Quran as a whole and not just selective parts out of context, you'll know it has been proven that all it has said has been with precision & accuracy, when we begin to understand it we'll know that there's no error. As mentioned in the Quran, " We shall show them Our Signs in the (furthest) regions of the horizons and within themselves until it becomes manifest to them that this is the Truth. Is it not enough that thy Lord is witness over all things?” (Quran: 41.53) (make sure to watch the links)

      Noor (نور) = Light
      Nooran (نورًا) = Glean
The ayah says *Nooran* and not *Noor* in the original text. One of the reason people couldn't change the Qur'an is because the slightest change of a word would change the entire meaning.
      *_FOR EXAMPLE:_*
      Katab (كتب) = Wrote
      Kutub (كتب) = Books
      And in Al-Qur'an 24:35, Allah says “Allahu Nooru-Ssamawati Wa-lardi”
      (اللَّهُ نورُ السَّماواتِ وَالأَرضِ)
Noor here means the light of guidance. Just like it's always used in a famous Arabic line ‘العلم نور’ which means knowledge is the light of guidance.

The most well-known is the verse about a first man made from clay and placed on earth by God. I wonder if someday, perhaps a century or more in the future, human enlightenment will spread and with it critical thinking. People will see the many logical, and moral problems with believing in Islam doctrine, and Islam will fade away just as the beliefs in Greek gods did.

@Sayan prince I'm not fully religious like others out there with Islam, so don't take my credibility of what I speak to be of great significance, but even I can tell you that it is man-written, from Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), but he was told through Jibril (Gabriel) (PBUH) from Allah (SWT) to write down what was told to him. That's one of the first things that you hear when knowing the beginning of the Religion.
As far as what I see on the Moon and Light; Based on what is said in the English Translation of the Quran that I have here ( Translated by Abdullah Yusuf Ali ) Surah 10:5
"It is he who made the sun a shining glory and the moon to be a light (of beauty)"
What I can precisive from this is a form of figurative language ( specifically a metaphor ) Where The sun is a strong magnificence (Glory) visual, and the moon to be a pleasing, and eye-appealing visual (Beauty.)
That is what I see here in my side. This is probably why it's best to read the Quran in it's original Language and format right?
But even then, You can literally see there in the guy's video at 3:34 at the bottom. It says "derived light" in the translation. Derived meaning "obtained light," and obtained meaning "captured, taken, gotten" etc.
You said that it's mentioned that Sperm comes from the backbone and ribs, and that's it's mentioned in the Quran. Not True as far as what I am seeing here as well.
      Surah 86:6-7
      6. He is created from a drop emitted -
      7. Proceeding from between the backbone and the ribs:
There are many different wordings, but the main similarity is the whole Backbone and Ribs.
"Proceeding from," doesn't mean where the sperm is created, but instead, where the sperm is being shot into. That's where the beginning of life happens. When a nut gets busted right up in there Mmmkayy.
So it's either, you're reading the Quran without much thought about it ( and honestly I can understand if your Uncle or elders force it upon you, it just gives a negative bias in the beginning ) Or you are just talking out of context in ignorance to it's true meaning.
I'd suggest reading more types of Literature to get an understanding of Figurative Language ( Literary Devices ) which can help you understand the meanings ( Esp in English Translated material ) better.

I've noticed that years ago, the English versions of Quran, Hadith and Tafsirs don't match the their Arabic counterparts. Yes sometimes translating from one language to another is hard due to an equivalent word or expression (translating the English statement "driving in the parkway & parking on the driveway" into another language for example) not existing in the other language but when it is exists then you must use the correct translation. Nour or munir in Arabic just means light, it doesn't mean borrowed or reflected light as others have claimed. Akis al nour (عاكس النور) would mean reflected light, but it's found nowhere in Islam when it comes to the moon. I remember reading a hadith where Abu Bakr called someone a c*unt in Arabic but the English translation doesn't use the the c word
