The Islamic Prayer is a Waste of Time

  • The Islamic prayer, known as salah or namaz, is a set of specific prayers that are to be done at specific times every day. This obligatory prayer is not only a waste of time, it is also hardly doable for many people.

my father in law prays 5 times a day in the mosque. It is very annoying because we barely can spend time with him, he is always looking at his watch to be sure not missing the next one. One of my friend was even worse. Once we made a travel with him in Germany, he regulary stopped the visits to take the car and search for a mosque (which was of course not located in the touristic area). Since I was still muslim at this time I had to go with him. Furthermore he woke us up every morning at 5 o'clock AM for the morning prayer, and we were all tired during the day.
This ideology is pure madness. I enjoy life better since I am not muslim anymore, thanks the true God.

You're right, there are historical facts that refute Islam and proove that it is false. There are also many scientific facts that prove that Islam is false. One example: a God that doesn't know that the sun does not orbit around the Earth and set each night in a pool of muddy water, is certainly not a god. Of course people in the seventh century did not know these historical and scientific facts. However now that we know more about science and history people still believe in Islam because they haven't been educated. It's not the Muslims fault that they were born into Islam. They didn't choose it. And now they're stuck in it until someone rescues them from it. Fortunately for them there are people like apostate prophet who are trying to educate them and rescue them from it.

To do anything voluntary as opposed to under law is easy.
Our God of the bible shows us he doesn't want us to be put under laws as this brings a curse.
Jesus died to break ALL curses so the way you feel about this law to prayer actually brings with it the "curse of the law"
      Here's why.
For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them. But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith. And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them. Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. Is the law then against the promises of God? God forbid: for if there had been a law given which could have given life, verily righteousness should have been by the law. But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe. But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed. Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster. For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

I will do that but either dont really want to, or some thing stops us so we fail.
The law is the ten commandments and no one can keep them so once we come to this realization, and read this passage while thinking about this whole curse thing.
( Romans 3:23 says all sin {which is miss the mark of perfection}, and come short of the glory of God.)
To surrender to this is what our Saviour wants of us.
      Jesus' name means savior.
And only when we understand that we can't do it off out own bat, and accept that his perfect sacrifice has paid the price that none of us can pay, ( death) which is why he died for us, and rose from death which opened the way to eternity for us.
      Hope you can understand this.
The law is our schoolmaster to lead us to him.

      Anton...
It seems that our lives are commanded to be full of prayer as obedient children of our Father and Elohiym YHWH, through faith in His son Yahuwshua. Sha'ul did not neglect to relay to those around him, that they were living in the last hour. If it was urgent then...that life had to be strictly a life of watching and praying, of putting off the old self, of separating oneself from the works that brought death (working the works of the world -unbelief and disobedience to YHWH's commands), then it should be even more so now, seing as we are observing much of last-day prophecy manifesting more so.
Isn't it amazing that in Yahuwshua's and Shaul's day, that it became the final hour.
There are 12 hours in a day... or a day consists of sunrise to sunset (when a man goes out to do the labour of his hands for six days, or the obedient called out ones keep the seventh day shabbat).
That means we are in the hour when all the 10 virgins (the House of Yisra'el - both non believing secular and believing Christian gentiles) fall asleep. During this time only five are wise and the other five are unwise.
It's not depicting that five of the tribes are wise and the other five are not...
It's saying that the wise of the 10 "virgins" ( the scattered house of Yisra'el) through faith in YHWH's way of declaring a man righteous (through Yahuwshua ha Mashiach) have repented from breaking the commands (Torah) of YHWH (that act of rebellion that caused Yahuwshua to lay down his life and exchange our disobedience of Torah commands for his obedience).
These have fully done what Revelations 1 shows... "those who follow the commands of YHWH and the testimony of Yahuwshua ha Mashiach".
There are now, and will be, those who do not take hold of the true gospel because of the lying shepherds... these are the unwise virgins who preferred to listen to the priests and pastors instead of the Ru'ach ha Kadosh.
These are those who will find themselves wanting at the midnight hour when the bridegroom has been announced... these are those who will not be able to enter into the marriage with the bridegroom...they have the testimony of Yahuwshua ha Mashiach, but they don't hold fast to YHWH's commands.
Yahuwshua said himself that whoever does not keep the commands and teaches others to do likewise, will be called the least in the kingdom of his Father.
He also said that many (who believed on his name) would cry out saying "didn't we do this in your name", or "didn't we do miracles in your name"...but Yahuwshua casts then away and tells them that they were workers of unrighteousness.
The word there is actually lawlessness, or TORAH-LESS-NESS.
He's saying that they kept not the commands of his Father, those commands were taught by Yahuwshua as he paved the way for us to do as he did in obedience.
"Watch and pray, that you enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak."
How much do you think Yahuwshua is telling you to pray in order that you do not easily fall into temptation?
"Take heed, watch and pray: for you know not when the time is"
"pray for them which despitefully use you."
"pray you therefore the Master of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest."
"Watch you therefore, and pray always, that you may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man."
      "Pray without ceasing."
      "Brethren, pray for us."
"Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of YHWH may have free course, and be glorified, even as it is with you:"
"I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up set apart hands, without wrath and doubting."
"Is any among you afflicted? let him pray."
"Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the called out ones; and let them pray over him."
"Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that you may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availes much."
"If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death (according to YHWH's Torah commands of a right way to live), he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray for it."

Cornelius was praying at the time of the afternoon Jewish prayers (he was praying the Mincha... the prayer in connection with the evening sacrifice) , he prayed to YHWH always and all his household was saved because of his fervent attitude.
King David also prayed three times a day.
"Morning, noon, and night, I cry out in distress, and He will hear my voice." Psalm 55.
Daniel also prayed three times a day.
"Three times a day he got down on his knees and prayed, giving thanks to his Elohiym, just as he had done before."
      Daniel 6.
Have you ever had the Messenger of YHWH come to you in a vision clearly giving you instructions and blessing you for your kind acts and prayers that have come up for a remembrance before YHWH...(and you are praying Jewish prayers)?
Have you been called a "man after YHWH's own heart", like David was called...and you know, couldn't stop praising YHWH over His Torah as in psalm 119?
Have you been saved for a higher purpose, carried off to Babylon, been allowed by a foreign King to only eat that which YHWH the Elohiym of Yisra'el says is right to eat, been favoured by that foreign King, been kept alive from the lions, interpreted dreams fur Kings, and much more... like Dani'el did?
Have you been returned to the land of promise, such a tiny land... too small to survive the millions of muslims around you, and find that miracles are happening everywhere.. You all should be dead... but the other side has been defeated.
Have you survived 71 years in a small town in a tiny country where you have been bombarded with rockets day and night, had so many suicide bomber attacks you can no longer count... have you survived all that?
Yet you pray to YHWH three times a day in the synagogue.... Surely these repetitious prayers should have sent YHWH around the bend.
Then YHWH is watching over His Word to fulfil it.
      YHWH sees our hearts.
It doesn't matter if your prayer is five minutes or an hour, or five hours; if you are not humble and sincere in your worship of YHWH, then even your five minute prayer will not be heard.
Remember the command to us to not be boastful?
We who were ONCE gentiles, but are no longer, because we have been grafted into Yisra'el and we are Yisra'el. YHWH has brought us back into the sheepfold from whence we became lost (cast away).
Yahuwshua didn't teach his talmidim a two- minute prayer.
Do you think that Yahuwshua would have neglected to pray for the peace of yerushalayim?
Whatever we are taught in the whole word of YHWH, one thing stands out when each and every one of us walks out our door each day, and that is proverbs 16:18,
"Before destruction comes pride, and before a fall a haughty spirit"
It seems christianity has gone away from anything to do with what YHWH comnands, making their own mind up as to how YHWH is to be worshipped.
I have yet to come across any christian who has experienced such visitation as these men of faith.
Even Sha'ul, a Binyamite, a strong father in the work regarding returning cast away Yisra'el back to YHWH, was visited face to face by Yahuwshua.
There's one difference between islam and Judaism.
Islam prays to a god that doesn't exist.
Yahuwdim pray to the One True Elohiym, YHWH; Creator of the heavens and the earth.

      Zecharyah 8:2
"Thus said YHWH Tzava'oth : I have been zealous for Tziyown with great zeal, With great heat I have been zealous for her."
YHWH is zealous... with great zealousnes of strong indignation, envy toward, anger and fury.
      YHWH is a Zealous El.
Eliyahu said he was very zealous for YHWH Elohey Tzava'oth (meaning on behalf of YHWH).
      Sha'ul said:
For I am zealous over you with the zealousness of YHWH (meaning on behalf of, of the same as): for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to ha Mashiach .
It's good to be a zealot who is zealous for every word that comes out of the mouth of YHWH.
Since there was no "J" in Latin or other languages for centuries and centuries after ha Mashiach,
the closest thing to a "Z" would be Hebrew "zayin", and then Greek "zeta".
The Hebrew original is "qanna", and I have no idea how that came to be "jealous" in the English as the Greek for "qanna" is "zeloo".
I believe the transliteration into the English should have been "zealous".
You can see that in the English language, "zeloo" (GRK) is easily "zealous" with an end sounding of "loo", not "los".
If the "lous"is Latin, I don't have time to look into that.
But I can see how "zea-lous" is "ze-loo".

I am still learning the Rosary and have gone to Adoration a few times... and I am doing my best with those things whilst also making time for Scripture reading and journaling. That is the beautiful thing about God: it is always for you and not to please God. The beauty of the Cross is that Christ loves us so much that we do not need to perform for him, do good works, or even have perfect days. God does not need us... but He loves us so much that He would rather die for us than exist without us.
It was simply in His nature to create us, despite our sin. Ah, the Gospel is so beautiful!!
As a Christian, I just need to have faith in Christ, try my best every day, and be compassionate to others. Holiness and sanctification are my goals. I think the same is true for my Protestant friends. I do not think denomination separates us from His love. We are far more alike than we might ever think, united by the Holy Spirit. And it is beautiful.
It's okay if every day looks different: different prayers, different times for reading and journaling in my Bible, and different acts of compassion toward others. Even if I have an absolutely terrible day, He loves me and wants me to find rest in His heart.
God loves me... especially on those terrible days.
Because I don't have to earn His love.
It's given to me freely... and mercifully....
A Gift that I wish for all in the world to possess, too.

I have grown up feeling every bit of this, I hate prayers and I hate being forced in to it. When I ask about the repetitiveness of it and why it's necessary, I get answers like, it's not for Allah, it's for you. I have never felt anything divine, spiritual or moving from prayer, just nothing. People will say for it to have meaning you need to understand the words. When I read they words, they are repetitive and nonsensical to me. Then they'll say there's a deeper meaning for which you need to know Arabic and get the advice of an Islamic scholar. I think the point at which you need a scholar to interpret things for you, it the religion in general stops becoming a message for ALL of mankind. Especially when those messages stop in 7th century Arabia.
Thank you AP. The material you have put out makes more sense and clarity to me than anything I have grown up learning about Islam. I've tried so hard to make sense and watch videos of scholars, but they appear to all fall down at some point. But the arguments you put forward are water tight. Plus those other idiots like Hijab and Dawah are a disgrace. When they have to defend the indefensible, they reduce themselves to petty and childish insults.

It's never enough of worship. I always felt so bad about missing prayers and so guilty. But it was impossible for me to pray all of them. Even if you pray 5 times a day, it's not enough. There comes night prayers, other additional prayers, reading Quran and all. Once I've seen on a religious website how a muslims day should be. I was surprised. Cuz it was like whole day was filled with worships and no time left for yourself. I even calculated i am a slow person so every prayer took approximately 40 mins of me. Plus i was trying to find a masjid everytime i was outside i walked far away i can say everyday around 5 hours were spent with struggle with prayers. Then i quit it cuz it's impossible for me to do this anymore.

Ex-muslim here. Growing up as a child, I remember prayer being shoved down my throat by my father. I did it as a matter of fear, duty, and most importantly, a chore. I never felt any spiritual connection through it, ever. During Ramadan, I would go to the mosque to stand there for hours on end listening to the imam chant and ramble a bunch of stuff I didn't really understand, but it was my duty. Looking back now, not a single time I prayed, did I do it because I genuinely wanted to, not once. If a conscious god exists, I honestly don't think God is that insecure. It's like obliging other people to pretend to be your friend when they would rather not be around you.
